FOLLOW THESE RULES AND LIVE:
1. Perfor m as much antenna assembly on the ground
as possible.
2. Watch out for overhead power lines. Check the distance
to the power lines before you start installing–

TWICE THE MAXIMUM LENGTH OF THE ANTENNA
ASSEMBLY AWAY FROM ALL POWER LINES.
3. Do not use a metal ladder.
4. Remember, even the slightest touch of an antenna to a
power line can cause a fatal shock.
5. Don’t try to do the job on a windy day.
6. Have a friend as a spotter when you’re on the roof.They
can see things you can’t.
7. If you start to drop an antenna, get away from it and let
it fall.
8. If any part of the antenna should come in contact with a
power line–CALL YOUR LOCAL POWER COMPANY:
DON’T TRY TO REMOVE IT YOURSELF! They will
remove it safely.
9. Mast, lead-in and metal guy wires are excellent conductors of electrical current. Keep them away from power
lines too.
10. Be sure your family and friends understand the danger
of touching an overhead power line. Tell them never to
try to remove any object in contact with a power line –
CB, TV antenna or anything else.
11. Make sure that the antenna mast assembly is properly
grounded.
GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
MAST MOUNTED ANTENNAS
1. Assemble your new antenna on the ground at the
installation site. Keep separate assembly instructions
that come with it.
2. On the ground, clamp antenna to mast, pull enough TV
lead-in and connect to antenna.
3.To ensure that a mast does not fall the “wrong way” if it
should get away during installation or take down, durable
non-conductive rope should be secured at each ten foot
level as the mat is raised.The boss stands in a position
where he can yank or pull the ropes if the need arises to
deflect the falling mast away from hazards (such as
power lines) into a “safe fall” (such as a yard or driveway).The ropes are tied taut at the base of the mat after
installation and in place at the various levels.
4. Install selected mounting bracket.
5. If you are going to use guy wire installation instead of a
mounting bracket:
• install guy anchor bolts
• estimate length of guy wire and cut
• attach to mast using guy ring
6. Carefully take antenna and mast assembly to mounting
bracket and insert.Tighten clamp bolts. In case of
guyed installation, it will be necessary to have at least
a second person hold the mast upright while the guy
wires are attached and tightened to the anchor bolts.

channels in most viewing locations.The moder n styling is
unobtrusive and blends well with the decor of homes and
condominiums.
Model 3000A has omnidirectional characteristics to
provide reception where stations are in different directions without the use of a rotator system.
SMARTenna®includes an internal amplifier to improve
reception in weak signal locations. It is also very advantageous where the signal from the antenna is split to
several TV sets.

IMPORTANT: Risk of electrocution. Carefully read the yellow danger labels located in the
corner of the antenna carton. Attach labels to the bottom of the antenna and onto the mast.
Read the instructions fully to understand all warnings before attempting to install antenna.
ANTENNA SITE SELECTION (PLACEMENT AND POINTING)
Select where the antenna is to be placed. Rotate the antenna to receive the
desired reception. It may be necessary to try several antenna positions for
optimum performance and to eliminate ghosting due to multi-path reception
caused by signal reflections.

Step 1: To attach the mounting bracket to the antenna,
align bracket notches with pins on bottom of antenna as
shown in Figure 1.With a ⁵⁄₁₆” nutdriver and the ⁵⁄₁₆” hex
screws provided, attach
bracket to bottom of antenna.

Step 2: To mount the antenna onto the mast,
attach U-bolt assembly to mounting bracket as
shown in Figure 2, and mount antenna to mast
by tightening U-bolts with a ⁷⁄₁₆” nutdriver or
wrench.

Step 3: Connect and tighten coaxial downlead
to connector on bottom of antenna and slide
weather boot snugly over boot collar as shown
in Figure 3.

Step 4: Mount the power injector to a convenient
surface behind the TV set using the #6 ¹⁄₂” screw
provided. Connect the coaxial downlead from the
antenna to the injector’s amplifier input labeled
“TO AMP.” Next connect the 6 ft. coaxial cable
provided from the injector output labeled “TO TV”
to the TV set as shown in Figure 4.Plug the
power supply into a 117 VAC outlet.
Note: When the signal is to be split to two more TV
sets, connect a splitter (not provided) to the injector
output “TO TV.” Connect the TV sets to the splitte
outputs using 75 ohm coaxial cable as shown in
Figure 5. Use Channel Master 2-way (Model 3212),
3-way (Model 3213), and 4-way (Model 3214) splitters.

17. Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this video product from the
wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the
following conditions:
A. When the power cord or plug is damaged.
B. If video product has been exposed to rain or water.
C. If the video product does operate nor mally by following the operating
instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating

20. Grounding or Polarization - This video product is equipped with a
polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider
than the other).This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way.This
is a safety feature.If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet,
try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your
electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety
purpose of the polarized plug.
21. Power Lines - An outside antenna system should not be located in
the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits,
or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits.When installing an
outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from
touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.
22. Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna or cable
system is connected to the video product, be sure the antenna or cable
system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage
surges and built-up static charges.Section 810 of the National Electrical
Code, ANSI/NFPA No. 79-1993, provides information with respect to
proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure grounding of the
lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding
electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.
