Indications: The Aquadex FlexFlow® System is indicated for temporary (up to 8 hours) ultraltration treatment of patients with uid overload who have failed diuretic therapy; and extended (longer than 8 hours) ultraltration treatment of patients with uid overload who have failed diuretic therapy and require hospitalization. All treatments must be administered by a healthcare provider, under physician prescription, both of whom having received training in extracorporeal therapies.

Bedside Checklist: Pre-Therapy
Connect the console to AC Power√
Anticoagulant infusing
30 minute battery life
30 minutes prior to therapy initiation
Check for venous access patency
Perform “10-in-10” test Check for infusion / withdraw resistance
Connect to venous access catheter
Disconnect Withdraw (blue) line from priming bag Disconnect Infusion (clear) line from UF bag Open all clamps
No caps or plugs - HUB to HUB connection

Troubleshooting Considerations
Reposition the patient
Flush Lumens
Via access ports Perform “10-in-10” test

Reduce Blood Flow rate
No lower than 20ml/min

Switch the lumens being used for infusion and withdrawal
Pull catheter back until pressure parameters are within acceptable range
Rotate catheter hub
If patient cannot maintain or achieve an appropriate rate, consider alternative access (e.g. central, peripheral IV)
