LEDs gradually decli ne in brightness over time, mostly becaus e of heat. LEDs packaged in
clusters exhibit higher o perating temperatures th an si ngle LEDs . Using clustered LEDs at the ir
fullest intensity significantly reduces their lifespan, which under normal circumstances is
40,000 to 50,000 hours. If extend ing this lifespan is vital, lower the oper ating temperature by
improving the ventilation around the product and reducing the ambient temperature to an
optimal operating range. In addition, limiting the overall projection intensity might help to
extend the LEDs’ lifespan.
