A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from

cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in
their use. If a longer detachable power-supply extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at

any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the
line cord replaced. Please return it to an authorized service
representative.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place
undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray
and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE OR
IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR ELECTRIC BURNER
4
HOW TO USE YOUR ELECTRIC BURNER
1. Always place burner on a flat, level, heat-resistant, smooth surface and in
a safe area where it will not fall or be pulled on by the electrical cord.
Provide at least 6 to 10 inches of space above the unit and 4 to 6 inches of
space around the sides of unit for proper circulation.
2. Plug into electrical wall outlet and turn Temperature Control to desired
setting.
3. For best results, use pots and pans that are the same size as burner and
center the cooking utensil on burner.
NOTE: The single burner operates like a cooktop burner.
4. Turn unit to the “0” position and unplug from outlet to disconnect unit.
NOTE: The unit will remain on until the plug has been removed from the
outlet.
NOTE: Never operate burner in a tilted position or if the heating element
is not properly locked into position.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
• Before a burner is used for the first time, it should be heated up at maximum
setting for approximately 4 minutes without a pot. This will burn off any residues
on the burner plates.
• The burner may smoke the first time it is used – this is normal, and the smoke
will burn off within a few minutes.
• Do not leave the unit on without any pots/pans on the burners after the initial
burn-off process.
• Do not use as a portable heater.
• Make sure the power supply cord does not touch hot elements or cooking
utensils.
• For daily cooking, wipe excess water/condensation off pots, lids and utensils
prior to use.
• Make sure that hot pots or pans do not touch the housing; this could damage
the housing’s finish.
