12 Month Warranty

Chattanooga Group ("Company") warrants that the ColPaC®C-2, C-5, and C-6 Master Chilling Unit(s) ("Product") is free
of defects in material and workmanship. This warranty shall remain in effect for one (1) year from the date of original
consumer purchase of this Product and extends to any owner of the Product during the warranty period. If this
Product fails to function during the one year warranty period because of a defect in material and/or workmanship,
Company or the selling dealer will replace or repair this Product without charge within a period of 30 days from the
date on which the defective Product is returned to the Company or the dealer. Company or the dealer will ship the
replacement or the repaired Product to the consumer's residence.

This Warranty Does Not Cover

1. Replacement parts or labor furnished by anyone other than the Company, the dealer or an approved Company
service agent.

2. Defects or damage caused by labor furnished by someone other than Company, the dealer or an approved
Company service agent.

3. Any malfunction or failure in the Product while it is in the possession of the owner during the warranty period if
the malfunction or failure is not caused by a defect in material or workmanship, or if the malfunction or failure is
caused by unreasonable use, including the failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance.

Company Shall Not Be Liable for Incidental or Consequential Damages to Property or Business

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation
or exclusion may not apply to you.

TO OBTAIN SERVICE from Company or the selling dealer under this warranty, the owner must do or abide by the
following:

1. A written claim must be made within the warranty period to the Company or the selling dealer. If the claim is made
to the Company, written claim should be sent to:

2. The Product must be returned to the Company or the selling dealer by the owner.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
The Company does not authorize any person or representative to create for it any other obligation or liability in

connection with the sale of the Product. Any representation or agreement not contained in the warranty shall be void
and of no effect.

Foreword

This manual has been prepared for the owners and operators of the ColPaC Models C-2, C-5, and C-6 Master
Chilling Units. It contains instruction on operation, precautions, maintenance and parts information. To obtain
maximum life and efficiency from your ColPaC C-2, C-5, and C-6 units, and to aid in its proper operation, read and
understand this manual thoroughly and follow all instructions prior to operating the unit.

The specifications put forth in this manual were in effect at the time of publication. However, owing to Chattanooga
Group's policy of continuous improvement, changes to these specifications may be made at any time without
obligation on the part of Chattanooga Group.

Precautionary Instructions

1. CAUTION: Read, understand and practice the Precautionary and Operating Instructions. Know the limitations

associated with the ColPaC Master Chilling Units. Observe the cautionary and operational decals
installed on the units.

2. CAUTION: Do not place chemical activated and/or instant freeze type packs in the ColPaC Master Chilling Unit.

This type of pack may break and cause corrosive damage to the freezer compartment and refrigeration
system.

3. WARNING: Make certain that the unit is electrically grounded by connecting to a grounded electrical service

receptacle conforming to the applicable national and local electrical codes.

Instructions for Patient Care and Comfort

1. Know the cooling characteristics of the ColPaC.

2. Exercise extreme care when applying the ColPaC.

3. Know your patient: Use extreme care when applying ColPaCs to areas where the patient may have loss of feeling.

4. Always instruct the patient to inform you if the ColPaC is too cold.

5. Always place one or more layers of dampened, thin towel between the skin and the ColPaC if the application
becomes painful. A warm, damp towel reduces the initial shock of the cold application.

6. Use care and judgment when applying ColPaCs to infants and elderly. Constantly check the temperature of the
ColPaCs.

7. Exercise extreme caution when applying ColPaCs to patients with thin skin or to "bony" areas: shoulders, elbows,
knees, etc.

8. Do not use the ColPaC in the presence of poor circulation or open wounds.

9. Carefully monitor the first treatment with the ColPaC and adapt the method of application to the tolerance and
needs of the patient.

10. Tolerance of cold, like tolerance of heat, will vary from patient to patient.

11. During treatment, frequently check the condition of the patient and the area being treated.

12. Patient should not sit, lie or sleep on the ColPaC.

13. Treatment time should not exceed 30 minutes.

General Information

Listen carefully after connecting the unit to the electrical power to make sure the compressor goes into operation
immediately. A light frost covering should form on the dividers in the chilling chamber. Insert the individual ColPaCs
between the dividers in the chilling chamber and close the lid. The various ColPaCs are shown below.

The initial ColPaC chilling, starting from room temperature, will require several hours. The time needed to re-chill the
ColPaC after use on a patient will depend on the length of time in use with the patient and the time out of the unit.
Normally a short time is required for re-chilling your ColPaCs.

Note: While in operation, the top of the unit will become warm because of a specially designed heating system
installed under the top rim. This is to eliminate condensation of moisture around the top of the unit.

Care of ColPaCs

Always return the ColPaC to the chilling chamber after each treatment where it is kept chilled, clean and ready for
immediate use. The ColPaC may be cleaned by scrubbing it with soap and water. It is best not to fold the ColPaC for
storage. If the outside plastic cover of the ColPaC should become torn or cut, minor repairs may be made with plastic
or vinyl tape. Clean the surface carefully and apply tape at room temperature. Always replace ColPaCs when the
plastic covering becomes damaged beyond repair. Original ColPaCs may be ordered from an authorized Chattanooga
Group dealer.

The temperature of the ColPaC, when chilled, is approximately 10° F to 21° F (-6° C to -12° C). Be familiar with the
cooling characteristics of the ColPaC.

General Operating Instructions

The ColPaC Master Chilling Unit is simple and easy to operate. The thermostat controls the temperature of the chilling
chamber . It is located in the rear of the unit, behind the removable panel. The refrigeration system of the ColPaC
Master Chilling Unit has been adjusted, tested and calibrated to chill the ColPaCs to a temperature between 10° F to
21° F (-6° C to -12° C). Extensive clinical testing and observation have shown this to be the optimum temperature
range. It is recommended that this adjustment not be altered until the ColPaC unit and the ColPacs have been used
for some time, and then only if adjustment of the chilling temperature is absolutely necessary. A slight adjustment can
be made by removing the rear panel and turning the adjustment knob on the thermostat. To lower the temperature
(colder), the knob should be turned clockwise. To raise the temperature (warmer), the knob should be turned slightly
counter-clockwise.

CAUTION: The thermostat is extremely sensitive and the slightest adjustment will alter the temperature several

degrees. The temperature of the chilling chamber should be checked with a thermometer after every
adjustment, before using the ColPaCs.

The ColPaC Master Chilling Unit operates through the use of a hydraulic capillary type thermostat and can be left
connected to the power source, providing a ready supply of chilled ColPaCs. Locate the unit away from humid areas
to avoid excessive frost build-up on the refrigeration coils.

General Operating Rules

• Always keep the ColPaCs in the chilling chamber of

This keeps the packs clean, chilled,

and ready for use, and prevents pack damage.

• Never place a damaged ColPaC into the chilling chamber of the unit.

• Check for ice/frost build-up daily and defrost unit when ColPaCs become crowded in chamber.

• Never adjust the thermostat too high or too low. See caution above.

• Always replace ColPaCs when the plastic covering becomes damaged beyond repair or when ColPaC becomes
firm or hard and not moldable around the area being treated. Minor repairs may be made with plastic or vinyl tape.

• If the unit is to be left unattended for an extended period of time, unplug and follow the defrosting procedures
found in the "Maintenance" section of this manual

• Always use factory authorized replacement parts.

• Always clean and sterilize ColPaCs, which are exposed to contamination. Do not sterilize ColPaCs with boiling
water. Gas sterilizing is not recommended. Alcohol or similar substance may be used to decontaminate the
packs.If any contamination is suspected, destroy the ColPaCs.

Installation

Remove all packing material inside the ColPaC chilling chamber. It is important to remove all loose pieces of paper
and other packing material, which might otherwise plug the drain! Make certain that the drain valve is closed.

Check the voltage rating on the serial plate which is located on the back of the unit. Plug the unit into properly
grounded outlet/power source. Do not attempt to use Direct Current (D.C.). Follow the procedures indicated in the
"Precautionary Instructions." Do not attempt to use the unit if it is not properly grounded.

Type B Equipment: An adequate degree of protection against electric shock is provided, particularly

regarding allowable leakage currents and reliability of protective earth connection.

Maintenance

Care of Unit

The ColPaC Master Chilling Unit is equipped with a hydraulic capillary type thermostat in order to maintain the proper
ColPaC temperature evenly in the chilling chamber. The unit may be left connected to the electrical outlet, providing
a ready supply of chilled ColPaCs.

Periodically, the accumulated frost in the chilling chamber will build up to a point where the ColPaCs are crowded and
insertion or removal of the packs becomes difficult. The units should be defrosted when this occurs and the inside of
the tank wiped dry with a clean towel or cloth.

Defrosting Unit

1. Disconnect the unit from its power source.

2. Raise the chamber lid and remove ColPaCs. Leave lid open to speed defrosting. A small amount of warm water
may be poured into the unit to speed defrosting.

3. Attach extension drain hose to the valve, located beneath chilling chamber, behind rear access panel.

4. Open bottom drain valve.

5. Allow unit to defrost completely. All excess water must be removed from the chilling chamber before the unit is
started again.

6. Close bottom drain valve and detach extension drain hose.

7. Plug unit back into the power source.

8. Clean and return ColPaCs to the chilling chamber.

9. Close chamber lid - chilling sequence begins again.

Dust and lint will accumulate on the condenser fins of the refrigeration unit. This must be removed periodically to
ensure highest efficiency. The condenser may be reached by removing the rear access panel. Always disconnect
power before cleaning the condenser.

Replacing Thermostat

1. Remove plate.

2. Remove bushing nut.

3. Remove packing in bushing nut.

4. Remove brass nut.

5. Remove rubber washer.

6. To reinstall, reverse procedure.

7. After installation, seal top of packing nut with silicone sealant.

Garantie

Die Chattanooga Group ("Firma") garantiert, daß ColPaC Modelle C-2, C-5 und C-6 Master Chilling Units ("Produkt") frei
von Materialfehlern und Herstellungsfehlern sind. Diese Garantie gilt für ein (1) Jahr vom Ankaufsdatum des Produktes
durch den ursprünglichen Kunden und erstreckt sich auf jeden Eigentümer des Produktes während der Garantiefrist.
Sollte sich das Produkt jedoch aufgrund eines Material- oder Produktionsfehlers innerhalb dieser Garantiefrist als
funktionsunfähig erweisen, wird die Firma oder der Händler dieses Produktes innerhalb von 30 Tagen von dem Datum
an, an dem das fehlerhafte Produkt an die Firma oder den Händler zurückgegeben wurde, kostenfrei ersetzen oder
reparieren. Die Firma oder der Händler wird das Ersatzgerät oder reparierte Produkt an den Kunden schicken.

Alle Reparaturen müssen von einem Dienstzentrum, das von der Chattanooga Group genehmigt wurde, durchgeführt
werden. Alle Änderungen oder Reparaturen, die von nicht autorisierten Zentren oder Gruppen durchgeführt werden,
lassen diese Garantie erlöschen. Um der Garantie teilhaftig zu werden, muß der dem Produkt beigefügte
Garantieschein ausgefüllt und an die Chattanooga Group vom ursprünglichen Eigentümer innerhalb von zehn
Werktagen vom Ankaufsdatum an, zurückgesendet werden.

Diese Garantie schließt nicht ein:

1. Ersatzteile oder Arbeiten, die von jemand anderem als der Firma, dem Händler oder einer autorisierten

Wartungsfirma geliefert oder ausgeführt werden.

2. Fehler oder Schäden, die von jemand anderem als der Firma, dem Händler oder einer autorisierten Wartungsfirma

verursacht werden.

3. Jede Störung oder jedes Versagen des Produktes, während es sich im Besitze des Eigentümers und innerhalb der

Garantiefrist befindet, wenn die Störung oder der Fehler nicht durch einen Material- oder Herstellungsfehler
verursacht wird, oder falls die Störung oder das Versagen durch unvernünftigen Gebrauch, einschließlich des
Vernachlässigens der ordentlichen und notwendigen Wartung, verursacht wird.

Die Firma ist in keiner Weise für Zufalls- oder Folgeschäden verantwortlich, weder am Eigentum noch am
Geschäft:

Manche Staaten erlauben solche Ausnahmen oder Beschränkungen von Zufalls- oder Folgeschäden nicht, und somit
ist es möglich, daß obgenannte Beschränkung oder Ausnahme nicht auf Sie zutrifft.

UM EINE DIENSTLEISTUNG unter dieser Garantie von der Firma oder dem Händler zu erhalten, muß der Eigentümer
nachfolgende Punkte befolgen:

1. Eine schriftliche Anspruchsforderung muß innerhalb der Garantiefrist an die Firma oder den Händler gerichtet

Chilling Units zusammengestellt. Sie enthält sowohl Gebrauchsanweisungen als auch Vorsichtsmaßregeln, Tips zur
Wartung und Informationen über die einzelnen Bestandteile. Um die höchstmögliche Lebensdauer und Effizienz Ihrer
ColPaC C-2, C-5 und C-6-Geräte zu erzielen, müssen Sie diese Gebrauchsanleitung gründlich lesen und verstehen und
alle hierin angegebenen Anleitungen befolgen, bevor Sie das Gerät in Betrieb nehmen.

Die Angaben, die in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung angegeben sind, waren zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung in Kraft.
Jedoch aufgrund der Taktik der Chattanooga Group, ständig Verbesserungen vorzunehmen, können jederzeit ohne
jegliche Haftung der Chattanooga Group Änderungen zu diesen Angaben vorgenommen werden,.

Vorsichtsmaßregeln

1. ACHTUNG::Bitte lesen, verstehen und befolgen Sie die Vorsichtsmaßregeln und Bedienungsanleitungen. Machen

Sie sich vertraut mit den Beschränkungen der ColPaC Master Chilling Geräte. Beachten Sie bitte die
Vorsichts- und Betriebsanzeigen, die in diesem Gerät installiert sind.

2. ACHTUNG::: Geben Sie niemals chemisch aktivierte und/oder Sofortgefrierpackungen in das ColPaC Master

Chilling Gerät. Diese Art Packung kann möglicherweise brechen und korrodierende Schäden am
Gefrierfach und Gefriersystem verursachen.

3. VORSICHT: Vergewissern Sie sich, daß das Gerät elektrisch geerdet ist, indem es an eine den staatlichen und

lokalen Vorschriften entsprechende Steckdose angeschlossen ist.

Anweisungen zur Versorgung des Patienten und dessen Komfort

1. Machen Sie sich mit den Kühleigenschaften des ColPaC vertraut.

2. Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig, wenn Sie das ColPaC anwenden.

3. Lernen Sie Ihren Patienten kennen: Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig, wenn Sie ColPaCs an Stellen anwenden, an

denen der Patient einen Gefühlsverlust aufweist.

4. Sagen Sie dem Patienten, er soll Ihnen sofort mitteilen, wenn das ColPaC zu kalt ist.

5. Legen Sie immer eines oder mehrere feuchte, dünne Handtücher zwischen die Haut und das ColPaC, wenn die

Anwendung schmerzhaft wird. Ein warmes, feuchtes Handtuch verringert den ursprünglichen Schock der
Kälteanwendung.

6. Seien Sie vorsichtig und überlegt, wenn Sie ColPaCs bei Kleinkindern und älteren Personen anwenden. Überprüfen

Sie ständig die Temperatur der ColPaCs.

7. Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig, wenn Sie ColPaCs bei Patienten mit dünner Haut oder an 'knochigen' Stellen

anwenden, wie zum Beispiel an den Schultern, Ellbogen, Knien, usw.

8. Verwenden Sie niemals ColPaCs bei schlechter Durchblutung oder offenen Wunden.

9. Kontrollieren Sie die erste Behandlung mit ColPaC sorgfältigst und passen Sie die Anwendung der Verträglichkeit

und den Bedürfnissen des Patienten an.

10. Die Verträglichkeit von Kälte ist, ebenso wie die Verträglichkeit von Wärme, von Patient zu Patient verschieden.

11. Überprüfen Sie während der Behandlung immer wieder den Zustand des Patienten und die zu behandelnde Stelle.

12. Der Patient sollte nicht auf dem ColPaC sitzen, liegen oder schlafen.

Allgemeine Information

Horchen Sie genau, nachdem Sie das Gerät an die Steckdose angeschlossen haben, ob der Kompressor auch sofort
zu arbeiten beginnt. Eine dünne Frostschicht sollte sich an den Unterteilungen der Kühlkammer bilden. Geben Sie die
einzelnen ColPaCs zwischen die Unterteilungen in der Kühlkammer und schließen Sie den Deckel. Die verschiedenen
ColPacs sind unten abgebildet.

Die ursprüngliche Kühlung der ColPacs mit Raumtemperatur beansprucht mehrere Stunden. Die Zeit zum Nachkühlen
der ColPaCs nach dem Gebrauch an einem Patienten hängt von der Gebrauchsdauer am Patienten ab und von der
Zeit, die die Packung außerhalb des Gerätes verbracht hat. Normalerweise dauert es nur kurze Zeit, um die ColPaCs
nachzukühlen.

Achtung: Während des Betriebes erwärmt sich der obere Teil des Gerätes, weil unter dem oberen Rand ein speziell
entworfenes Heizsystem eingebaut ist. Das hat den Zweck, die sich am oberen Rand des Gerätes bildende
Kondensationsflüssigkeit zu beseitigen

Wartung der ColPaCs

Geben Sie die ColPaCs nach jeder Behandlung immer zurück in die Kühlkammer, wo die Packungen kalt und sauber
bleiben und sofort wieder verwendungsfähig sind. Die ColPaCs können zwecks Reinigung mit Seife und Wasser
geschrubbt werden. Die ColPaCs dürfen bei der Aufbewahrung nicht gefaltet werden. Sollte die äußere Plastikhülle
einer ColPaC einen Riß bekommen, so können kleinere Reparaturen mit Hilfe von einem Plastik- oder Vinylband
vorgenommen werden. Reinigen Sie die Oberfläche sorgfältig und kleben Sie das Band bei Zimmertemperatur auf.
Sobald die Plastikumhüllung der ColPaCs in solch einem Umfang beschädigt wird, daß sie nicht mehr repariert werden
kann, muß die ColPaC ersetzt werden. Original ColPaCs können Sie bei der Handelsvertretung der Chattanooga Group
bestellen.

Die Temperatur einer gekühlten ColPaC beträgt ungefähr 10oF bis 21oF (-6oC bis -12oC). Machen Sie sich bitte mit
den Kühleigenschaften der ColPaC vertraut.

Allgemeine Bedienungsanleitungen

Das ColPaC Master Chilling Gerät ist einfach und leicht zu betreiben. Der Thermostat kontrolliert die Temperatur der
Kühlkammer. Dieser liegt an der Rückseite des Gerätes hinter einer entfernbaren Platte. Das Kühlsystem des ColPaC
Master Chilling Gerätes wurde so eingestellt, getestet und kalibriert, daß die ColPaCs eine Temperatur zwischen 10oF
bis 21oF (-6oC bis -12oC) erzielen. Weitreichende klinische Tests und Beobachtungen haben ergeben, daß dies der
optimale Temperaturbereich ist. Es wird empfohlen, diese Einstellung nicht zu ändern, ehe das ColPaC Gerät und die
ColPaCs nicht bereits über einen längeren Zeitraum in Gebrauch waren, und auch nur dann, wenn eine Neueinstellung
der Kühltemperatur sich als unbedingt notwendig erweist. Eine leichte Umstellung kann gemacht werden, indem die
Rückwand des Gerätes abgenommen wird und der Einstellknopf am Thermostat gedreht wird. Um die Temperatur zu
senken (kälter), muß der Knopf im Uhrzeigersinn gedreht werden. Um die Temperatur zu erhöhen (wärmer), muß der
Knopf leicht gegen den Uhrzeigersinn gedreht werden.

VORSICHT: Der Thermostat ist ein äußerst empfindliches Instrument und bereits die leichteste Umstellung wird

die Temperatur um einige Grade verändern. Daher sollte nach jeder Umstellung die Temperatur der
Kühlkammer mit einem Thermometer überprüft werden, bevor die ColPaCs verwendet werden.

Allgemeine Betriebsanleitungen

1. Bewahren Sie die ColPaCs immer in der Kühlkammer des Gerätes auf, wenn sie nicht in Verwendung sind.

2. Geben Sie niemals eine beschädigte ColPaC in die Kühlkammer des Gerätes.

3. Überprüfen Sie täglich die Eis-/Frostbildung und entfrosten Sie das Gerät, sobald die ColPaCs in der Kühlkammer

eingeengt werden.

4. Stellen Sie den Thermostat niemals zu hoch oder zu niedrig ein. Siehe Vorsichtsmaßregeln oben.

5. Ersetzen Sie immer ColPaCs, sobald die Plastikumhüllung in solch einem Ausmaß beschädigt ist, daß sie nicht mehr

repariert werden kann, oder wenn die ColPaCs fest und hart werden und sich nicht mehr an die zu behandelnde
Stelle anschmiegen. Kleinere Reparaturen können mit Hilfe von einem Plastik- oder Vinylband vorgenommen
werden.

6. Wenn das Gerät für längere Zeit außer Betrieb ist, ziehen Sie es aus der Steckdose und befolgen Sie das

Entfrostungsverfahren, wie es im Abschnitt "Wartung" dieser Betriebsanleitung erklärt wird.

7. Gebrauchen Sie immer nur von der Fabrik genehmigte Ersatzteile.

8. Reinigen und sterilisieren Sie immer ColPaCs, die mit Verunreinigungen in Berührung kommen. Sterilisieren Sie

niemals ColPaCs mit siedendem Wasser. Das Sterilisieren mit Gas wird nicht empfohlen. Alkohol und ähnliche
Substanzen können verwendet werden, um die Packungen zu reinigen und zu entseuchen. Wird jedoch eine
Verseuchung vermutet, vernichten Sie die ColPaC.

Installierung

Entfernen Sie alles Verpackungsmaterial aus der ColPaC Kühlkammer. Es ist wichtig, daß alle losen Papierstücke
sowie alle anderen Verpackungsmaterialien, die den Abfluß verstopfen könnten, vollständig entfernt werden!
Vergewissern Sie sich, daß das Abflußventil geschlossen ist.

Prüfen Sie die Spannung auf der Serienplatte, die sich auf der Rückwand des Gerätes befindet. Schließen Sie das
Gerät an eine ordnungsgemäß geerdete Steckdose an. Versuchen Sie nicht, Gleichstrom zu verwenden. Befolgen Sie
die Anweisungen in den "Vorsichtsmaßnahmen". Versuchen Sie nicht, das Gerät zu benutzen, wenn es nicht
ordnungsgemäß geerdet ist.

Erklärung der Symbole am Gerät

Achtung: Siehe beigefügte Unterlagen.
Typ B Ausstattung: Ein ausreichender Schutz gegen Elektroschock ist vorgesehen, insbesondere in

Bezug auf zugelassene Kriechströme und auf die Zuverlässigkeit der Schutzschalterverbindung.

Wartung

Wartung des Gerätes

Das ColPaC Master Chilling Gerät ist mit einem hydraulischen Kapillarthermostat ausgestattet, um die entsprechende
ColPaC Temperatur in der Kühlkammer aufrecht zu erhalten. Das Gerät kann an die Steckdose angeschlossen bleiben,
um gekühlte ColPaCs vorrätig zu halten.

Nach bestimmten Zeiträumen wird sich der Frost in der Kühlkammer so weit aufbauen, daß die ColPaCs eingeengt
werden und die Eingabe oder Herausnahme der Packungen schwierig wird. Wenn dieser Fall eintritt, muß das Gerät
entfrostet werden und die Innenseite des Tanks mit einem trockenen sauberen Handtuch oder Lappen abgewischt
werden.

Entfrosten des Gerätes

1. Ziehen Sie das Gerät aus der Steckdose.

2. Heben Sie den Deckel der Kammer hoch und entfernen Sie die ColPaCs. Lassen Sie den Deckel offen, um den

Abtauvorgang zu beschleunigen. Um den Abtauprozeß noch weiter zu beschleunigen, kann etwas warmes
Wasser in das Gerät gegossen werden,.

3. Befestigen Sie den Abflußschlauch am Ventil, das sich unterhalb der Kühlkammer hinter der Abdeckplatte befindet.

4. Öffnen Sie das untere Auslaßventil.

5. Lassen Sie das Gerät völlig abtauen. Alles überflüssige Wasser muß aus der Kühlkammer entfernt werden, bevor

das Gerät wieder gestartet werden kann.

6. Schließen Sie das untere Ablaufventil und entfernen Sie den Abflußschlauch.

7. Scließen Sie das Gerät wieder an die Steckdose an.

8. Reinigen Sie die ColPaCs und geben Sie diese wieder in die Kühlkammer.

9. Schließen Sie den Deckel - der Kühlvorgang beginnt wieder.

Staub und Flusen werden sich an den Kondensierungsrippen des Kühlaggregates ansetzen. Diese müssen von Zeit zu
Zeit entfernt werden, um eine hohe Effizienz zu gewährleisten. Das Kühlaggregat kann erreicht werden, indem die
rückwärtige Abdeckplatte abgenommen wird. Die Stromzufuhr muß immer abgeschaltet werden, bevor das
Kühlaggregat gereinigt wird.

Ersetzen des Thermostats

1. Entfernen Sie die Abdeckplatte.

2. Entfernen Sie die Buchsenmutter.

3. Entfernen Sie die Dichtung in der Buchsenmutter.

4. Entfernen Sie die Messingmutter.

5. Entfernen Sie die Gummidichtung.

6. Für die Wiederinstallierung den Prozeß in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wiederholen.

7. Nach der Installierung die Dichtungsmutter oben mit Silikon abdichten.

Chattanooga Group ("Société") garantit que les appareils de congélation ColPaC® Master C-2, C-5 et C-6 ("Produit")
n'ont pas de défauts de matériel ou de fabrication. Cette garantie est valable pour une (1) année à partir de la date
d'achat par l'utilisateur de Produit. Cette garantie est valable pour tout propriétaire de ce Produit pendant la période
de garantie. La Société ou le fournisseur remplacera ou réparera ce Produit gratuitement dans les 30 jours suivant le
renvoi du Produit à la Société ou au fournisseur, en cas de mauvais fonctionnement, pendant la période de garantie,
dû au matériel ou à une fabrication défectueuse. La Société ou le fournisseur renverra le Produit remplacé ou réparé

Précautions

1.ATTENTION: Consulter et observer les instructions et précautions. Observer les limites des appareils de

congélation ColPaC Master. Observer les instructions et précautions inscrites sur la plaque­firme et l'autocollant sur l'appareil.

2.ATTENTION: Ne pas utiliser de sachets chimiques ou de sachets de congélation instantanée dans l'appareil

de congélation ColPaC Master. Les sachets de ce genre peuvent casser et causer des
dommages corrosifs.

3.AVERTISSEMENT: Vérifier que l'appareil est relié à la terre en le branchant dans une prise de terre

conforme aux normes électriques nationales.

Instructions opératoires pour le soin et le confort du patient

1. Connaître les caractéristiques de refroidissement du ColPaC.

2. Appliquer le ColPaC avec grande prudence.

3. Connaître votre patient: appliquer les ColPaCs avec prudence aux parties avec démunies de sensation.

4. Demander au patient de vous informer si le ColPaC est trop froid.

5. Placer plusieurs couches de serviettes humides entre la peau du patient et le ColPaC si le traitement devient

douloureux. Une serviette tiède et humide réduira le choc initial de l'application froide.

6. Appliquer les ColPaCs avec beaucoup de prudence sur les enfants et personnes âgées. Contrôler continuellement

la température des ColPaCs.

7. Appliquer les ColPaCs avec beaucoup de prudence sur les patients avec la peau mince ou sur des parties osseuses:

épaule, coude, genou, etc.

8. Ne pas utiliser de ColPaC en cas de mauvaise circulation ou sur des plais ouvertes.

9. Surveiller soigneusement la première application avec le ColPaC ; ajuster le traitement à la tolérance et aux besoins

du patient.

10. La tolérance au froid comme la tolérance au chaud varie d'un patient à l'autre.

11. Surveiller régulièrement pendant le traitement l'état du patient et de la partie traitée.

12. Ne pas s'asseoir, se coucher ou dormir sur le ColPaC.

13. La durée du traitement ne doit pas excéder 30 minutes.

Information Générale

Contrôler que le compresseur s'allume dans les 4 premières minutes après le branchement de l'appareil. Une fine
couche de givre couvrira les surfaces internes du compartiment frigorifiant. Insérer les ColPaCs individuels entre les
diviseurs dans le compartiment frigorifiant et fermer le couvercle. Les différents ColPaCs sont illustrés ci-dessous.

Le refroidissement initial du ColPaC prendra quelques heures en partant de la température ambiante. Le temps
nécessaire pour refroidir le ColPaC après usage sur un patient dépend de la durée du traitement et du temps où le
ColPaC se trouve hors de l'appareil de congélation. Normalement une courte durée de refroidissement suffit pour
refroidir le ColPaCs.

Attention: Le couvercle de l'appareil devient chaud quand il est en marche à cause d'un système spécial sous le bord

du couvercle. Ce système est spécialement conçu pour éliminer la condensation sur le haut de l'appareil.

Entretien des ColPaCs

Toujours replacer les ColPaCs dans le compartiment frigorifiant de l'appareil après chaque traitement. Ils y seront
maintenus au froid, propres et disponibles à l'usage immédiat. Nettoyer le ColPaC avec du savon et de l'eau. Ne pas
plier le ColPaC. Réparer les petites déchirures de la housse en plastique du ColPaC avec du ruban adhésif en plastique
ou en vinyle. Nettoyer soigneusement la surface et appliquer le ruban adhésif à une température ambiante. Remplacer
le ColPaC quand la housse en plastique n'est plus réparable. Commander les ColPaCs auprès d'un fournisseur autorisé
par Chattanooga Group

La température du ColPaC frigorifié varie entre 10° F et 21° F (-6° C et -12° C). Familiarisez-vous avec les
caractéristiques frigorifiantes du ColPaC.

Instructions Opératoires

L'appareil ColPac Master est facile à utiliser. Le thermostat contrôle la température du compartiment frigorifiant. Il se
trouve à l'arrière de l'appareil, derrière le panneau amovible. Le système de congélation de l'appareil a été réglé, testé
et calibré pour frigorifier les ColPaCs à une température entre 10° F et 21° F (-6° C et -12° C). Cette température a été
identifiée comme la température idéale dans des expériences et dans la pratique. Ne pas changer ce réglage avant
d'avoir utilisé l'appareil pendant un certain temps. Changer le réglage uniquement en cas d'absolue nécessité.
Changer le réglage du thermostat en tournant le bouton de réglage derrière le panneau amovible. Tourner le bouton
dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre pour baisser la température (plus froid) et en sens inverse des aiguilles d'une
montre pour l'augmenter (plus chaud).

ATTENTION: Le thermostat est très sensible et le moindre réglage changera la température de plusieurs degrés.

La température du compartiment frigorifiant doit être vérifiée avec un thermomètre après chaque
réglage, avant l'emploi des ColPaCs.

L'appareil frigorifiant ColPaC Master fonctionne avec un thermostat hydraulique capillaire et peut rester branché pour
assurer une disponibilité constante de ColPaCs frigorifiés. Ne pas placer l'appareil dans une pièce humide pour éviter
que les bobines de réfrigération se couvrent de givre.

Instructions Opératoires Générales

1. Garder les ColPaCs dans le compartiment frigorifiant de l'appareil quand ils sont hors d'usage. Ils y resteront

propres, froids et disponibles à l'usage immédiat.

2. Ne jamais mettre un ColPaC abîmé dans le compartiment frigorifiant de l'appareil.

3. Contrôler tous les jours qu'il n'y a pas trop de givre. Dégivrer l'appareil quand il y a trop de glace à l'intérieur.

4. Ne pas régler le thermostat trop haut ou trop bas. Voir avertissement ci-dessus.

5. Remplacer le ColPaCs quand la housse en plastique est trop abîmée pour être réparée ou quand le ColPaC est dur

et n 'est plus malléable. De petites réparations peuvent être faites en utilisant du ruban adhésif en plastique ou
en vinyle.

6. Si l'appareil est hors d'usage pendant un certain temps, débrancher l'appareil et suivre les instructions de dégivrage

dans la section "Entretien" de ce mode d'emploi.

7. Utiliser toujours des pièces de remplacement autorisées par l'usine.

8. Nettoyer et stériliser les ColPaCs contaminés. Ne pas stériliser les ColPaCs avec de l'eau bouillante. La stérilisation

au gaz n'est pas recommandée. Utiliser de l'alcool ou des produits similaires pour stériliser les ColPaCs. Détruire
le ColPaC en cas de contamination sérieuse.

Installation

Oter le matériel d'emballage du compartiment frigorifiant du ColPaC. Il est important d'enlever tous les morceaux de
papier et restes d'emballage qui peuvent bloquer le trou d'évacuation. Contrôler que le robinet de drainage est fermé

Contrôler le voltage sur la plaque-firme à l'arrière de l'appareil. Brancher l'appareil à une prise de terre. NE PAS utiliser
de courant continu (D.C.). Observer les instructions et précautions. NE PAS utiliser l'appareil sans qu'il soit
correctement mis à la masse.

Explication des Symboles

Attention: Consulter les documents accompagnateurs.
Appareil Type B: Indique le niveau de protection contre une décharge électrique, en particulier en ce

qui concerne les fuites de courant acceptables et l'efficacité de la mise à la terre protectrice.

Entretien

Soins de l'appareil

L'appareil frigorifiant ColPaC Master est équipé d'un thermostat hydraulique de type capillaire qui maintient la bonne
température dans le compartiment frigorifiant. L'appareil peut rester branché au réseau pour assurer une disponibilité
constante de ColPaCs froids.

Périodiquement il y aura une accumulation de glace et de givre dans l'appareil qui peut coincer les ColPaC. Dégivrer
l'appareil et essuyer l'intérieur avec un torchon propre.

Dégivrage de l'appareil

1. Débrancher l'appareil de l'alimentation électrique.

2. Soulever le couvercle de l'appareil et enlever les ColPaCs. Laisser le couvercle ouvert pour accélérer le dégivrage.

Verser un peu d'eau chaude dans l'appareil pour un dégivrage plus rapide.

3. Attacher un tuyau au robinet de drainage sous le compartiment frigorifiant derrière le panneau d'accès.

4. Ouvrir le robinet de drainage.

5. Laisser l'appareil dégivrer complètement. Enlever toute l'eau du compartiment frigorifiant avant de remettre

l'appareil en marche.

6. Fermer le robinet de drainage et détacher le tuyau d'échappement.

7. Brancher l'appareil à l'alimentation électrique.

8. Nettoyer et retourner les ColPaCs dans le compartiment frigorifiant.

9. Fermer le couvercle de l'appareil - la cycle de congélation recommencera.
De la poussière s'accumulera sur les ailettes du condensateur de l'appareil frigorifiant. Nettoyer périodiquement pour

assurer un meilleur rendement. Le condensateur est accessible en enlevant le panneau d'accès à l'arrière de l'appareil.
T oujours débrancher l'appareil avant de nettoyer le condensateur.

Remplacement du thermostat

1. Enlever le panneau.

2. Enlever l'écrou de la bague.

3. Enlever la rondelle dans la bague.

4. Enlever l'écrou en laiton.

5. Enlever la rondelle en caoutchouc.

6. Réinstaller en sens inverse.

7. Après l'installation, isoler le haut de l'écrou avec un produit d'étanchéité en silicone.
