Immediately upon receiving a fixture, carefully unpack the carton, check the contents to ensure that
all parts are present, and have been received in good condition. Notify the shipper immediately and
retain packing material for inspection if any parts appear damaged from shipping or the carton itself
shows signs of mishandling. Save the carton and all packing materials. In the event that a fixture
must be returned to the factory, it is important that the fixture be returned in the original factory box
and packing.
AC Power
This fi xtur e h as an aut o-s w itc hing power su pply that can accommoda te a wide range of in put
voltag es. The only thing n ec essary to do before powerin g on th e uni t is to mak e sur e the line volt ag e
you are applying is within the range of acc epted voltages. This fixture will accommodate between
100V and 240V AC. All fixtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit and cannot be run off a
rheostat (variable resistor) or dimmer circuit, even if the rheostat or dimmer channel is used solely for
a 0% to 100% swit c h.

•The unit must be installed in a location with adequate vent i l ation, at least 50cm (20in) fr om ad j ac ent
surfac es. Be sure that no ven t i l ati on slots are bloc k ed.
•Always disconnect from power source before servicing or replacing lamp or fuse and be sure to
replace with same lamp source.
•Secure fixture to fastening device using a safety chain. Never carry the fixture solely by its head. Use
its carrying handles.
•Maximum ambient temperature (Ta) is 104°F (40°C). Do not operate fixture at temperatures higher
than this.
•In the event of a s er i ous operating problem, stop using the unit immediately. Never try to repair the
unit by yourself. Repairs carried out by unskilled people can lead to damage or malfunction. Please
contact th e nearest auth or iz ed tec hn i cal assistance center. Al w ays u s e the s am e t ype spare parts.
• Don’t connect the device to a dimmer p ac k.
• Make sure the power cord is never crimped or damaged.

3.SETUP
Disconnect the power cord before replacing a fuse and always
replace with the same type fuse.
Fuse Replacement
With a flat-head screwdriver wedge the fuse
holder out of its housin g. Remove the dam aged
fuse from its h ol d er and replace wit h exac t
same type fuse. Insert the fuse holder back in
its place and reconnect power.
Data Linking
You will n eed a serial data link to run li g ht s h ows of on e or m ore fixtures usi ng a DM X-512 controller
or to run synchronized shows on two or more fixtures set to a master/slave operating mode. The
combined number of channels required by all the fixtures on a serial data link determines the number
of fix ture s the data link can support.

Navigating the Menu

Standalone Mode (S ou n d-Active, Auto Mode):

mode. To change it into auto mode when there is sound present, then simply turn the

mode. Plugging in a DMX c able that is connected to a DMX controller will automatically
disable standalone mode and put the fixture into DMX mode.

Dip Switch Position DMX Address
This DMX mode enables the use of a universal DMX controller device. Each fixture requires a start address
from 1 to 512. Choose start ad dresses so that the channels us ed do not overl ap, and note the st art ad dr ess
selected for future reference. If you are unfamiliar with DMX, download the DMX Primer from
www.chauvetlighting.com.

5.APPENDIX
Maintenance
To maint ain op t i mu m p erformanc e and min i mi z e we ar , products sh ould be cleaned at least t wice a
month. Dust build up reduces light output performance and can cause overheating. This can lead to
reduc ed lam p life and incr eas ed mec h an i cal wear. Be sur e t o power off f i xture before cond uc ting
maintenance.
Unplug fixture from power. Us e a vac uu m or air compressor and a sof t brus h t o r em ov e dus t
collect ed on ext ernal vents and int er n al c om p onents. Clean all glass wh en th e fixture is cold with a
mild solution of glass cleaner or Isopropyl Alcohol and a soft lint free cotton cloth or lens tissue. Apply
solution to the cloth or tissue and drag dirt and grime to the outside of the lens. Gently polish optical
surfac es un til they are fr ee of h az e and li nt .
The clean in g of internal and ext er n al op t ical lenses and/or mirr ors m u st be carried out periodically to
optimi z e ligh t output. Clean i ng frequenc y dep en ds on the environ m ent in w hic h th e fi xtu re operates:
damp, smoky or particularly dirty surrounding can cause greater accumulation of dirt on the unit’s
optics. Clean with soft cl oth using n orm al gl ass cl eaning flui d. - Always dry the parts carefully. - Clean
the external optics at leas t e very 20 days. Cl ean the internal opt ics at least every 30/60 days .
Returns

Package must be clearly labeled with a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA #).
Products returned without an RMA # will be refused. Call CHAUVET® and request RMA # prior t o
shippi ng th e fixture. Be pr ep ared to provide the model number, serial number and a brief description
of the cause for the return. Be sure to properly pack fixture, any shipping damage resulting from
inadequate packaging is the customer’s responsibility. CHAUVET® reserves the right to use its own
discretion to repair or replace product(s). FedEx packing or double-boxing are recommended.
Note: If you are given an RMA #, please include the following information on a piece of
paper inside the box:

5) A brief description of the symptoms
Claims
Damage incurred in shipping is the responsibility of the shipper; therefore the damage must be
report ed t o the c arr ier upon recei pt of m erc handise, not CHAUVET®. It is the customer's
responsibility to notify and submit claims with the shipper in the event that a fixture is damaged due to
shipping. Any other claim for items such as missing component/part, damage not related to shipping,
and concealed damage, must be made within 7 days of receiving m er c h andise.
