Adjusting the volume

Be sure to adjust the volume before
mounting the SI-8000

1. Detect Door Station & Verify Network settings

1-1. Connect your IP door station to your PoE switch or router(if using optional 12vDC

power supply) via cat5e or cat6, then launch the Channel Vision IP upgrade tool.

Click on the search button to find the IP address of your door station. 192.168.1.199 by default.

1-2. Verify your computer's LAN settings

from a command prompt.

●

The easiest way to get to a command prompt on a Windows machine is to press

win+R on your keyboard. Hold the windows key down and then press R.

●

After pressing the win+R key combination, you will type “cmd” and press OK to get to
the command prompt.

1-3. Once In the command prompt you will type “ipconfig” and press enter to find the IP
information of your LAN (your IP address, Subnet mask, IP address of your router)

●

Make sure you write down your IP address, your subnet mask and your

default gateway (router address) so you can reference them later.

1-4. Compare your IP address (pictured above) with the IP address of your door station
(pictured below). If the first three octets (192.168.1.x) of your computer match the first three
octets (192.168.1.x) of your door station you can proceed to step 4. If they don't match, you
can refer to the “changing network settings” portion of this manual.

Note: Do not proceed to step 3 until you have verified your computer and door station are on the
same network

2. Accessing and configuring the user interface

2-1. Open an internet explorer Web browser, type the IP address of your door station into the

address bar at the top and press enter to access the user interface.

2-2: Enter your user name and password to access the user interface. The default user name
is “admin” and default password is “123456”

2-3. LAN settings

IP: must be a unique IP address with the first three octets (192.168.1.x) matching the first

three octets of your Gateway address. The last octet (x) can be any number between 2 and
254 as long as no other device on the network is assigned to that address.

Mask: The default mask is 255.255.255.0
Most simple networks that don't require more than 254 usable IP addresses will use this mask
by default.

Gateway: The gateway is the IP address of your router, think of it as your devices gateway to
get out of the local area network (LAN). It tells your devices where to send information if it
needs to go to another network or the internet.

DNS: you can use the free Google DNS server address of 8.8.8.8

Server IP: This is the address of the PC that is running the additional management software

(not required for most setups).

Password: the password used to login to the management software(not required for a basic
configuration).

NTP: Network Time Protocol is used to sync the devices clock. You can use a local server in
your area.

Note: Any time you change your settings, you must click the submit button before leaving
the page.

2-4. Device Settings

BuildNo: Building number. Must match your indoor monitor.

UnitNo: Unit number. Must match your indoor monitor.

Floor: Floor number. Must match your indoor monitor.

RoomNo: Room Number. Must match your indoor monitor.

No: Unique number for the outdoor panel (can be any number between 1 & 9). You can have a

maximum of 9 door stations for one house.

Sys passwd: Login password (default is 123456).

Panel mode: There are 3 different panel modes; Unit panel, Wall panel, & Person panel.

Person Panel: Used to call the indoor monitor in a single house or building. (This is the option

you choose if installing a single family home).

Wall Panel: Used to call the management center in the guard station.

●

Unit Panel: For commercial applications.

Ring back: you can choose 4 different ring back tones for the outdoor panel.

Language: Choose which language you want to use.

Volume: The volume of the ring back tone on the outdoor panel. You can choose 1-6.

TZ: Set your time zone.

Forward: Select one by one(sequential order) or all at once.

Note: Any time you change your settings, you must click the submit

button before leaving the page.

2-5: Access Settings

Unlock timeout: Time delay in seconds from when you activate the door unlock to when it

triggers

the strike. You can choose 1- 9 seconds.

Unlock delay: Amount of time in seconds the door lock stays open. You can choose 0 – 9.

Elev refer: It is reserved for high rise buildings.

Admin Card: It is reserved for high rise building administration.

Security ON/OFF: Check the box for security on.

Unlock Password: set up to eight different unlock passwords.

Note: Any time you change your settings, you must click the submit button before leaving

the page.

2-6: SIP Settings(found under VOIP tab)

SIP enable: Leave the box unchecked.

Proxy: URL of your SIP proxy server/server.

Realm: URL of your SIP Authentication server.

Outbound: URL of your outbound proxy server.

Stun IP: URL of the STUN server.

Stun Port: Port used to setup phone calls to a VOIP provider outside the

local network.

User: Your user name for your SIP account.

Password: Password for your SIP account.

Bit-rate:The number of bits per second the unit will use to transmit voice

and data. We recommend 512k. These settings must match on all

devices(indoor monitor, cell phone ).

Timeout: Amount of time in seconds the door station will attempt to

connect to a SIP server.

Ring Time: Amount of time in seconds the unit will ring.

Host2id: Not important.

Note: Any time you change your settings, you must click the submit button before leaving the

2-7: Forward Account Settings

RoomNo: Enter the same room number you have in your device settings.

Account: Enter the URL your registered SIP account to transfer the call to. These settings

are very important if you don't have a touch screen room station installed

(using only a mobile device).

Forwarding to multiple devices

The SI-8000 can forward a call to multiple devices; either one at a time or all at once.

to enter two accounts, all you have to do is separate the two with a semi-colon and

a space (see example 1 below).

Voice GW: used to connect to an off-site SIP service.

This is where you go to reset the unit to default settings, restore from backup, or backup your
current settings.
