1 Anschließen und
Inbetriebnahme der Geräte
Der Empfänger der Ergo WheelMouse wireless
optical wird mit einem USB-Stecker ausgeliefert.
Mit dem USB-PS/2-Adapter können Sie ihn auch
an der PS/2-Buchse des PCs anschließen.
Voraussetzung für eine optimale Nutzung
Eine helle, strukturierte Fläche als Mausuntergrund steigert die Effektivität der Maus:
• Sie gewährleistet eine optimale Bewegungserkennung.
• Sie verlängert die Batterielebensdauer.
Eine spiegelnde Fläche ist als Mausuntergrund
nicht geeignet.
1.1 So legen Sie die Batterien in die
Ergo WheelMouse wireless optical ein
1 Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach an der Unterseite
der Maus.
2 Legen Sie die beiden mitgelieferten Batterien
vom Typ AA in das Gehäuse ein.
3 Schließen Sie die Abdeckung.
1.2 Platzieren des Empfängers auf dem
Schreibtisch
Wenn Ihr Schreibtisch eine Oberfläche aus Holz
hat, erreichen Sie optimale Empfangsbedingungen, indem Sie den Empfänger horizontal platzieren.
Wenn Ihr Schreibtisch eine Oberfläche aus Metall
hat, erreichen Sie optimale Empfangsbedingungen, indem Sie den Empfänger vertikal platzieren.
Dazu können Sie den Standfuß des Empfängers
benutzen.
1.3 So schließen Sie den Empfänger an
Ihren PC an der USB-Buchse an
1 Entfernen Sie den USB-PS/2-Adapter vom USB-
Stecker des Empfängerkabels.
2 Verbinden Sie den Stecker des Empfängers mit
dem USB-Anschluss.
1.4 So schließen Sie den Empfänger an
Ihren PC an der PS/2-Buchse an
Wenn Sie den Empfänger mit Hilfe des Adapters
an die PS/2-Buchse des PCs anschließen, müssen Sie den PC zuvor ausschalten.
¾ Verbinden Sie den PS/2-Stecker des USB-PS/2-
Adapters mit der PS/2-Buchse des PCs.

2 Gleichzeitiger Betrieb mehrerer
Mäuse
Bei Betrieb von mehreren Mäusen in räumlicher
Nähe kann es zu Störungen bei der Übertragung
kommen. Um dies zu verhindern, muss die individuelle Signalübertragung von Ihrer Maus zu Ihrem
Empfänger aktiviert werden.
2.1 So aktivieren Sie die individuelle Signalübertragung zwischen Maus und
Empfänger
1 Drücken Sie kurz die Taste am Empfänger.
Die LED des Empfängers schaltet sich ein und
leuchtet ca. eine Minute.
2 Drücken Sie bei leuchtender LED die Taste an
der Unterseite der Maus mit einem spitzen
Gegenstand (Beispiel: Kugelschreiber).
Die LED des Empfängers schaltet sich aus. Die
individuelle Signalübertragung ist aktiviert.
Die Datenübertragung zwischen Maus und Empfänger wird durch kurzes Blinken der LED angezeigt.
Nach einem Batteriewechsel muss die individuelle
Signalübertragung erneut aktiviert werden.
3 Installieren der Maus unter
Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP
3.1 So installieren Sie die Software unter
Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP
1 Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD-ROM in Ihr
CD-ROM-Laufwerk.
Die CD-ROM wird automatisch gestartet. Das
Fenster Ergo WheelMouse wireless optical
wird geöffnet.

Wenn die CD-ROM nicht automatisch gestartet
wird, wählen Sie im Windows Explorer
CD-ROM-Laufwerk | Software und
doppelklicken Sie mit der linken Maus-Taste auf
die Datei Setup.exe.
Die Installation beginnt.
2 Bei automatischem Start der CD-ROM klicken
Sie auf den Eintrag Softwareinstallation star-
ten.
Abhängig von den Einstellungen Ihres InternetBrowsers haben Sie die Möglichkeit, die Datei zu
speichern oder zu öffnen.
3 Wählen Sie nach Möglichkeit die Option Öffnen
und klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche OK.

Besteht nur die Option, die Datei zu speichern,
dann brechen Sie den Dialog ab, wählen im
Windows Explorer CD-ROM-Laufwerk |
Software und doppelklicken mit der linken
Maus-Taste auf die Datei Setup.exe.
Die Installation beginnt.

1 Connecting and starting-up the
devices
The receiver of the Ergo WheelMouse wireless
optical is supplied with a USB connector. You can
also connect it to the PS/2 port of the PC by means
of the USB-PS/2 adapter.
Prerequisite for optimal use
A bright, structured surface under the mouse
increases the efficiency of the mouse:
• It ensures optimum detection of movement.
• It increases the battery life.
A reflective surface is not suitable for use under
the mouse.
1.1 How to insert the batteries into the
Ergo WheelMouse wireless optical
1 Open the battery compartment on the under-
side of the mouse.
2 Insert the two included batteries, type AA, into
the housing.
3 Close the cover.

1.2 Positioning the receiver on the desk
If your desk has a wooden surface, you can
achieve optimal receipt conditions by positioning
the receiver horizontally.
If your desk has a metal surface, you can achieve
optimal receipt conditions by positioning the
receiver vertically. You can use the base of the
receiver to this purpose.
1.3 How to connect the receiver to your
PC via the USB port
1 Remove the USB-PS/2 adapter from the USB
connector of the receiver cable.
2 Connect the receiver connector with the USB
port.
1.4 How to connect the receiver to your
PC via the PS/2 port
You must first switch off the PC if you connect the
receiver to the PS/2 port of the PC by means of the
adapter.
¾ Connect the PS/2 connector of the USB-PS/2
adapter with the PS/2 port of the PC.
2 Simultaneous operation of
several mice
Interference may occur during transfer when operating several mice in close proximity to each other.
To prevent this, the individual signal transfer from
your mouse to your receiver must be activated.
2.1 How to activate the individual signal
transfer between the mouse and the
receiver
1 Briefly press the button on the receiver.
The LED of the receiver is activated and lights up
for approx. one minute.
2 Press the button on the underside of the mouse
with a pointed object (e.g. ballpoint pen) when
the LED lights up.
The LED of the receiver extinguishes. The individual signal transfer is activated.
The data transfer between the mouse and the
receiver is indicated by the LED briefly flashing.
Following a battery change, the individual signal
transfer must be reactivated.
3 Installing the mouse under
Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP
3.1 To install the software underWindows
95/98/ME/2000/XP
1 Place the enclosed CD-ROM in your
CD-ROM drive.
The CD-ROM starts automatically. The Ergo
WheelMouse wireless optical window is
opened.

If the CD-ROM is not started automatically,
select CD-ROM Drive | Software in the
Windows Explorer and double-click the file
Setup.exe with the left mouse button.
Installation begins.
2 If the CD-ROM starts automatically, click on the
entry Start software installation.
Depending on the settings of your Internet
Browser you can save or open the file.
3 If possible, select the option Open and click on
the OK command button.

If only the option to save the file exists, cancel
the dialog box, select CD-ROM drive | Software
in the Windows Explorer and double-click with
the left mouse button on the file Setup.exe.
Installation begins.
4 Follow the installation instructions on the screen.

5 General advice
Cherry continuously optimizes products as new
technologies are developed. For this reason we
reserve the right to make technical alterations. The
evaluation of product reliability and the definition of
the product’s technical performance are carried out
according to Cherry’s own requirements in order to
meet internationally recognized regulations and
standards. Requirements in addition to these can
be met through mutual cooperation. Improper
usage, handling, storage and external influences
could lead to faults and defects during use.
We do not accept warranty for defects caused by
alterations to our product by the user and shall not
be held liable for unauthorized modifications. All
repairs must be made by Cherry or an officially
appointed organization or person. There is a dan-
ger of explosion if the optional lithium battery is not
exchanged in the correct manner! Possible compensation claims against Cherry or its nominated
officers − whatever the legal justification including

1 Raccordement et mise en
service des appareils
Le récepteur de la souris Ergo WheelMouse wire-
less optical est livré avec un connecteur USB.
Avec l'adaptateur USB-PS/2, vous pouvez également le raccorder à la douille PS/2 du PC.
Conditions pour une utilisation optimale
L'utilisation de la souris sur une surface claire,
structurée augmente son effectivité:
• Cela garantit une détection optimale des mouvements.
• La durée de vie des piles en est augmentée.
Une surface réfléchissante ne convient pas pour la
souris.
1.1 Pour mettre les piles en place dans la
souris Ergo WheelMouse wireless
optical, procédez comme suit
1 Ouvrez le compartiment à piles situé à la face
inférieure de la souris.
2 Placez les deux piles fournies de type AA dans
le boîtier.
3 Fermez le couvercle.
1.2 Placement du récepteur sur le
bureau
Si votre bureau a une surface en bois, vous
obtiendrez des conditions de réception optimales
en plaçant le récepteur à l'horizontale.
Si votre bureau a une surface métallique, vous
obtiendrez des conditions de réception optimales
en plaçant le récepteur à la verticale. A et effet,
vous pouvez utiliser le socle du récepteur.
1.3 Pour raccorder le récepteur à votre
PC via le connecteur USB, procédez
comme suit
1 Enlevez l'adaptateur USB-PS/2 de la fiche USB
du câble du récepteur.
2 Connectez la fiche du récepteur au connecteur
USB.
1.4 Pour raccorder le récepteur à votre
PC via le raccord PS/2, procédez
comme suit
Si vous raccordez le récepteur à l'aide de l'adaptateur à la douille PS/2 du PC, vous devez d'abord
mettre le PC hors service.
¾ Connectez la fiche PS/2 de l'adaptateur USB-
PS/2 à la douille PS/2 du PC.

2 Utilisation simultanée de
plusieurs souris
En cas d'utilisation simultanée de plusieurs souris
dans un même espace, il peut se produire des perturbations de la transmission. Afin d'éviter ceci, la
transmission individuelle du signal de votre souris
vers le récepteur doit être activée.
2.1 Pour activer la transmission individuelle du signal entre la souris et le
récepteur, procédez comme suit
1 Appuyez brièvement sur la touche du récepteur.
La LED du récepteur s'allume et reste allumée
pendant env. une minute.
2 La LED étant allumée, appuyez sur la touche
située à la face inférieure de la souris avec un
objet pointu (exemple: porte-mine).
La LED du récepteur s'éteint. La transmission
individuelle du signal est activée.
La transmission de données entre la souris et le
récepteur est indiquée par un bref clignotement de
la LED.
Après un changement de piles, la transmission
individuelle du signal doit être à nouveau activée.
3 Installation de la souris sous
Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP
3.1 Pour installer le logiciel sous Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP, procédez
comme suit
1 Introduisez le CD-ROM Cherry d'accompagne-
ment dans votre lecteur de CD-ROM.
Le CD-ROM démarre automatiquement. La
fenêtre Ergo WheelMouse wireless optical
s'ouvre.

Si le CD-ROM ne démarre pas
automatiquement, sélectionnez le dossier
lecteur de CD-ROM | Software dans
l'Explorateur Windows et faites un double clic
avec la touche de gauche de la souris sur le
fichier Setup.exe.
L'installation commence.
2 Si le CD-ROM démarre automatiquement, cli-
quez sur l'entrée Lancer l'installation du logi-
ciel.
En fonction des réglages de votre navigateur
Internet, vous avez la possibilité d'enregistrer le
fichier ou de l'ouvrir.
3 Sélectionnez si possible l'option Ouvrir et cli-
quez sur le bouton de commande OK.

Si seule l'option Enregistrer le fichier est
disponible, coupez le dialogue et sélectionnez le
dossier lecteur de CD-ROM | Software dans
l'Explorateur Windows et faites un double clic
avec la touche de gauche de la souris sur le
fichier Setup.exe.
L'installation commence.
4 Suivez les instructions d'installation à l'écran.

Cherry optimise continuellement ses produits en
