1.Prerequisites
Kit, Controller Kit,UHF Bar Antenna (450-470
MHz), Lithium Battery,Extension pole,
Tribrach with optical plummet, Auxiliary H.I.
Tool, H.I. Tape,Tribrach adaptor,tripod
Software: SurvCE version beyond 4.90.26
2.Steps to set i80 working as base
in internal UHF mode with SurvCE
2.1 Base installation
Set up base on known point or unknown
point as shown in follow figure and screw bar
antenna on base receiver.
Note: If the PN on the back of base receiver
is end with “2231”, it means this receiver has
internal CHC radio inside and it can only be
used with CHC protocol. If the PN on the
back of base receiver is end with “1121”, it
means this receiver has internal Satel radio
inside and it can only be used with Satel
protocols.
2.2 Base setting in SurvCE
1. Power on the receiver
Long press the i80 power button until the
green and blue LED lights are on.
2. Click on [start] and then SurvCE
3. Click [Select New/Existing job]
4. Enter a job name and select a projection

5. Click on [Equip][2 GPS Base]
6. Click [Current] tab select
[Manufacturer] in CHCselect [Model] in i80
7. Click [Comms] tabselect [Type] in
Bluetoothselect [BT Type] in Windows
Mobile and then click the icon
8. After click the icon the follow
interface will show and click [Find Device] to
search BT device around

9. Click on the device that matches your
device serial number, then click the icon
10. Click on the icon to build up the
Bluetooth connection
11. Click [Receiver] tab to set the antenna
height info
Note: if you want to measured the slant
height of i80,please refer to the follow
figure.

12. Click [RTK] tab and set device to
[Internal UHF] and set the message type then
click icon
13. Set the parameters of Internal UHF
including protocol, power, channel, sensitivity
and over the air baud then click the icon
Note: the protocol and the frequency must
be the same between Base and Rover;the
base sensitivity should be low; remember to
tick Forward Error Correction.
14. Click the icon to finish the work
mode set
15. Then the base coordinates need to be
set and there is two ways to set the
coordinates
A:From known position

Users can use the former located points as
their base coordinates or input the known
points coordinates
B:From new position
Users can start base station at unknown point
by selecting [Read From GPS]
Set the points number need to be collected
then click the icon
After collecting,the interface will appear and
click [Yes] to start base
16. After start the base, the base file can be
saved or not

17. Please check the green LED of i80
whether is flashing.
If so, it means the base configuration is
successfully.
