Digital Weather Station
Model 00738
cu-Rite instruments have been designed and engineered to
provide accurate and reliable measurements. Please read the
instructions thoroughly before setting the weather station.
For desktop display, lift out the foldable stand located on the back
of the main unit. For wall mounting, use the hanging slot by
fastening with a nail or screw.

1. Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries into the weather station.
LOW BATTERY INDICATOR
Low battery indication is shown on the LCD of the weather station.
Replace the batteries and follow the set-up procedure as
mentioned in thermometer set-up.
This weather station has an approximate battery life of 12 months.
(Alkaline batteries are recommended).
WEATHER STATION SET-UP
To read indoor or outdoor temperature, push the switch on the
back of the unit.
To read outdoor temperature, place the probe wire out a
window/door and follow the set-up procedure as mentioned in
thermometer set-up.
To read indoor temperature, place the unit and probe wire
where desired.
Temperature Ranges:
Main unit: 32° F-122° F/0° C-50° C
THERMOMETER SET-UP
To select between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature
readings on the weather station, press the C/F switch on the
back.
The weather forecaster will automatically read the atmospheric
pressure and predict the weather conditions for the next 12
hours. The unit may need up to 12-24 hours to read
atmospheric pressure after initial set-up.
Pressure Trend Indicator:
The 3 different pressure trends will be shown on the unit as
arrows. The pressure trend indicator will refresh itself every
hour. The arrow shown will indicate:
Steady Falling Rising
Storm Alert:
The cloud and rain icon will flash when the unit detects stormy
conditions.
Day/Night Icon:
The sun (indicating daylight) will change to the moon and stars
(indicating night time) after 9:10 pm (21:10) and remain until
5:10 am (05:10) when the sun will return.
MIN/MAX/MEMORY
High and low temperatures can be recorded for any time period by
using this feature.
Pressing the min/max button will display the maximum
temperature value.
Press the button again to display the minimum temperature
value.
Temperature Trend Indicator:
The 3 different temperature trend icons will indicate steady,
falling, and rising temperatures if the temperature change is
more than 1 degree in an hour.
WEATHER FORECASTER SET-UP
It is important to calibrate the forecaster to the existing
outdoor conditions for proper functioning.
Hold the “+” button on the back of the unit for 3 seconds. The
weather icon will begin to flash.
Select the existing weather condition by pressing the “-“ button
on the back of the unit. Press the “+” button to confirm the
setting.
To clear the memory record, press clear while the respective
values are displayed on the screen.
TEMPERATURE ALERT
Minimum and maximum temperature alerts can be programmed for
the indoor and remote channel temperatures.
To turn the feature on/off, press the alert button once to display
icon.
Setting Cycle:
To set the alert, press the alert button for 3 seconds to enter
setting mode. The indoor temperature and the upper/lower
pointers will flash.
Press the “+” or “-“ buttons on the unit to select the desired
channel; press alert to confirm your channel selection.
The upper pointer and temperature will begin to flash. Enter
the desired upper limit temperature by pressing the “+” or “-“
buttons
ress alert to confirm the upper setting.
The lower pointer and temperature will begin to flash. Enter
the desired lower limit with the +/- buttons; press alert to
confirm and exit the temperature alert mode.
When the temperature reaches the limit of the preset alert, the
pointers and the temperature begin to flash and an alarm will
sound. Press any key to stop the alarm. The temperature will
continue to flash until it warms or cools from the alert setting.
TIME
Clock and Calendar Setting:
To activate the clock/calendar setting feature, hold the “set”
button for 3 seconds to enter the clock mode. Use the “+” or “-“
buttons on the back of the unit to adjust your settings. Press
the “set” button to confirm each setting. The settings will be in
the following sequence:
12/24 hour; hour; minute; hour offset-allows time to be set
ahead (to maintain correct time, keep at 0); year; the day and
month.
Alarm Setting:
Hold the clear button for 3 seconds. Press “+” or “-“ to enter
the desired time in hours and minutes. Press clear again to
confirm the setting when the alarm should sound.
A bell will appear in the time panel to show that the alarm is
activated. To view the alarm set time, press the clear button
while in the normal operating mode. The alarm time will
display for 5 seconds and then resume to normal clock mode.
When alarm time has been reached, the unit will sound an
alarm for 1 minute. During the snooze mode, the alarm will
repeat every 10 minutes.
To turn the alarm and snooze alarm off, press the “+” button
while in normal operating mode.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
The weather forecaster feature tracks barometric trend
changes, which enables the unit to be 70-80% accurate. The
weather forecasting feature predicts conditions up to the next
12 hours. If the forecasting icon is not updating according to
the weather, you must calibrate the main unit. (See initial setup procedures).
LIMITED WARRANTY: Should this product from the
Chaney Instrument Co. prove to be defective in material or
workmanship within one year of original purchase it will be
repaired or replaced. This warranty does not cover damage
in shipment or failure caused by tampering, carelessness,
or abuse
