Operation:
Plug the AB-303 output (do no use input) into the System Input on the back of the AB-
412. To pair to the AB-303, consult instructions on pairing supplied with your Bluetooth device. The Bluetooth LIM identification code will have the prefix AB in front of the individual code number. When pairing occurs, a blue LED will light up on the front plate. For systems with multiple AB-303s, it is recommended the codes be changed to easily identify each room before completing installation.
Operating Range:
Bluetooth devices are intended to provide wireless communication between enabled devices within a room. In ideal conditions, range can be up to 50’ This distance can be reduced significantly by transmission interference from other communication devices, electrical wiring and room construction materials, such as brick walls and concrete floors. When the AB-303 is operating near maximum range, the signal may intermittently drop in and out, as signal strength varies.
Bluetooth Source Volume Level Compatibility:
The audio output level from Bluetooth enabled devices can vary from brand to brand. Though the AB-303 has been adjusted to be equal to the output of most Bluetooth devices, in some cases the level may be different. Most devices have their own adjustable volume level, and it is recommended that this be used to adjust the output level to match the main audio source’s volume level.
Room Identification:
Pairing each AB-303 requires the identification of an individual code number beginning with the prefix AB (ABxxx). This code number can be replaced with an individual room name identification such as Bedroom 1, Study, Patio, etc. prior to installation. To download the renaming software visit www.a-bus.com/bt. Once downloaded and installed, connect the AB-303 via the mini USB socket located at the side of the unit to your PC and start the program, follow the on screen prompts to rename the device.
The AB-303 A-BUS Bluetooth local input module provides a local wireless input connection for the purpose of streaming audio from sources such as smart-phones, tablets and computers, etc with Bluetooth capability to individual A-BUS equipped rooms. When the AB-303 is paired, it will automatically switch the music source from the main audio source to the local Bluetooth source. This local connection will remain until pairing is disconnected, or the Bluetooth device is out of range. If pairing remains selected on the Bluetooth device, when it comes back into range, the connection will automatically reconnect and play audio in the zone.

Problem: Hum in System
Troubleshooting: Plug all parts of the system into the same outlet to see if the hum goes away.
Try lifting the ground with a ground lifting plug.
Possible Cause: The different components in the system are connected to different electrical grounds. This forces electrical currents to find alternate paths to ground causing an audible 60Hz hum.
Solution: Plug products into an electrical circuit with a common ground.
Problem:
Troubleshooting:
1. Restart Bluetooth source device
2. Check Source device is connected to Wifi
3. Check the music source is active before pairing
4. The blue LED indicates when devices are paired
5. Try a different A-BUS source.
6. Make sure Bluetooth device is in play mode
Not linking with Bluetooth device or Linking with no audio is present.
Problem:
Troubleshooting: Verify you have connected the CAT5 cable correctly. Follow the TIA-568A
standard at both ends. Mis-wiring can cause distorted sound, prevent the system from functioning, or possibly cause damage to the components in the system. Verify you have connected the speakers in phase. Follow the label on the product. Out of phase speakers can rob the system of its bass, especially when driving dual-voice-coil speakers. If no audio is heard, check to make sure that the audio source is playing, then press the power button on the AB-135 to make sure it is turned on.

Cat-5 cables: Use RJ-45 connectors that are wired for the TIA568A
standard. (Using the TIA568B wiring configuration will work, but the left and right audio information will be reversed).
Expansion Output: Use this to expand to an additional AB-412. This connector only provides audio signals to an additional AB-412. It cannot be used to directly connect a 3rd AB-135 to the system.
Volume indicators: The LEDs indicate the volume level. If the Status is <off>, the LEDs will be dark. Pressing the UP/DOWN keys will light the LEDs for a short period to show the stored volume level.

Problem: CAT5 audio input (AB-303 or other device) is not working.
Troubleshooting: Verify you have plugged the CAT5 output on the AB-303 or other A-Bus input
module into the input on the back of the AB-412. Verify you have plugged the zone 1 or zone 2 output of the AB-412 into the input on the back of the AB-135.
Possible Cause: AB-303 or other A-Bus input module is not connected properly, wire crimped improperly or plugged into the wrong terminal.
Solution: Verify wiring, verify RJ-45 crimps
Problem: RCA Audio input is not working.
Troubleshooting: Verify source audio is playing, or try another audio source Check speaker
wires to verify nothing is backwards or crossed.
Possible Cause: There is no signal (or very weak signal) coming from the source, or source is not compatible with AB-412
Solution: Make sure the source audio is playing. Try a different source.
