Survey your garage area to see if any of the conditions below apply to your installation. Additional materials may be required. You may find it helpful to refer back to this page as you proceed with the installation of your opener.

Depending on your requirements, there are several installation steps which may call for materials or hardware not included in the carton.

This opener is compatible with:

• Doors that use a torsion bar, springs and a door no more than 14' (4.2 m) high.

• 4"-6" (10 cm - 15 cm) drums, not to be used on tapered drums over 6" (15 cm).

• High lift and standard lift sectional doors up to 14' (4.2 m) high.

• Doors up to 18' (5.4 m) wide.

• Doors up to 180 sq. ft. (16.7 sq. m).

• 1" (2.5 cm) torsion bar only.

• Review or inspect proposed installation area. Opener can be installed on left or right side of door. Select the side that meets the requirements listed below.

- Must have minimum of 2-1/2" (6.4 cm) between the

garage wall and the center of the torsion bar.

- Must have minimum of 3" (7.6 cm) between the ceiling

and the center of torsion bar.

- Must have minimum of 8" (20.3 cm) between the side

garage wall (or obstruction) and the end of torsion bar.

• The torsion bar must extend at least 1" to 5" (2.5 cm to 12 cm) past the bearing plate.

• An electric outlet is required within 6' (1.8 m) of the installation area. If outlet does not exist, contact a qualified electrician.

• Depending upon garage construction, extension brackets or wood blocks may be needed to install safety reversing sensors.

• Alternate floor mounting of the safety reversing sensors will require hardware not provided.

• A model 475LM EverCharge

Standby Power Unit is strongly recommended if there is no access door to the garage, as this opener cannot be used in conjunction with an external emergency release mechanism.

• Any gap between the floor and the bottom of the door must not exceed 1/4" (6 mm). Otherwise the safety reversal system may not work properly.

NOTE: Inspect the torsion bar while the door is raised and lowered. It is important that there is no noticeable movement up and down or left and right. If this type of movement is not corrected, life of this opener will be greatly reduced.

Before you begin:

• Disable locks.

• Remove any ropes connected to garage door.

• Complete the following test to make sure your garage

door is balanced and is not sticking or binding:

1. Lift the door about halfway as shown. Release the door. If balanced, it should stay in place, supported entirely by its springs.

2. Raise and lower the door to see if there is any binding or sticking.

If your door binds, sticks or is out of balance, call a

trained door systems technician.

3. Verify equal cable tension on each side of door. Cable tension should remain equal during the entire travel of the door.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH:

• ALWAYS call a trained door systems technician if garage door binds, sticks or is out of balance. An unbalanced garage door may not reverse when required.

• NEVER try to loosen, move or adjust garage door, door springs, cables, pulleys, brackets or their hardware, ALL of which are under EXTREME tension.

• Disable ALL locks and remove ALL ropes connected to garage door BEFORE installing and operating garage door opener to avoid entanglement.

To prevent damage to garage door and opener:

• ALWAYS disable locks BEFORE installing and operating the opener.

• ONLY operate garage door opener at 120V, 60 Hz to avoid malfunction and damage.

• Do NOT exceed 10 complete cycles of door operation per hour.

Attach the Collar to the Motor Unit

To avoid installation difficulties, do not run the garage door opener until instructed to do so.

• Loosen the collar screws.

• Attach collar to either the left or the right side of the motor unit. Ensure that the collar is seated all the way on motor shaft until stop is reached (Figure 1).

• Position the collar so that the screws are facing up (accessible when attached to the torsion bar).

• Tighten both sides of collar screws equally to secure collar to the motor unit (12-14 ft./lbs. of torque) (Figure 2).

NOTE: For most installations the screws should be facing up for easy access. Do not tighten set screws until indicated.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH, the collar MUST be properly tightened. The door may not reverse correctly or limits may be lost due to collar slip.

IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

To reduce the risk of SEVERE INJURY or DEATH:

1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTALLATION WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Install garage door opener ONLY on properly balanced and lubricated garage door. An improperly balanced door may not reverse when required and could result in SEVERE INJURY or DEATH.

3. ALL repairs to cables, spring assemblies and other hardware MUST be made by a trained door systems technician BEFORE installing opener.

4. Disable ALL locks and remove ALL ropes connected to garage door BEFORE installing opener to avoid entanglement.

5 Mount emergency release handle no higher than 6 feet

(1.83 m) above floor.

6. NEVER connect garage door opener to power source until instructed to do so.

7. NEVER wear watches, rings or loose clothing while installing or servicing opener. They could be caught in garage door or opener mechanisms.

8. Install wall-mounted garage door control:

• within sight of the garage door.

• out of reach of children at minimum height of 5 feet

(1.5 m).

• away from ALL moving parts of the door.

9. Place entrapment warning label on wall next to garage door control.

10. Place manual release/safety reverse test label in plain view on inside of garage door.

11. Upon completion of installation, test safety reversal system. Door MUST reverse on contact with a 1-1/2" (3.8 cm) high object (or a 2x4 laid flat) on the floor.

INSTALLATION STEP 1

Position the Opener

NOTE: For additional mounting options see accessories page.

1. Close the garage door completely.

2. Slide the opener with collar over the end of the torsion bar. Ensure that the collar does not touch the bearing plate. Check to make sure the mounting bracket is located on a solid surface such as wood, concrete or door/flag bracket. Snug collar screws to help assure proper alignment of operator. Mark the bracket holes. It may be necessary to cut the torsion bar if it is too long or damaged.

3. Loosen collar screws from torsion bar and remove the opener. Drill 3/16" pilot holes at the marked locations. Drill through steel plate if needed.

4. Reinstall the opener by sliding the collar over the torsion bar until pilot holes align with bracket. Securely tighten collar screws that attach to the torsion bar to 12-14 ft./ lbs. of torque. Securely tighten both set screws firmly, without damaging the motor unit.

NOTE: To allow access to the set screws it may be necessary to raise the door slightly in order to rotate the torsion bar.

5. Fasten bracket securely with 14-10x1-7/8" screws. Tighten all mounting bracket hardware.

NOTE: The motor unit does not have to be flush to wall.

6. Use a staple to secure the antenna wire to prevent antenna from being entangled in a door roller.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH:

• Concrete anchors MUST be used if mounting bracket into masonry.

• NEVER try to loosen, move or adjust garage door, springs, cables, pulleys, brackets or their hardware, ALL of which are under EXTREME tension.

• ALWAYS call a trained door systems technician if garage door binds, sticks or is out of balance. An unbalanced garage door might not reverse when required.

• Operator MUST be mounted at a right angle to the torsion bar to avoid premature wear on the collar.

Attach the Emergency Release Rope and Handle

• Thread one end of the rope through the hole in the top of the red handle so “NOTICE” reads right side up as shown. Secure with an overhand knot at least 1" (2.5 cm) from the end of the rope to prevent slipping.

• Thread the other end of the rope through the loop in the emergency release cable.

• Adjust rope length so the handle is no higher than 6' (1.83 m) above the floor. Secure with an overhand knot.

NOTE: If it is necessary to cut the rope, heat seal the cut end with a match or lighter to prevent unraveling.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a falling garage door:

• If possible, use emergency release handle to disengage door ONLY when garage door is CLOSED. Weak or broken springs or unbalanced door could result in an open door falling rapidly and/or unexpectedly.

• NEVER use emergency release handle unless garage doorway is clear of persons and obstructions.

INSTALLATION STEP 3

Install Power Door Lock

The lock is used to prevent the garage door from being manually opened once the door is fully closed.

1. Select a door roller to mount the lock above. Check for clearance. If possible select a roller on the same side of the door as the motor unit. The second roller up from the bottom is ideal in most installations.

2. Ensure rail surface is clean and adhere lock template to achieve a 3" (7.6 cm) distance between the center of the roller and the pin hole (Figure 1).

3. Drill holes as marked on the template.

4. Fasten power door lock to the outside of the garage door track with hardware provided.

5. Run bell wire up wall to motor unit. Use insulated staples to secure wire in several places.

6. Plug connector into the motor unit (Figure 2).

NOTE: Lock must be mounted within 10' of the power head.

INSTALLATION STEP 4

Attach the Cable Tension Monitor (Required)

This opener comes standard with the cable tension monitor. It is supplied as a device to monitor the cables for ANY slack that may occur and will reverse the door when excessive slack is detected, eliminating service calls.

The cable tension monitor MUST be connected and properly installed before the garage door opener will move in the down direction.

NOTE: The cable tension monitor is shipped for left side installation. It is preferred that the cable tension monitor be installed on the same side of the door as the opener. If required, it can be mounted on the opposite side of door. Remove the snap-ring holding the roller in place and reassemble it on the opposite side of the cable tension monitor.

1. Position the cable tension monitor as shown (Figures 1 and 2). The cable tension monitor should be located as close to the drum as possible.

NOTE: There must be no obstructions in the installation area that prevent the cable tension monitor or the cable itself from closing completely when slack is detected.

2. Make sure cable tension monitor is located over a wood support member.

NOTE: If the cable tension monitor can not be mounted into wood with the lag screws provided, it can be mounted into 1/2" or greater drywall using the wall anchors (2) and the #8 hex head screws (2) provided in the hardware bag.

3. Mark and drill 3/16" pilot holes for screws (pilot holes are not required for anchors).

4. Attach the cable tension monitor to the wall using the hardware provided. Make sure that the roller is on top of the cable.

5. Run bell wire to motor unit. Use insulated staples to secure wire in several places.

6. Connect bell wire to the green quick-connect terminals (polarity is not important) (Figure 3).

NOTE: Cable must have tension through entire travel. Make sure there is no slack in cable on opposite side of garage door during normal operation. If this condition exists, adjust cables as required.

Locate door control within sight of door, at a minimum height of 5' (1.5 m) where small children cannot reach, away from moving parts of door and door hardware. If installing into drywall, drill 5/32" holes and use the anchors provided. For pre-wired installations (as in new home construction), it may be mounted to a single gang box (Figure 1).

NOTE: The functional temperature range of the door control is between -20°C (-4°F) and +50°C (+122°F). Scroll speed of display is slower at lower temperatures although the door control remains fully functional.

CAUTION: Continuous exposure of the door control to temperatures below -22°F (-30°C) may damage the LCD screen.

SPECIAL NOTE: Only one 398LM can be connected to each garage door opener. If additional wall controls are desired to operate the same garage door opener, it is recommended to use model 378LM wireless wall control as the secondary door control.

1. Strip 7/16" (11 mm) of insulation from one end of bell wire and connect to the two screw terminals on back of door control by color: white wire to the W (2) and white/red wire to the R (1) (Figure 2).

2. Remove push bar cover by gently prying at the lower/ middle portion of the cover with a small flat-head screwdriver. Fasten with 6AB x 1-1/4" self-tapping screws (drywall installation) or 6-32 x 1" machine screws (into gang box) as follows:

• Install bottom screw, allowing 1/8" (3 mm) to protrude

above wall surface.

• Position bottom of door control on screw head and

slide down to secure. Adjust screw for snug fit.

• Drill and install top screw with care to avoid cracking

plastic housing. Do NOT overtighten.

• Replace cover by inserting top tabs first and then snap

cover in place.

3. (For standard installations ONLY) Run bell wire up wall and across ceiling to motor unit. Use insulated staples to secure wire in several places. Do NOT pierce wire with a staple, creating a short or open circuit.

4. Strip 7/16" (11 mm) of insulation from end of bell wire. Connect bell wire to the quick-connect terminals on the motor unit: white to white and white/red to red (Figure 3).

NOTE: DO NOT connect the power and operate the opener at this time. The door will travel to the full open position but will not return to the close position until the sensor beams are connected and properly aligned. See page 14.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from electrocution:

• Be sure power is not connected BEFORE installing door control.

• Connect ONLY to 24 VOLT low voltage wires. To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a closing

garage door:

• Install door control within sight of garage door, out of reach of children at a minimum height of 5 feet (1.5 m) and away from ALL moving parts of door.

• NEVER permit children to operate or play with door control push buttons or remote controls.

• Activate door ONLY when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted and there are no obstructions to door travel.

• ALWAYS keep garage door in sight until completely closed. NEVER permit anyone to cross path of closing garage door.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

To reduce the risk of SEVERE INJURY or DEATH:

1. This portable luminaire has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a feature to reduce the risk of electric shock.

2. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet ONLY one way.

3. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.

4. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

INSTALLATION STEP 6

Install the Light

The remote light (opener light) is designed to plug directly into a standard 120V outlet.

1. Install the hinge and latch clips. Clips slide in between the metal plate and the plastic housing on each side of the light base (Figure 1).

2. Select an appropriate location on the ceiling to mount the light within 6' (1.8 m) of an electrical outlet so that the cord and light are away from moving parts.

3. Install the ceiling mount plate with the screws provided. Leave 1/8" (3.1 mm) of the thread exposed between the ceiling and the screw head (Figure 2).

NOTE: If installing remote light (opener light) on drywall and a ceiling joist can not be located, use wall anchors provided. No pilot hole is required for wall anchors.

4. Determine the length of power cord needed to reach the nearest outlet. Wind any excess cord around cord retainer on the top side of the light base.

5. Install the light base by pushing onto the screws and turning the base clockwise to lock the light in place.

6. Install two Type A19 incandescent or compact fluorescent bulbs. 100 watt maximum per bulb, 200 watts total.

7. Install the light lens by hooking one end of the lens over the hinge and pressing up on the other end to latch into place (Figure 3).

8. Plug in the light to outlet.

NOTE: Light will not operate until the unit is activated.

5. NEVER use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted.

6. Do not alter the plug.

7. Light is intended for ceiling mount and indoor applications ONLY.

To prevent possible OVERHEATING of the endpanel or light socket:

• DO NOT use short neck or specialty light bulbs.

• DO NOT use halogen bulbs. Use ONLY incandescent. To prevent damage to the opener:

• DO NOT use bulbs larger than 100W.

• ONLY use A19 size bulbs.

Electrical Requirements

To avoid installation difficulties, do not run the opener at this time.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, your garage door opener has a grounding type plug with a third grounding pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding type outlet. If the plug doesn't fit into the outlet you have, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.

If permanent wiring is required by your local code, refer to the following procedure.

To make a permanent connection through the 7/8" hole in the back of the motor unit (according to local code):

• Remove the opener from the torsion bar, remove cover screws and set the cover aside.

• Remove the attached green ground terminal.

• Cut black and white wires and strip away 1/2" (1.3 cm) of insulation, 3" (7.6 cm) before spade terminals.

• Remove the power cord from unit.

• Install a 90o conduit or flex cable adapter to the 7/8" hole. Reinstall opener to torsion bar.

• Run wires through conduit, cut to proper length and strip insulation.

• Attach with wire nuts provided.

• Properly secure wire under plastic ties so that wire does not come in contact with moving parts.

• Reinstall the cover.

To avoid installation difficulties, do not run the opener at this time.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from electrocution or fire:

• Be sure power is not connected to the opener, and disconnect power to circuit BEFORE removing cover to establish permanent wiring connection.

• Garage door installation and wiring MUST be in compliance with ALL local electrical and building codes.

• NEVER use an extension cord, 2-wire adapter or change plug in any way to make it fit outlet. Be sure the opener is grounded.

If the optional 475LM Standby Power Unit is part of this installation it should be installed at this time.

• The SPU can be mounted to either the ceiling or a wall within 3' (.9 m) of the motor unit.

• Position the SPU as desired to a structural support (ceiling joist or wall stud).

• Attach the SPU to the support using the mounting holes on either side of the SPU.

• Secure the SPU using the 1-1/2" lag screws (2) provided with the SPU unit.

• Connect the SPU cord into the connector on the bottom of the motor unit.

• Follow all instructions included with the 475LM unit to test for proper operation and testing of the SPU.

Install The Protector System

The safety reversing sensor must be connected and aligned correctly before the garage door opener will move in the down direction. This is a required safety device and cannot be disabled.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE SAFETY REVERSING SENSOR

When properly connected and aligned, the safety reversing sensor will detect an obstacle in the path of its electronic beam. The sending eye (with an amber indicator light) transmits an invisible light beam to the receiving eye (with a green indicator light). If an obstruction breaks the light beam while the door is closing, the door will stop and reverse to full open position, and the opener lights will flash 10 times.

The units must be installed inside the garage so that the sending and receiving eyes face each other across the door, no more than 6" (15 cm) above the floor. Either can be installed on the left or right of the door as long as the sun never shines directly into the receiving eye lens.

The mounting brackets are designed to clip onto the track of sectional garage doors without additional hardware.

Be sure power is not connected to the garage door opener BEFORE installing the safety reversing sensor.

To prevent SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a closing garage door:

• Correctly connect and align the safety reversing sensor. This required safety device MUST NOT be disabled.

• Install the safety reversing sensor so beam is NO HIGHER than 6" (15 cm) above garage floor.

If it is necessary to mount the units on the wall, the brackets must be securely fastened to a solid surface such as the wall framing. Extension brackets (see accessories) are available if needed. If installing in masonry construction, add a piece of wood at each location to avoid drilling extra holes in masonry if repositioning is necessary.

The invisible light beam path must be unobstructed. No part of the garage door (door tracks, springs, hinges, rollers or other hardware) may interrupt the beam while the door is closing.

INSTALLING THE BRACKETS Be sure power to the opener is disconnected. Install

and align the brackets so the safety reversing sensors will face each other across the garage door, with the beam no higher than 6" (15 cm) above the floor. They may be installed in one of three ways,as follows.

Garage door track installation (preferred) (Figure 1):

• Slip the curved arms over the rounded edge of each door track, with the curved arms facing the door. Snap into place against the side of the track. It should lie flush, with the lip hugging the back edge of the track, as shown in Figure 1.

If your door track will not support the bracket securely, wall installation is recommended.

Wall installation (Figure 2 and 3):

• Place the bracket against the wall with curved arms facing the door. Be sure there is enough clearance for the sensor beam to be unobstructed.

• If additional depth is needed, an extension bracket (see Accessories) or wood blocks can be used.

• Use bracket mounting holes as a template to locate and drill (2) 3/16" diameter pilot holes on the wall at each side of the door, no higher than 6" (15 cm) above the floor.

• Attach brackets to wall with lag screws (not provided).

• If using extension brackets or wood blocks, adjust right and left assemblies to the same distance out from the mounting surface. Make sure all door hardware obstructions are cleared.

Floor installation (Figure 4):

• Use wood blocks or extension brackets (see Accessories) to elevate sensor brackets so the lenses will be no higher than 6" (15 cm) above the floor.

• Carefully measure and place right and left assemblies at the same distance out from the wall. Be sure all door hardware obstructions are cleared.

• Fasten to the floor with concrete anchors as shown.

MOUNTING AND WIRING THE SAFETY REVERSING SENSORS

• Slide a 1/4"-20x1/2" carriage bolt head into the slot on each sensor. Use wing nuts to fasten safety reversing sensors to brackets, with lenses pointing toward each other across the door. Be sure the lens is not obstructed by a bracket extension (Figure 5).

• Finger tighten the wing nuts.

• Run the wires from both safety reversing sensors to the opener. Use insulated staples to secure wire to wall and ceiling.

• Strip 7/16" (11 mm) of insulation from each set of wires. Separate white and white/black wires sufficiently to connect to the opener quick-connect terminals: white to white and white/black to grey (Figure 6).

ALIGNING THE SAFETY REVERSING SENSORS

• Plug in the opener. The indicator lights in both the sending and receiving eyes will glow steadily if wiring connections and alignment are correct.

The sending eye amber indicator light will glow regardless of alignment or obstruction. If the green indicator light in the receiving eye is off, dim, or flickering (and the invisible light beam path is not obstructed), alignment is required.

• Loosen the sending eye wing nut and readjust, aiming directly at the receiving eye. Lock in place.

• Loosen the receiving eye wing nut and adjust the safety reversing sensor until it receives the sender’s beam. When the green indicator light glows steadily, tighten the wing nut.

TROUBLESHOOTING THE SAFETY REVERSING SENSORS

1. If the sending eye indicator light does not glow steadily after installation, check for:

• Electric power to the opener.

• A short in the white or white/black wires. These can occur at staples, or at opener connections.

• Incorrect wiring between safety reversing sensors and opener.

• A broken wire.

2. If the sending eye indicator light glows steadily but the

receiving eye indicator light doesn't:

• Check alignment.

• Check for an open wire to the receiving eye.

3. If the receiving eye indicator light is dim, realign

either sensor.

NOTE: When the invisible beam path is obstructed or misaligned while the door is closing, the door will reverse. If the door is already open, it will not close. The remote lights will blink 10 times. (If bulbs are not installed, 10 clicks can be heard.) See page 11.

ADJUSTMENT STEP 1

Program the Travel Limits

Travel limits regulate the points at which the door will stop when moving up or down. Follow the steps below to set the limits.

To program the travel limits:

Adjust the position of the door by using the black and purple buttons. Black moves the door UP (open) and purple moves the door DOWN (close).

1. Setting the UP position: Press and hold the black

button until the yellow indicator light starts flashing slowly then release.

2. Push and hold the black button until the door reaches the desired UP (open) position (Figure 2).

NOTE: Check to be sure the door opens high enough for your vehicle.

3. Push the remote control or door control (Figure 3). This sets the UP (open) limit and begins closing the door.

NOTE: Excessive movement of the motor unit will cause premature wear. See Troubleshooting section.

4. Immediately when the door begins to move down, press and release either the black or purple button. This will stop the door.

5. Setting the DOWN position: Push and hold the purple button until the door reaches the desired DOWN (closed) position (Figure 4).

6. Once the door is closed, check for proper pressure on the door (you should be able to manually push the door down a 1/16 of an inch). If there appears to be too much pressure on the door, you may toggle the door back and forth using the black and purple buttons to reach the desired position.

7. Push the remote control or the door control (Figure 3). This sets the DOWN (close) limit and should bring the door to the open position.

• If the opener is not stopping exactly where you would

like it, repeat steps 1 through 7 and program the limits again.

• When the unit stops in both the desired up (open) and

down (close) positions, proceed to Adjustment Step 2,

Setting the Force.

Without a properly installed safety reversal system, persons (particularly small children) could be SERIOUSLY INJURED or KILLED by a closing garage door.

• NEVER learn forces or limits when door is binding or sticking. Repair door first.

• Incorrect adjustment of garage door travel limits will interfere with proper operation of safety reversal system.

• After ANY adjustments are made, the safety reversal system MUST be tested. Door MUST reverse on contact with 1-1/2" high (3.8 cm) object (or 2x4 laid flat) on floor.

To prevent damage to vehicles, be sure fully open door provides adequate clearance.

Setting the Force

The force setting button is located on the front panel. The force setting measures the amount of force required to open and close the door.

1. Locate the purple button on the unit (Figure 1).

2. Push the purple button twice to enter unit into Force Adjustment Mode (Figure 2). The LED (Indicator Light) will flash quickly.

3. Push the remote control or door control (Figure 3). The door will travel to the DOWN (close) position. Push the remote control or door control again, the door will travel to the UP (open) position. Push the remote control or door control a third time to send the door to the DOWN (close) position.

The LED (Indicator Light) will stop flashing when the force has been learned.

The unit has learned the forces required to open and close your door.

The door must travel through a complete cycle, UP and DOWN, in order for the force to be set properly. If the unit cannot open and close your door fully, inspect your door to insure that it is balanced properly and is not sticking or binding. See page 4, “Preparing your garage door.”

Without a properly installed safety reversal system, persons (particularly small children) could be SERIOUSLY INJURED or KILLED by a closing garage door.

• NEVER learn forces or limits when door is binding or sticking. Repair door first

• With the door fully open, place a 1-1/2" (3.8 cm) board (or a 2x4 laid flat) on the floor, centered under the garage door.

• Operate the door in the down direction. The door must reverse on striking the obstruction. Upon successful safety reversal test proceed to Adjustment Step 4.

ADJUST

• If the door stops on the obstruction, it is not traveling far enough in the down direction. Complete Adjustment Steps 1 and 2 Programming the Limits and Forces.

• Repeat the test.

• When the door reverses on the 1-1/2" (3.8 cm) board (or 2x4 laid flat), remove the obstruction and run the opener through 3 or 4 complete travel cycles to test adjustment.

• If the unit continues to fail the Safety Reverse Test, call for a trained door systems technician.

IMPORTANT SAFETY CHECK:

Test the Safety Reverse System after:

• Each adjustment of limits, or force controls.

• Any repair to or adjustment of the garage door (including springs and hardware).

• Any repair to or buckling of the garage floor.

• Any repair to or adjustment of the opener.

Without a properly installed safety reversal system, persons (particularly small children) could be SERIOUSLY INJURED or KILLED by a closing garage door.

• Safety reversal system MUST be tested every month.

• If one control (force or travel limits) is adjusted, the other control may also need adjustment.

• After ANY adjustments are made, the safety reversal system MUST be tested. Door MUST reverse on contact with 1-1/2" (3.8 cm) high object (or 2x4 laid flat) on the floor.

ADJUSTMENT STEP 4

Test The Protector System

• Press the remote control push button to open the door.

• Place the opener carton in the path of the door.

• Press the remote control push button to close the door. The door will not move more than an inch, and the opener lights will flash.

The garage door opener will not close from a remote if the indicator light in either sensor is off (alerting you to the fact that the sensor is misaligned or obstructed).

If the opener closes the door when the safety reversing sensor is obstructed, do not operate the door. Call for a trained door systems technician.

Without a properly installed safety reversing sensor, persons (particularly small children) could be SERIOUSLY INJURED or KILLED by a closing garage door.

• With the door fully closed, the power door lock bolt should be protruding through the track.

• Operate the door in the open direction. The power door lock should retract before the door begins to move.

• Operate the door in the down direction. When the door reaches the fully closed position, the power door lock should automatically activate to secure the door.

NOTE: If the power door lock does not function, the lock can be manually released by sliding the manual release handle to the open position.

ADJUSTMENT STEP 7

To Open the Door Manually

Disengage door lock before proceeding. The door should be fully closed if possible. Pull down on the emergency release handle until a click noise is heard from the unit and lift the door manually. To reconnect the door to the opener, pull down the emergency release handle straight down a second time until a click noise is heard from the unit. The door will reconnect on the next UP or DOWN operation.

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a falling garage door:

• NEVER use emergency release handle unless garage doorway is clear of persons and obstructions.

Test the emergency release:

• Make sure the garage door is closed.

• Pull the emergency release handle. The garage door should then be able to be opened manually.

• Return the door to the closed position.

• Pull the emergency handle a second time.

• Reconnect the door to the opener.

Using Your Garage Door Opener

Your Security✚® opener and hand-held remote control have been factory-set to a matching code which changes with each use, randomly accessing over 100 billion new codes. Your opener will operate with up to eight Security✚® remote controls and one Security✚® Keyless Entry System. If you purchase a new remote, or if you wish to deactivate any remote, follow the instructions in the Programming section.

Activate your opener with any of the following:

• The hand-held Remote Control: Hold the large push button down until the door starts to move.

• The wall-mounted Door Control: Hold the push button or bar down until the door starts to move.

• The Keyless Entry (See Accessories): If provided with your garage door opener, it must be programmed before use. See Programming.

When the opener is activated (with the safety reversing sensor correctly installed and aligned)

1. If open, the door will close. If closed, it will open.

2. If closing, the door will reverse.

3. If opening, the door will stop.

4. If the door has been stopped in a partially open position, it will close.

5. If obstructed while closing, the door will reverse. If the obstruction interrupts the sensor beam, the opener lights will blink for five seconds.

8. After ANY adjustments are made, the safety reversal system MUST be tested.

9. Safety reversal system MUST be tested every month. Garage door MUST reverse on contact with 1-1/2" (3.8 cm) high object (or a 2x4 laid flat) on the floor.

10. ALWAYS KEEP GARAGE DOOR PROPERLY BALANCED (see page 3). An improperly balanced door may not reverse when required and could result in SEVERE INJURY or DEATH.

11. ALL repairs to cables, spring assemblies and other hardware, ALL of which are under EXTREME tension, MUST be made by a trained door systems technician.

THE SMART CONTROL PANEL™

Press the push bar to open or close the door. Press again to reverse the door during the closing cycle or to stop the door while it's opening.

This door control contains a motion sensing detector that will automatically turn on the light when it detects a person entering the garage.

(PROG) Learn Feature

The door control is equipped with a Prog <LEARN> button to assist in learning remote controls to the unit. Press the Prog <LEARN> button once to initiate LEARN mode and the display will show ‘Learn Remote Control - Press Learn Button Again to Confirm’. Press the Prog <LEARN> button a second time and the display will show ‘Learn Mode Press Remote Control Button to Learn Remote.’ Press the button of the remote control to be learned and the worklight will blink to confirm the remote control has been learned.

Light feature

Press the Light button to turn the opener light on or off. It will not control the opener lights when the door is in motion. If you turn it on and then activate the opener, the light will remain on for 4-1/2 minutes. Press again to turn it off sooner. The 4-1/2 minute interval can be changed to 1-1/2, 2-1/2, or 3-1/2 minutes as follows: Press and hold the Lock button until the light blinks (about 10 seconds). A single blink indicates that the timer is reset to 1-1/2 minutes. Repeat the procedure and the light will blink twice, resetting the timer to 2-1/2 minutes. Repeat again for a 3-1/2 minute interval, etc., up to a maximum of four blinks and 4-1/2 minutes. When using the opener lights as working lights, we recommend that you first disable the motion sensor. See Automatic Light Feature, below.

Motion Sensing (Automatic Light Feature): The opener light will turn on automatically when a person enters the garage. When a person walks in front of the door control, the light will come on for five minutes, then shut off. This feature works by detecting body heat.

To disable this feature, push the motion sensing button on the side of the door control.

We recommend that you disable the motion sensor when using the opener lights as working lights. Otherwise, they will turn off automatically if you are working beyond the sensors range.

Hour & Minute Feature

Press or hold either of these side buttons to increment the hour or minute displayed on the LCD display.

(LANG) Language Feature

Press this side button to toggle between the three languages - English, French and Spanish.

Using the Remote Control

NOTE: To activate the remote control functions, pull out the plastic pull tab protruding from the remote control housing.

This remote control is equipped with a proximity lighting feature. When moving a hand within close proximity to the remote control, the LED lights turn on for 3 seconds. Upon successful activation of a remote control button, the LED lights will blink rapidly.

Proximity Disable Feature

The remote control will turn off the proximity lighting feature if the proximity lighting is turned on 10 consecutive times without activation of a button. To re-enable the proximity lighting, simply press a button. This function conserves battery life.

To Control the Opener Lights

With 315MHz Security✚

remote controls, a remote push button can be programmed to operate the opener lights without opening the door.

1. With the door closed, press and hold the remote button

that you want to control the light.

2. Press and hold the Light button on the multi-function

control panel.

3. Press and hold the Lock button on the multi-function

control panel.

4. After the opener lights flash, release all buttons. Test by pressing the remote push button. The opener

lights should turn on or off but the door should not move.

Troubleshooting

Check if proximity lighting is disabled by pressing a button.

The Remote Control Battery

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH:

• NEVER allow small children near batteries.

• If battery is swallowed, immediately notify doctor. To reduce risk of fire, explosion or chemical burn:

• Replace ONLY with 3V2016 or 3V2450 coin batteries.

• Do NOT recharge, disassemble, heat above 100°C (212°F) or incinerate.

The 3V2016 lithium batteries for the opener and LED lights (marked “LED and Opener Battery”) should last 5 years. The 3V2450 lithium battery for the proximity lighting (marked “Proximity Battery”) should last 1-2 years.

To replace the batteries, remove the two screws and open the remote control housing. Push the battery out of the holder for removal. Insert replacement batteries positive side up. Dispose of old batteries properly.

Replace the batteries with only 3V2016 or 3V2450 coin cell batteries.

CARE OF YOUR OPENER

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

Once a Month

• Manually operate door. If it is unbalanced or binding, call a trained door systems technician.

• Check to be sure door opens & closes fully. Adjust limits and/or force if necessary (see Adjustment Steps 1 and 2).

• Repeat the safety reverse test. Make any necessary adjustments (see Adjustment Step 3).

Once a Year

• Oil door rollers, bearings and hinges. The opener does not require additional lubrication. Do not grease the door tracks.

HAVING A PROBLEM? (TROUBLESHOOTING)

1. The opener doesn't operate from either the Door

Control or the remote control:

• Does the opener have electric power? Plug a lamp into

the outlet. If it doesn't light, check the fuse box or the circuit breaker. (Some outlets are controlled by a wall switch.)

• Have you disabled all door locks? Review installation

instruction warnings on page 7.

• Is there a build-up of ice or snow under the door? The

door may be frozen to the ground. Remove any restriction.

• The garage door spring may be broken. Have it

replaced (see page 3 for reference).

2. Opener operates from the remote, but not from the

Door Control:

• Is the door control lit? If not, reverse the wires. If the

opener runs, check for a faulty wire connection at the control console, a short under the staples, or a broken wire.

• Are the wiring connections correct? Review Installation

Step 5, page 10.

3. The door operates from the Door Control, but not

from the remote control:

• Is the door push bar flashing? If so, Lock mode is

engaged. Make sure it is off by pressing the Lock button for two seconds.

• Program the opener to match the remote control code.

(Refer to instructions on the motor unit panel.) Repeat with all Remote.

4. The remote control has short range:

• Change the location of the remote control in your car.

• Check to be sure the antenna on the side or back panel

of motor unit extends fully downward.

• Some installations may have shorter range due to a

metal door, foil backed insulation, or metal garage siding.

5. The garage door opens and closes by itself:

• Be sure that all remote control push buttons are off.

• Remove the bell wire from the door control terminals and operate from the remote only. If this solves the problem, the door control is faulty (replace), or there is an intermittent short on the wire between the control console and the motor unit.

• Clear memory and re-program all remote controls.

6. The door doesn't open completely:

• Check power door lock.

• Is something obstructing the door? Is it out of balance, or are the springs broken? Remove the obstruction or repair the door.

7. The door opens but won't close:

• Check cable tension monitor (see Installation Step 4).

• If the opener lights blink, check the safety reversing sensor. See Installation Step 9.

• If the opener lights don’t blink and it is a new installation. See Adjustment Step 2. For an existing installation, see below.

Repeat the safety reverse test after the adjustment is complete.

8. The door reverses for no apparent reason and opener lights don’t blink:

• Check cable tension monitor (see Installation Step 4).

• Is something obstructing the door? Pull the emergency release handle. Operate the door manually. If it is unbalanced or binding, call a trained door systems technician.

• Clear any ice or snow from the garage floor area where the door closes.

• Review Adjustment Step 2.

9. The door reverses for no apparent reason and opener lights blink for 5 seconds after reversing:

• Check the safety reversing sensor. Remove any obstruction or align the receiving eye. See Installation

Step 9.

10. The opener strains to operate door:

• The door may be out of balance or the springs may be broken. Close the door and use the emergency release handle to disconnect the door. Open and close the door manually. A properly balanced door will stay in any point of travel while being supported entirely by its springs. If it does not, disconnect the opener and call a trained door systems technician.

11. The opener motor hums briefly, then won't work:

• The garage door springs may be broken. See above.

• If the problem occurs on the first operation of the opener, door may be locked. Disable the power door lock.

12. The opener won't operate due to power failure:

• Manually open the power door lock.

• Use the emergency release handle to disconnect the door. The door can be opened and closed manually. When power is restored, pull manual release a second time.

• If a Standby Power Unit is connected, the opener should be able to operate up to 20 times without power.

13. Door loses limits.

• Collar not tightened securely. Tighten collar (see Assembly Steps 1 and 2) and reprogram limits (see Adjustment Step 1).

14. The operator moves when the door is in operation:

• Some minor movement is normal for this product. If it is excessive the collar will wear prematurely.

• Check to make sure the torsion bar is not moving left/ right excessively.

• Check to make sure the torsion bar is not visibly moving up and down as it rotates.

• Check that the operator is mounted at a right angle to the jackshaft. If not, move the position of the mounting bracket.

15. Power lock makes noise when operating.

• Check to see that the Safety Reversing Sensors are not misaligned.

• Realign receiving eye sensor, clean lens and secure brackets.

• Verify door track is firmly secured to wall and does not move.

• Check to see that the Safety Reversing Sensors’ wires are connected to the motor unit.

• If message has not cleared after the above checks, refer to message #2.

Meaning: This message will appear if the Safety Reversing Sensors are miswired. To clear the message, do the following:

• Inspect the safety sensor wires for a short (staple in wire), correct wiring polarity (black/ white wires reversed), replace/attach as needed.

• Disconnect all wires from back of motor unit.

• Remove safety sensors from brackets and shorten sensor wires to 1-2 ft. (30-60 cm) from back of each sensor.

• Reattach sending eye to motor unit using shortened wires. If sending eye indicator light glows steadily, attach the receiving eye.

• Align sensors, if the indicator lights glow replace the wires for the sensors. If the sensor indicator lights do not light, replace the safety sensors.

Meaning: This message will appear when the Prog <LEARN> button has been pressed on the Smart Control Panel™. Pressing the Prog <LEARN> button again will allow the user to program an additional remote control to the opener.

• If motor unit does not activate, disconnect door control wires from motor unit. Momentarily short across red and white terminals with jumper wire. If motor unit activates, replace door control wires.

Symptom: Sending indicator light glows steadily, receiving indicator light is dim or flashing.

• Realign receiving eye sensor, clean lens and secure brackets.

• Verify door track is firmly secured to wall and does not move.

5 FLASHES

Motor overheated or possible RPM sensor failure. Unplug to reset.

9 FLASHES

Cable tension monitor reversal.

Symptom: Motor has overheated; the motor unit does not operate = Motor unit hums briefly; RPM Sensor = Short travel 6-8" (15-20 cm).

• Unplug unit to reset. Try to operate motor unit, check diagnostic code.

• If it is still flashing 5 times and motor unit moves 6-8" (15-20 cm), replace RPM sensor.

• If motor unit doesn’t operate, motor unit is overheated. Wait 30 minutes and retry. If motor unit still will not operate replace logic board.

Symptom: Door reverses while closing.

• Check for possible door obstructions and remove.

• Check that the cable tension monitor is properly connected to the operator.

• Replace the cable tension monitor.

If the existing PIN is known, it may be changed by one person without using a ladder.

1. Press the four buttons for the present PIN, then press and hold the # button.

2. Press the new 4-digit PIN you have chosen, then press Enter.

The motor unit lights will blink once when the PIN has been learned.

Test by pressing the new PIN, then press Enter. The door should move.

To set a temporary PIN

You may authorize access by visitors or service people with a temporary 4-digit PIN. After a programmed number of hours or number of accesses, this temporary PIN expires and will no longer open the door. It can be used to close the door even after it has expired. To set a temporary PIN:

1. Press the four buttons for your personal entry PIN (not the last temporary PIN), then press and hold the ✽ button.

The opener light will blink three times. Release the button.

2. Press the temporary 4-digit PIN you have chosen, then

press Enter.

The opener light will blink four times.

NOTE: This method requires two people if the Keyless Entry is already mounted outside the garage.

Test by pressing the four buttons for the temporary PIN, then press Enter. The door should move. If the temporary PIN was set to a certain number of openings, remember that the test has used up one opening.To clear the temporary password, repeat steps 1-3, setting the number of hours or times to 0 in step 3.

One Button Close: Opener can be closed by pressing only the ENTER button if the one button close feature has been activated. This feature has been activated at the factory. To activate or deactivate this feature press and hold buttons 1 and 9 for 10 seconds. The keypad will blink twice when the one button close is active. The keypad will blink four times when one button close is deactivated.

Este abre-puertas de garaje ha sido diseñado para un funcionamiento seguro, siempre y cuando se instale, se pruebe, se opere y se le dé mantenimiento como se indica a lo largo de este manual, cumpliendo al pie de la letra con todas las advertencias e instrucciones generales aquí contenidas.

Estas advertencias y/o símbolos de seguridad que aparecen a lo largo de este manual le alertarán de la existencia de riesgo de

Revise el área de su garaje para ver si alguna de las siguientes condiciones se aplica a su instalación. A veces se requieren materiales adicionales, así que tal vez sea conveniente tener esta página a la mano cuando inicie la instalación de su abrepuertas.

Según sus necesidades individuales, es posible que, en algunos casos, vaya a necesitar materiales o herramientas que no se incluyen con este producto.

Este abre-puertas es compatible con:

• Puertas que utilizan una barra de torsión, resortes y una puerta de no más de 4.2 m (14 pies) de altura.

• Carretes de 10 cm a 15 cm (4 a 6 pulg.); no debe utilizarse con carretes cónicos de más de 15 cm (6 pulg.).

• Puertas seccionadas de elevación alta y estándar de hasta

4.2 m (14 pies) de altura.

• Puertas de hasta 5.4 m (18 pies) de ancho.

• Puertas de hasta 16.7 m

cuadrados (180 pies).

• Barra de torsión de 2.5 cm (1 pulg.) únicamente.

• Revise o inspeccione el área de instalación propuesta. El abre-puertas puede instalarse en el lado izquierdo o derecho de la puerta. Seleccione el lado que cumpla con los requisitos que se detallan a continuación.

- Debe haber, como mínimo, 6.4 cm (2-1/2 de pulg.) entre la

pared del garaje y el centro de la barra de torsión.

- Debe haber, como mínimo, 7.6 cm (3 pulg.) entre el techo y

el centro de la barra de torsión.

- Debe haber, como mínimo, 20.3 cm (8 pulg.) entre la pared

lateral del garaje (u obstrucción) y el extremo de la barra de torsión.

• La barra de torsión debe extenderse, por lo menos, de

2.5 cm a 12 cm (1 a 5 pulg.) de la placa del cojinete.

• Se requiere una toma de corriente eléctrica dentro de los

1.8 m (6 pies) del área de instalación. Si no hay una toma de corriente, contacte a un electricista profesional.

• Según la construcción del garaje, es posible que se requieran extensiones de soporte o bloques de madera para instalar los sensores de reversa de seguridad.

• El montaje alternativo de los sensores de reversa de seguridad en el suelo requerirá piezas que no se incluyen.

• Se recomienda firmemente un Sistema de de Alimentación de Respaldo EverCharge

modelo 475LM si no hay una puerta de entrada al garaje, ya que este abre-puertas no puede utilizarse junto con un mecanismo externo de desenganche de emergencia.

• Cualquier espacio entre el suelo y la base de la puerta no debe exceder 6 mm (1/4 de pulg.). De lo contrario, es posible que el sistema de reversa de seguridad no funcione debidamente.

NOTA: Inspeccione la barra de torsión mientras la puerta suba y baje. Es importante que no haya ningún movimiento notorio hacia arriba ni abajo, ni hacia la derecha ni la izquierda. Si este tipo de movimiento no se corrige, la vida útil de este abre-puertas se acortará significativamente.

Antes de comenzar:

• Desarme los seguros.

• Retire cualquier cuerda que esté conectada a la puerta del garaje.

• Haga la siguiente prueba con su puerta para verificar que esté equilibrada y que no se atasque ni se atore:

1. Levante la puerta hasta la mitad de su recorrido como se

muestra. Suelte la puerta. Si está equilibrada, debe mantenerse en esa posición sólo con el soporte de los resortes.

2. Suba y baje la puerta; observe si se atora con algo o si se

atasca.

Si su puerta se atora, se atasca o está desequilibrada, llame a

un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas.

3. Verifique que haya igual tensión del cable en cada lado de

la puerta. La tensión del cable debe permanecer igual durante todo el recorrido de la puerta.

Para evitar la posibilidad de LESIONES GRAVES o INCLUSO LA MUERTE:

• Si la puerta se atora, se atasca o está desbalanceada, SIEMPRE llame a un técnico profesional para que la repare. Es posible que una puerta de garaje que no esté bien balanceada no retroceda cuando se requiera.

• NUNCA trate de aflojar, mover, ni ajustar la puerta del garaje, los resortes, los cables, las poleas, las ménsulas ni los pernos, pues TODAS estas piezas están bajo una tensión EXTREMA.

• Para evitar interferencias, desactive TODAS las trabas y quite TODAS las cuerdas conectadas a la puerta del garaje, ANTES de instalar y poner en uso el abre-puertas.

Para evitar daños a la puerta y al abre-puertas:

• SIEMPRE desactive las trabas y seguros ANTES de instalar y usar el abre-puertas.

• SOLAMENTE opere el abre-puertas de garaje con corriente de 120V 60 hz con object de evitar su mal funcionamiento y que el abre-puertas se dañe.

• NO exceda 10 ciclos completos de la operación de la puerta por hora.

Montaje del collar en el motor

Para evitar problemas con la instalación, no opere el abre-puertas de garaje hasta que llegue al paso de la instalación correspondiente.

• Afloje los tornillos del collar.

• Coloque el collar ya sea en el lado izquierdo o derecho del motor. Asegúrese de que el collar esté colocado íntegramente en el eje del motor hasta llegar al fondo (Figura 1).

• Coloque el collar de modo tal que los tornillos miren para arriba (accesible cuando se coloque en la barra de torsión).

• Apriete en forma pareja ambos lados de los tornillos del collar para sujetar el collar al motor (12 a 14 pies por libra de torsión) (Figura 2).

NOTA: En la mayoría de las instalaciones, los tornillos deben mirar hacia arriba para poder acceder a ellos más fácilmente. No apriete los tornillos de fijación hasta que se le indique.

Para evitar la posibilidad de una LESIÓN GRAVE o INCLUSO LA MUERTE, el collar DEBE estar correctamente apretado. Es posible que la puerta NO retroceda correctamente o que se pierdan los límites debido al deslizamiento del collar.

Colocación del soporte de montaje en el motor

• Coloque sin apretar demasiado el lado ranurado del soporte de montaje del mismo lado del motor donde se encuentra el collar, utilizando los tornillos autorroscables incluidos.

NOTA: No apriete hasta que se le indique. Las ilustraciones que se muestran son para realizar la instalación del lado izquierdo.

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN IMPORTANTES

Para reducir el riesgo de LESIONES GRAVES o DE MUERTE:

1. LEA Y RESPETE TODAS LAS ADVERTENCIAS E INSTRUCCIONES

DE INSTALACIÓN.

2. Instale el abre-puertas de garaje SOLAMENTE en puertas de garaje

que estén bien equilibradas y lubricadas. Si la puerta no está debidamente equilibrada, es posible que no retroceda cuando así se requiera y podría ocasionar una LESIÓN GRAVE o INCLUSO LA MUERTE.

3. TODAS las reparaciones de los cables, resortes y otras piezas las

DEBE llevar a cabo un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas ANTES de instalar el abre-puertas.

4. Desarme TODOS los seguros y retire TODAS las cuerdas

conectadas a la puerta del garaje ANTES de instalar el abre-puertas para evitar que éstas se enreden.

5 Monte la manija de desenganche de emergencia a una distancia no

superior a los 1.8 m (6 pies) del suelo.

6. NUNCA conecte el abre-puertas de garaje a una fuente de energía

eléctrica hasta que se le indique.

7. NUNCA lleve puestos relojes, anillos ni prendas sueltas durante la instalación o el servicio del abre-puertas, pues podrían atorarse en la puerta del garaje o en los mecanismos del abre-puertas.

8. Instale el control de pared del abre-puertas de garaje de manera que quede:

• a la vista desde la puerta del garaje;

• lejos del alcance de los niños, a una altura mínima de 1.5 m

(5 pies);

• lejos de TODAS las partes móviles de la puerta.

9. Coloque la calcomanía que advierte sobre el riesgo de quedar atrapado sobre la pared al lado del control de la puerta del garaje.

10. Coloque la calcomanía que contiene la prueba de reversa de seguridad y desenganche de emergencia a plena vista en la parte interior de la puerta del garaje.

11. Una vez que complete la instalación, pruebe el sistema de reversa de seguridad. La puerta DEBERÁ retroceder al entrar en contacto con un objeto de 3.8 cm (1-1/2 de pulg.) de altura (o un tablón de 2 x 4 acostado) que se coloque en el suelo.

INSTALACIÓN, PASO 1

Colocación del abre-puertas

NOTA: Para opciones de motaje adiciónales, vea la pagina de accesorios.

1. Cierre completamente la puerta del garaje.

2. Deslice el abre-puertas con collar sobre el extremo de la barra de torsión. Asegúrese de que el collar no toque la placa de cojinete. Compruebe y asegúrese de que el soporte de montaje se encuentre sobre una superficie sólida como madera, concreto o soporte para puerta/bandera. Ajuste los tornillos del collar para asegurar una alineación adecuada del operador. Marque los orificios del soporte. Es posible que necesite cortar la barra de torsión si es muy larga o está dañada.

3. Afloje los tornillos del collar de la barra de torsión y quite el abre-puertas. Taladre orificios de 3/16 de pulg. en los lugares marcados. De ser necesario, taladre a través de la placa de acero.

4. Reinstale el abre-puertas deslizando el collar sobre la barra de torsión hasta que los orificios se alineen con el soporte. Apriete firmemente los tornillos del collar que se fijan a la barra de torsión, de 12 a 14 pies por libra de torsión. Apriete firmemente ambos tornillos de fijación, sin dañar la unidad del motor.

5. Sujete firmemente el soporte con 14 tornillos de 10 x 1-7/8 de pulg.. Ajuste todas las piezas del soporte de montaje.

NOTA: El motor no requiere estar nivelado a la pared.

6. Utilice una grapa para sujetar el cable de la antena y así evitar que la antena se enrede en un rodillo de la puerta.

Para evitar la posibilidad de una LESIÓN GRAVE o INCLUSO LA MUERTE:

• Se DEBEN usar anclas para concreto si se monta el soporte en la mampostería.

• NUNCA trate de aflojar, mover ni ajustar la puerta del garaje, los resortes, los cables, las poleas, los soportes ni sus piezas, pues TODAS estas piezas están bajo una tensión EXTREMA.

• SIEMPRE llame a un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas si la puerta del garaje se atora, se atasca o está desequilibrada. Es posible que una puerta de garaje que no esté equilibrada no retroceda cuando se requiera.

• El operador DEBE estar montado a un ángulo correcto de la barra de torsión para evitar el desgaste prematuro del collar.

• Inserte un extremo de la cuerda en el orificio que se ubica en la parte superior de la manija roja, de modo que la palabra “NOTICE” se lea correctamente como se muestra. Asegúrela con un nudo sencillo a, por lo menos, 2.5 mm (1 pulg.) del extremo de la cuerda, para evitar que se suelte.

• Inserte el otro extremo de la cuerda en el lazo del cable de desenganche de emergencia.

• Ajuste la longitud de la cuerda para que la manija no se encuentre a una distancia superior a los 1.8 m (6 pies) del suelo. Haga un nudo igual en ese extremo.

NOTA: Si es necesario cortar la cuerda, queme el extremo cortado con un fósforo o encendedor para evitar que el cordón se deshilache.

Para evitar la posibilidad de una LESIÓN GRAVE o INCLUSO LA MUERTE si la puerta del garaje se cae:

• Si es posible, utilice la manija de desenganche de emergencia para desenganchar la puerta SÓLO cuando la puerta del garaje esté CERRADA. Si los resortes están débiles o rotos, o bien si la puerta está desequilibrada y se abre, ésta podría caerse rápida y/o inesperadamente.

• NUNCA use la manija de desenganche de emergencia a menos que la entrada al garaje esté libre de obstrucciones y no haya ninguna persona presente.

INSTALACIÓN, PASO 3

Instalación del seguro de puerta eléctrico

El seguro de puerta eléctrico se utiliza para evitar que la puerta del garaje se abra manualmente una vez que esté completamente cerrada.

1. Seleccione un rodillo de la puerta para montar el seguro por encima de él. Compruebe que haya espacio libre. Si es posible, seleccione un rodillo que esté del mismo lado de la puerta que el motor. El segundo rodillo contando desde la base de la puerta es ideal en la mayoría de las instalaciones.

2. Verifique el riel es limpio y fije la plantilla del seguro para obtener una distancia de 7.6 cm (3 pulg.) al centro de la ruedecilla y el orificio del chaveta (Figura 1).

3. Taladre los orificios siguiendo las marcas de la plantilla.

4. Sujete el seguro de puerta eléctrico a la parte exterior de la guía de la puerta del garaje con las piezas para la instalación provistas.

5. Pase el cable del timbre por la pared hasta el motor. Use grapas con aislamiento para sujetar el cable en varios lugares.

6. Enchufe el conector en el motor (Figura 2).

NOTA: El seguro debe estar montado dentro de 10 pies del cabezal de alimentación.

INSTALACIÓN, PASO 4

Colocación del monitor de tensión del cable (Requerido)

Este abre-puertas viene de fábrica con el monitor de tensión del cable. Se suministra como dispositivo para monitorear los cables a fin de detectar CUALQUIER grado de aflojamiento que se pueda producir y retrocederá la puerta cuando detecte un aflojamiento excesivo. De este modo, se eliminará la necesidad de llamar a un técnico de servicio.

El monitor de tensión del cable DEBE estar conectado y correctamente instalado antes de que el abre-puertas de garaje se mueva hacia abajo.

NOTA: El monitor de tensión del cable se envía de fábrica para realizar la instalación del lado izquierdo. Se prefiere que se instale el monitor de tensión del cable del mismo lado de la puerta que el abre-puertas. Si fuera necesario, se puede montar del lado opuesto de la puerta. Retire el anillo a presión que sujeta el rodillo en su lugar y vuelva a montarlo del lado opuesto del monitor de tensión del cable.

1. Coloque el monitor de tensión del cable como se muestra (Figuras 1 y 2). El monitor de tensión del cable debe estar colocado tan cerca del carrete como sea posible.

5. Pase el cable del timbre hasta el motor. Use grapas con aislamiento para sujetar el cable en varios lugares.

6. Conecte el cable del timbre a los terminales de conexión rápida verdes (no importa la polaridad) (Figura 3).

NOTA: El cable debe estar tenso en todo su recorrido. Asegúrese de que no haya aflojamiento en el cable del lado opuesto de la puerta de garaje durante la operación normal. Si hay aflojamiento, ajuste los cables según lo requerido.

Ubique el control de la puerta de manera que quede a la vista desde la puerta y a una altura mínima de 1.5 m (5 pies) donde los niños pequeños no lo puedan alcanzar y lejos de las partes móviles de la puerta y sus accesorios de montaje. La superficie de instalación debe ser lisa y plana. En paredes de paneles, hacer agujeros de 5/32 de pulg. y usar los tarugos suministrados con la unidad. Si hay una instalación realizada especialmente para el abre-puertas (como podría ser el caso en una construcción nueva), se puede montar en una caja simple de conexiones (Figura 1).

NOTA: La gama de temperaturas de funcionamiento del control de puerta está comprendida entre -4° F (-20° C) y 122° F (50° C). La velocidad de desplazamiento de la pantalla es menor a temperaturas inferiores aunque el control de la puerta siga pudiendo funcionar en su totalidad.

PRECAUCIÓN: La exposición continua del control de la puerta a temperaturas inferiores a -22° F (-30° C) puede dañar la pantalla LCD.

INSTALACIÓN, PASO 6

Instalación de la luz

La luz remota (Luz de abre-puertas) está diseñada para enchufaria directamente en una toma de corriente estándar de 120 V.

1. Instale los ganchos para la bisagra y para el pestillo. Los ganchos se deslizan entre la placa de metal y el alojamiento de plástico de cada lado de la base de la luz (Figura 1).

2. Seleccione la ubicación apropiada en el techo para montar la luz dentro de 1.8 m (6 pies) de una salida eléctrica para que el cordón y la luz estén lejos de piezas móbiles.

3. Instale la placa de montaje de cielo con los tornillos proporcionados. Deje 3.1 mm (1/8 de pulg.) de la rosca *exposed* entre la placa de montaje de techo y la rosca del tornillo (Figura 2).

NOTA: Si instala la luz remota (luz de abre-puertas) en un panel de pared y no puede encontrar una viga del techo, utilice las anclas para panel de pared incluidas. No se requieren orificios para las anclas de panel de pared.

4. Determine la longitud del cable de corriente requerida para alcanzar la toma de corriente más cercana. Enrolle el cable sobrante alrededor del sujetador de cable situado en el lado superior de la base de la luz.

5. Instale la base de la luz apretando los tornillos y girando la base en la dirección de las manecillas del reloj para fijar la luz en su lugar.

6. Instale dos bulbs de typo A19 incandescente o flourescente compacto. Máximo de 100 vatios cada bulb, 200 vatios total

7. Instale el cristal de la luz enganchando un extremo del cristal en la bisagra y empujando hacia arriba el otro extremo para que se sujete en su lugar (Figura 3).

8. Enchufe la luz a la toma de corriente.

NOTA: La luz no funcionará hasta que se active la consola.

4. Si aún así no entra, diríjase a un electricista profesional.

5. NUNCA use una extensión a menos que el enchufe se pueda enchufar por completo.

6. No modifique el enchufe.

7. La luz es SOLAMENTE para montaje en el techo y aplicaciones interiores.

Para evitar un posible SOBRECALENTAMIENTO del portabombillas:

• NO utilice bombillas de cuello corto ni de tipo especial.

• NO utilice bombillas halógenas. Utilice SÓLO bombillas incandescentes.

Para evitar daño al abridor:

Requisitos para la instalación eléctrica

Para evitar problemas con la instalación, no opere el abre-puertas ahora.

Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, su abre-puertas de garaje viene con un enchufe de conexión a tierra de tres clavijas. Esta clavija sólo se puede conectar a una toma de corriente puesta a tierra y con tres entradas. Si el enchufe no entra en la toma de corriente que usted tiene, diríjase a un electricista profesional para que instale la toma de corriente correcta.

Si la reglamentación local exige que su abre-puertas tenga cableado permanente, siga los siguientes pasos.

Para realizar una conexión permanente a través del orificio de 7/8 de pulg. en la parte posterior del motor (de conformidad con la reglamentación local):

• Quite el abre-puertas de la barra de torsión, quite los tornillos de la cubierta y deje la cubierta a un lado.

• Quite la terminal verde de puesta a tierra que está sujeta.

• Corte el cable blanco y el negro y pele 1.3 cm (1/2 de pulg.) de cada cable, 7.6 cm (3 pulg.) antes de las terminales de horquilla.

• Quite el cable de corriente de la consola.

• Instale un conducto de 90 el orificio de 7/8 de pulg.. Reinstale el abre-puertas a la barra de torsión.

• Pase los cables a través del conducto, córtelos a la medida adecuada y pélelos.

• Sujételos con los empalmes para cables incluidos

Instalación del Protector System

El sensor para reversa de seguridad se debe conectar y alinear antes de que se haga la puerta por primera vez. Este es un sistema de seguridad requerido y no puede ser incapacitado.

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE SOBRE EL SENSOR DE REVERSA DE SEGURIDAD.

Bajo condiciones normales de instalación, conexión y alineación, el sensor detectará cualquier obstáculo que interrumpa o interfiera con el haz electrónico. El emisor, que tiene una luz indicadora ámbar, transmite un haz invisible de luz hacia el receptor, que tiene una luz indicadora verde. Si hubiera una obstrucción en la trayectoria del haz de luz mientras la puerta está bajando, se invertirá la dirección del movimiento y la puerta volverá a su posición de abierta. La luz del abre-puertas destellará 10 veces para indicar el evento.

Ambas piezas del sistema se deben instalar del lado interno del garaje, con el emisor y el receptor enfrentados y alineados, a una altura no mayor de 15 cm (6 pulg.) sobre el piso. Es indistinto el lado en que se instalen (izquierdo o derecho) el emisor y el receptor, siempre y cuando el receptor nunca reciba luz solar en forma directa.

Las ménsulas de montaje están disñadas para engancharse directamente a la guía de puertas seccionales de garajes, sin necesidad de usar otros accesorios de fijación.

ANTES de instalar el sensor de reversa de seguridad, asegúrese de que no esté conectada la alimentación eléctrica al sistema.

Para evitar la posibilidad de un accidente GRAVE o FATAL durante el cierre de la puerta del garaje:

• Preste atención a la conexión y alineación del sensor de reversa de seguridad. Este sistema de seguridad NO DEBE quedar anulado.

• Instale el sensor de reversa de seguridad a una altura del piso que NO SEA SUPERIOR a 15 cm (6 pulg.)

Si fuera necesario montar el dispositivo en la pared, las ménsulas de montaje se deben fijar firmemente a una superficie sólida, tal como el encofrado o vigas de la pared. Si fuea necesario, se pueden comprar ménsulas de prolongación (véanse los Accesorios disponibles). Se la instalación se realiza en mampostería, es conveniente montar las unidades sobre un trozo de madera, ya que esto facilita hacer nuevos agujeros si fuera necesario reubicar las unidades.

Asegúrese de que no hayan obstrucciones ni interferencias con la trayectoria del haz. Durante el cierre de la puerta, ninguna de sus partes ni ninguno de sus accesorios y componentes debe interrumpir el haz.

INSTALACIÓN DE LOS SOPORTES Asegúrese de que el abre-puertas no esté conectado a la

energía eléctrica. Instale y alinee los soportes, de modo que los

sensores de reversa de seguridad se enfrenten de un extremo al otro de la puerta. El rayo no debe encontrarse a una distancia superior a las 15 cm (6 pulg.) del suelo. Los soportes pueden instalarse de uno de los tres modos a continuación.

Instalación en las guías de la puerta del garaje (preferida) (Figura 1):

• Deslice los brazos curvados por encima del borde redondeado de cada guía de la puerta. Los brazos curvados deben mirar hacia la puerta. Coloque el soporte a presión contra el costado de la guía. Debe estar nivelada, y el reborde de sujeción debe estar asegurado al borde posterior de la guía, como se muestra en la Figura 1.

Si la guía de su puerta no sostiene firmemente el soporte, se recomienda la instalación en la pared.

Instalación en la pared (Figuras 2 y 3):

• Coloque el soporte contra la pared, de modo que los brazos curvados miren hacia la puerta. Asegúrese de que haya suficiente espacio libre para que el rayo del sensor no quede obstruido.

• Si se requiere mayor profundidad, pueden utilizarse bloques de madera o una extensión de soporte (consulte Accesorios).

• Utilice los orificios de montaje del soporte como plantilla para ubicar y taladrar 2 orificios de 3/16 de pulg. en la pared, a cada lado de la puerta y a una distancia que no sea superior a las 6 pulg. (15 cm) del suelo.

• Sujete los soportes a la pared con tornillos de cabeza cuadrada (no incluidos).

• Si utiliza extensiones de soporte o bloques de madera, ajuste los ensambles derecho e izquierdo a la misma distancia de la superficie de montaje. Asegúrese de que las piezas de la puerta no obstruyan el rayo.

Instalación en el piso (Figura 4):

• Utilice bloques de madera o extensiones de soporte (consulte Accesorios) para elevar los soportes de los sensores, de modo que los cristales se encuentren a una distancia no superior a las 15 cm (6 pulg.) del piso.

• Mida cuidadosamente los ensambles derecho e izquierdo y colóquelos a la misma distancia de la pared. Asegúrese de que las piezas de la puerta no obstruyan el rayo.

• Sujete los soportes al suelo con anclas para concreto, como se muestra.

ALINEACIÓN DE LOS SENSORES DE REVERSA DE SEGURIDAD

• Enchufe el abre-puertas. Las luces indicadoras del emisor y del receptor se iluminarán continuamente si las conexiones del cableado y la alineación son correctas.

La luz indicadora de color ámbar del emisor se iluminará independientemente de la alineación o de si hay obstrucción. Si la luz indicadora de color verde del receptor está apagada, es débil o parpadea (y el trayecto del rayo de luz invisible no está obstruido), se requiere alineación.

• Afloje la tuerca mariposa del emisor y reajústelo para que apunte directamente al receptor. Sujételo en el lugar correcto.

• Afloje la tuerca mariposa del receptor y ajuste el sensor de reversa de seguridad hasta que reciba el rayo del emisor. Cuando la luz indicadora color verde se ilumine continuamente, apriete la tuerca mariposa.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS DE LOS SENSORES DE REVERSA DE SEGURIDAD

1. Si la luz indicadora del emisor no se ilumina continuamente luego de la instalación, revise:

• Si el abre-puertas recibe energía eléctrica.

• Si hay un cortocircuito en el cable blanco o en el blanco y

negro. Esto puede suceder en las grapas o en las conexiones del abre-puertas.

• Si el cableado entre los sensores de reversa de seguridad y

el abre-puertas es incorrecto.

• Si hay un cable roto.

2. Si la luz indicadora del emisor se ilumina continuamente, pero la luz indicadora del receptor no lo hace:

• Revise la alineación.

• Revise si un cable abierto se conecta al receptor.

3. Si la luz indicadora del receptor es débil, realinee cualquiera de los sensores.

NOTA: Cuando el trayecto del rayo invisible esté obstruido o desalineado mientras la puerta se esté cerrando, la puerta retrocederá. Si la puerta ya está abierta, no se cerrará. Las luces del luz remota van a parpadear 10 veces. (Si las bombillas no están instaladas, se podrán escuchar 10 chasquidos.) Consulte la página 11.

Programación de los límites del recorrido

Los límites del recorrido regulan los puntos en los que la puerta se detendrá al abrirse y cerrarse. Respete los siguientes pasos para fijar los límites.

Para programar los límites del recorrido:

2. Oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón negro hasta que la puerta alcance la posición ARRIBA (abierta) deseada (Figura 2).

NOTA: Verifique que la puerta se abra lo suficiente para que pase su vehículo.

3. Oprima el control remoto o el control de la puerta (Figura 3). Esto fija el límite ARRIBA (abierta) y comienza a cerrar la puerta.

NOTA: El movimiento excesivo del motor causará desgaste prematuro. Consulte la sección de Resolución de problemas.

4. Inmediatamente después de que la puerta comience a moverse hacia abajo, oprima y suelte el botón negro o el púrpura. Esto detendrá la puerta.

5. Ajuste de la posición ABAJO: Oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón púrpura hasta que la puerta alcance la posición ABAJO (cerrada) deseada (Figura 4).

6. Si parece que la puerta tiene presión correcta una vez que está cerrada (Puede empujar manualmente la puerta abajo 1/16 de una pulg.). Si la puerta tiene presión exceso, puede mover la puerta hacia adelente y hacia atras utilizando el boton negro y purpura para alcanzar la posición deseada.

7. Oprima el control remoto o el control de la puerta (Figura 3). Esto fija el límite ABAJO (cerrada) y debe mover la puerta hacia la posición abierta.

• Si el abre-puertas no se detiene exactamente donde usted

quiere, repita los pasos 1 a 7 y programe los límites nuevamente.

• Cuando la consola se detenga en la posición arriba (abierta)

y la posición abajo (cerrada) deseadas, proceda al Paso 2

de la sección de Ajustes, Cómo ajustar la fuerza.

Si el sistema de reversa de seguridad no se ha instalado debidamente, las personas (y los niños pequeños en particular) podrían sufrir LESIONES GRAVES o incluso LA MUERTE cuando se cierre la puerta del garaje.

• NUNCA programe fuerzas o límites si la puerta está atorada o atascada. Primero, repare la puerta.

• El ajuste incorrecto de los límites del recorrido de la puerta del garaje habrá de interferir con la operación adecuada del sistema de reversa de seguridad.

• Después de llevar a cabo CUALQUIER ajuste, se DEBE probar el sistema de reversa de seguridad. La puerta DEBE retroceder al entrar en contacto con un objeto de 3.8 cm (1-1/2 de pulg.) de altura (o un tablón de 2x4 acostado) que se coloque en el suelo.

Cómo ajustar la fuerza

El botón para ajustar la fuerza se ubica en el panel delantero. El ajuste de la fuerza mide la cantidad de fuerza necesaria para abrir y cerrar la puerta.

1. Ubique el botón púrpura de la unidad (Figura 1).

2. Oprima el botón púrpura dos veces para que la consola ingrese al Modo de Ajuste de Fuerza (Figura 2). La LED (Luz Indicadora) parpadeará rápidamente.

3. Oprima el control remoto o el control de la puerta (Figura 3). La puerta se moverá hasta la posición ABAJO (cerrada). Oprima el control remoto o el control de la puerta nuevamente y la puerta se moverá hasta la posición ARRIBA (abierta). Oprima el control remoto o el control de la puerta por tercera vez para enviar la puerta a la posición ABAJO (cerrada).

La LED (Luz Indicadora) dejará de parpadear cuando la fuerza se haya programado.

La consola ya aprendió las fuerzas necesarias para abrir y cerrar su puerta.

La puerta debe recorrer un ciclo completo, arriba y abajo, para que la fuerza se ajuste adecuadamente. Si la consola no puede abrir ni cerrar su puerta completamente, inspeccione su puerta para asegurarse de que esté bien equilibrada y no esté atascada ni atorada. Consulte la página 4, “Preparación de la puerta de su

garaje”.

Si el sistema de reversa de seguridad no se ha instalado debidamente, las personas (y los niños pequeños en particular) podrían sufrir LESIONES GRAVES o INCLUSO LA MUERTE cuando se cierre la puerta del garaje.

• NUNCA programe fuerzas o límites si la puerta está atorada o atascada. Primero repare la puerta.

• Con la puerta totalmente abierta, coloque un tablón de

• Opere la puerta en la dirección hacia abajo. La puerta debe retroceder al entrar en contacto con la obstrucción. Una vez que haya realizado una prueba exitosa del sistema de reversa de seguridad, proceda al Paso 4 de la sección de Ajustes.

AJUSTE

• Si la puerta se detiene al entrar en contacto con la obstrucción, esto significa que el recorrido hacia abajo no es suficiente. Complete los Pasos 1 y 2 de la sección de Ajustes, Programación de los límites y las fuerzas.

• Repita la prueba.

• Cuando la puerta retroceda al entrar en contacto con el tablón de 3.8 cm (1-1/2 de pulg.) (o de 2x4 acostado), quite la obstrucción y opere el abre-puertas para que realice 3 ó 4 ciclos completos de operación a fin de probar el ajuste.

• Si la consola continúa reprobando la Prueba de reversa de seguridad, llame a un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas.

• El sistema de reversa de seguridad se DEBE probar cada mes.

• Si se ajusta uno de los controles (límites de la fuerza o del recorrido), es posible que sea necesario ajustar también el otro control.

VERIFICACIÓN IMPORTANTE DE SEGURIDAD:

Pruebe el Sistema de reversa de seguridad luego de:

• Cada ajuste de límites o de controles de fuerza.

• Cualquier reparación o ajuste a la puerta del garaje (incluidos los resortes y las piezas).

• Cualquier reparación al suelo del garaje porque esté desnivelado, etc.

• Cualquier reparación o ajuste al abre-puertas.

AJUSTES, PASO 4

Prueba del Protector System

• Oprima el botón del control remoto para abrir la puerta.

• Coloque la caja del abre-puertas en el trayecto de la puerta.

• Oprima el botón del control remoto para cerrar la puerta. La puerta no se moverá más de una pulg., y las luces del abre-puertas parpadearán.

El abre-puertas del garaje no se cerrará con un control remoto si la luz indicadora de cualquiera de los sensores está apagada (lo cual le indica que el sensor esta desalineado u obstruido).

Si el abre-puertas cierra la puerta cuando el sensor de reversa de seguridad está obstruido, no opere la puerta. Llame a un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas.

• Cuando la puerta esté totalmente cerrada, el perno del seguro de puerta eléctrico debe sobresalir a través de la guía.

• Opere la puerta en la dirección hacia arriba. El seguro de puerta eléctrico debe replegarse antes de que la puerta comience a moverse.

• Opere la puerta en la dirección hacia abajo. Cuando la puerta alcance la posición totalmente cerrada, el seguro de puerta eléctrico debe activarse automáticamente para asegurar la puerta.

NOTA: Si el seguro de puerta eléctrico no funciona, puede desengancharse manualmente moviendo la manija de desenganche manual hacia la posición abierta.

Para evitar la posibilidad de una LESIÓN GRAVE o INCLUSO LA MUERTE si la puerta del garaje se cae:

• NUNCA use la manija de desenganche de emergencia a menos que la entrada al garaje esté libre de obstrucciones y no haya ninguna persona presente.

Cómo abrir la puerta manualmente

Desactive el seguro de puerta antes de continuar. Si es posible, la puerta se debe cerrar completamente. Jale la manija de desenganche de emergencia hasta que escucharán un clasquido de unidad y levante la puerta manualmente. Para volver a conectar la puerta al abre-puertas, jale la manija de desenganche de emergencia hacia abajo por segunda vez hasta que escucharán un clasquido de unidad. La puerta se volverá a conectar la próxima vez que la accione hacia ARRIBA o hacia ABAJO.

Prueba del desenganche de emergencia:

• Asegúrese de que la puerta del garaje esté cerrada.

• Jale la manija del desenganche de emergencia. La puerta del garaje debe poder abrirse manualmente.

• Regrese la puerta a la posición cerrada.

• Jale la manija de emergencia por segunda vez.

• Vuelva a conectar la puerta al abre-puertas.

3. Haga funcionar la puerta del garaje SÓLO cuando la pueda ver con claridad, esté debidamente ajustada y no haya ninguna obstrucción en su recorrido.

4. Tenga SIEMPRE la puerta del garaje a la vista hasta que esté completamente cerrada. NADIE DEBE ATRAVESAR EL RECORRIDO DE LA PUERTA CUANDO ESTÁ EN MOVIMIENTO.

5. NADIE DEBE PASAR POR DEBAJO DE UNA PUERTA DETENIDA QUE ESTÉ PARCIALMENTE ABIERTA.

6. Si es posible, utilice la manija de desenganche de emergencia para desenganchar la puerta SÓLO cuando la puerta del garaje esté CERRADA. Si los resortes están débiles o rotos, o bien si la puerta está desequilibrada y se abre, ésta podría caerse rápida y/o inesperadamente.

7. NUNCA use la manija de desenganche de emergencia a menos que la entrada al garaje esté libre de obstrucciones y no haya ninguna persona presente.

Uso del abre-puertas de garaje

El abre-puertas y el control remoto Security✚® vienen programados de fábrica con un código de interactuación que cambia aleatoriamente cada vez que se usa el mecanismo, y se pueden combinar hasta 100 mil millones de códigos. El abre-puertas es compatible para funcionar con ocho controles remotos Security✚ Si compra un control remoto nuevo, o si desea desactivar uno existente, siga las instrucciones de la sección Programación.

Puede activar el abre-puertas de alguna de las siguientes maneras:

• Con el control remoto portátil: Mantenga oprimido el botón grande hasta que la puerta se empiece a mover.

• Con el control de la puerta: Mantenga oprimido el botón o barra hasta que la puerta se empiece a mover.

• Con el acceso sin llave (Véase la sección Accessories): Si se incluye con su abre-puertas de garaje, deberá estar programado antes de usarlo. Véase Programación.

Cuando se activa el abre-puertas (con los sensores de seguridad correctamente instalados y alineados):

1. La puerta se cerrará si está abierta, o se abrirá si está cerrada.

2. Si la puerta se está cerrando, invertirá la dirección de movimiento.

3. Si la puerta se está abriendo, se va a detener.

4. Si la puerta se ha detenido en un posición parcialmente abierta, se va a cerrar.

8. Después de llevar a cabo CUALQUIER ajuste, se DEBE probar el sistema de reversa de seguridad.

11. TODAS las reparaciones necesarias para los cables, resortes y otras piezas las DEBE llevar a cabo un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas, pues TODAS estas piezas están bajo una tensión EXTREMA.

12. SIEMPRE desconecte la alimentación eléctrica al abre-puertas de garaje ANTES de llevar a cabo CUALQUIER reparación o de quitar las cubiertas.

CONSERVE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES.

5. Si hay una obstrucción mientras se cierra, invertirá la dirección

de movimiento. Si una obstrucción interrumpiera el haz del sensor, la luz del sistema se encenderá intermitentemente durante cinco segundos.

6. Si hay una obstrucción durante la apertura, la puerta se

detendrá.

7. Si el haz del sensor está interrumpido y la puerta está abierta,

no se cerrará. El sensor no afecta la apertura de la puerta.

Si el sensor no está instalado o está más alineado, la puerta no se cerrará con el comando de un control remoto portátil. La puerta en tal caso se podrá cerrar con el control de la puerta, la cerradura externa o el acceso sin llave. Si estos controles se sueltan demasiado rápido, la puerta volverá a abrirse.

La luz del abre-puertas se encenderá cada vez que se activa el abre-puertas. Se apagarán automáticamente después de 4,5 minutos, o quedarán encendidas si está activada la función de Iluminación en Smart Control Panel A19. El poder de la bombilla es 100 máximo de vatios.

Esta consola de control contiene un detector de movimiento que encenderá automáticamente la luz cuando detecte la entrada de una persona en el garaje.

El control de la puerta está equipada con un botón de Prog <PROGRAMACIÓN> para asistir en la programación de los controles remotos de la unidad. Oprima el botón de Luz para encender o apagar la luz del abridor. Este botón no controla las luces del abridor cuando la puerta está en movimiento. Si usted enciende la luz y luego activa el abridor, la luz permanecerá encendida durante cuatro minutos y medio. Oprima el botón nuevamente para que la luz se apague antes. El intervalo de 4 minutos y 1/2 puede cambiarse a 1 minuto y 1/2, 2 minutos y 1/2 o 3 minutos y 1/2, como sigue: Oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón del seguro (Lock) hasta que la luz empiece a parpadear (alrededor de 10 segundos). Si parpadea una vez, esto indica que el medidor de tiempo se ha fijado a un minuto y medio. Repita el procedimiento y la luz parpadeará dos veces, lo que significa que el intervalo se ha fijado en 2 minutos y 1/2. Repita una vez más si desea un intervalo de 3 minutos y 1/2, etc., hasta un máximo de 4 minutos y 1/2, en cuyo caso la luz parpadeará cuatro veces.

Al usar las luces del abre-puertas como luces de trabajo, recomendamos que primero inhabilite el detector de movimiento.

Característica de la luz de detección de movimiento: La luz del abridor se encenderá automáticamente cuando una persona camine por delante de la consola de control de pared. Esta característica funciona al detectar el movimiento y el calor del cuerpo. La luz del abridor se encenderá durante 5 minutos, y después de apagará automáticamente si no se calcula una

diferencia de movimiento o calor adicionales. Para desactivar esta característica, oprima el botón de

encendido/apagado automático de la luz del lado izquierdo de la consola de control.

Recomendamos que desactive el sensor de movimiento cuando use las luces del abridor como luces de trabajo. De lo contrario se apagarán automáticamente si está trabajando más allá de la gama del sensor.

Oprima o mantenga oprimido uno de estos botones laterales para aumentar las horas o minutos mostrados en la pantalla LCD.

Cómo usar el control remoto

NOTA: Para activar las funciones del control remoto, tire hacia afuera de la lengüeta de plástico que sobresale de la caja del control remoto.

Este control remoto está equipado con una función de luz de proximidad. Al mover la mano cerca del control remoto, las luces LED se encenderán durante 3 segundos. Después de activar el botón del control remoto, las luces LED destellaránn rápidamente.

Función de Desactivación de Proximidad

El control remoto desactivará la función de luz de proximidad si se enciende la luz de proximidad 10 veces seguidas sin activar el botón. Para volver a activar la luz de proximidad, simplemente oprima un botón. Está función prolonga la duración de la pila.

Para Controlar las Luces del Abridor

Con los controles remotos 315MHz Security✚

se puede programar un botón para operar las luces del abridor sin abrir la puerta.

1. Con la puerta cerrada, oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón

del control remoto que desee usar para el control de la luz.

2. Oprima sin soltar el botón Light (Luz) del tablero de control de

varias funciones.

3. Oprima sin soltar el botón Lock (Trabar) del tablero de control

de varias funciones.

4. Después de que las luces del abridor se enciendan

brevemente, suelte todos los botones.

Pruebe oprimiendo el botón de control remoto. Las luces del abridor deben encenderse o apagarse pero no se debe mover la puerta.

Diagnóstico de Problemas

PROBLEMA SOLUCIÓN

Compruebe la luz de proximidad para ver si está desactivada oprimiendo un botón.

Detección de proximidad reducida (no se activa al tocar la parte de arriba del control remoto)

El sensor de proximidad puede ser demasiado sensible. Coloque el control remoto en un lugar sin interferencias durante 60 segundos sobre una superficie que no sea metálica. Esto permite al sensor volver a calibrarse.

La batería del control remoto

Para evitar la posibilidad de LESIONES GRAVES O incluso LA MUERTE:

• NUNCA permita que los niños pequeños estén cerca de las baterías.

• Si alguien se traga una batería, llame al médico de inmediato. Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, explosión o combustión química:

• Reemplace ÚNICAMENTE con baterías planas 3V2016 o 3V2450.

• NO recargue, desarme, caliente por encima de 212 °F (100 °C) o incinere.

Las pilas de litio 3V2016 para el abridor y las luces LED (marcadas “LED and Oponer Battery” [Pila de LED y abridor]) deben durar 5 años. La pila de litio 3V2450 para la luz de proximidad (marcada “Proximity Battery” [Pila de proximidad]) debe durar de 1 a 2 años.

Para reemplazar las pilas, quite los dos tornillos y abra la caja del control remoto. Empuje la pila hacia afuera del cargador para sacarla. Introduzca las pilas de repuesto con los lados positivos apuntando hacia arriba. Deseche debidamente las pilas usadas.

Reemplace las pilas solamente por pilas de botón 3V2016 o 3V2450.

PRECAUCIÓN: No doble el contacto del resorte. Si está doblado, no funcionará el sensor de proximidad.

CALENDARIO DE MANTENIMIENTO

Una vez al mes

• Opere la puerta manualmente. Si está desequilibrada o se atasca, llame a un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas.

• Verifique que la puerta se abra y se cierre completamente. Si es necesario, ajuste los límites y/o la fuerza (consulte los Pasos 1 y 2 de la sección de Ajustes).

• Repita la prueba de reversa de seguridad. Realice los ajustes que sean necesarios (consulte el Paso 3 de la sección de Ajustes).

Una vez al año

• Ponga aceite en los rodillos, los cojinetes y las bisagras de la puerta. El abre-puertas no necesita lubricación adicional. No lubrique los rieles de la puerta.

SI TIENE ALGÚN PROBLEMA (RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS)

1. El abre-puertas no funciona con el control de la puerta ni

con el control remoto:

• ¿Está el abre-puertas conectado a la energía eléctrica?

Enchufe una lámpara a la toma de corriente. Si no se enciende, revise la caja de fusibles o el interruptor automático. Algunas tomas de corriente se controlan con un interruptor de pared.

• ¿Ha desactivado todos los seguros de la puerta? Revise las

advertencias de las instrucciones de instalación que aparecen en la página 7.

• ¿Hay nieve o hielo acumulado debajo de la puerta? La puerta

puede congelarse y quedarse pegada al suelo. Elimine cualquier restricción.

• El resorte de la puerta del garaje puede estar roto. Haga que

2. El abre-puertas opera con el control remoto,

pero no funciona con la consola de control:

• ¿Está encendida el control de la puerta? Si no lo está, invierta

los cables. Si el abre-puertas funciona, revise que los cables estén bien conectados en la consola de control, vea si hay algún corto debajo de las grapas o algún cable roto por dos segundos.

• ¿Las conexiones del cableado son correctas? Revise el

Paso 5 de la sección de Instalación, página 10.

3. La puerta funciona con el control de la puerta, pero no

funciona con el control remoto:

• ¿Está parpadeando la barra pulsadora de la puerta? De ser

así, el modo de seguro está activado. Asegúrese de que esté apagado oprimiendo el botón del seguro (LOCK).

• Programe el abre-puertas de modo que coincida con el código

del control remoto. (Siga las instrucciones del panel del motor). Repita este paso con todos los controles remotos.

4. El control remoto tiene corto alcance:

• Cambie la ubicación del control remoto en su automóvil.

• Verifique que la antena que se encuentra a un lado o en el panel posterior del motor se extienda hacia abajo completamente.

• Algunas instalaciones pueden tener menor alcance si la puerta es de metal, tiene aislamiento o si el recubrimiento externo del garaje es de metal.

5. La puerta del garaje se abre y se cierra por sí misma:

• Asegúrese de que todos los botones del control remoto estén

apagados.

• Quite el cable del timbre del terminal del control de la puerta

7. La puerta abre, pero no cierra:

• Revise el monitor de tensión del cable (vea paso 4 de instalación).

• Si las luces del abre-puertas parpadean, revise el sensor de reversa de seguridad. Consulte el Paso 9 de la sección de

Instalación.

• Si las luces del abre-puertas no parpadean y se trata de una instalación nueva, Consulte el Paso 2 de la sección de

Ajustes. Para una instalación existente, vea a continuación.

Repita la prueba de reversa de seguridad después de terminar el ajuste.

8. La puerta retrocede sin ninguna razón en particular y las luces del abre-puertas no parpadean:

• Revise el monitor de tensión del cable (vea Paso 4 de Instalación).

• ¿Hay algo que esté obstruyendo la puerta? Jale la manija de desenganche de emergencia. Opere la puerta manualmente. Si está desequilibrada o se atasca, llame a un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas.

• Limpie el suelo del garaje si tiene hielo o nieve en el punto donde la puerta se cierra.

• Revise el Paso 2 de la sección de Ajustes.

Repita la prueba de reversa de seguridad luego de los ajustes.

9. La puerta retrocede sin ninguna razón en particular y las luces del abre-puertas parpadean durante 5 segundos luego de retroceder:

• Revise el sensor de reversa de seguridad. Quite cualquier obstrucción o alinee el receptor. Consulte el Paso 9 de la sección de Instalación.

10. El abre-puertas utiliza demasiada fuerza para operar la puerta:

• La puerta puede estar desequilibrada o los resortes pueden estar rotos. Ciérrela y use la manija de desenganche de emergencia para desconectar la puerta. Abra y cierre la puerta manualmente. Si está bien equilibrada, se sostendrá en cualquier punto del recorrido con sólo el soporte de sus resortes. Si esto no ocurre, desconecte el abre-puertas y llame a un técnico especializado en sistemas de puertas.

11. El motor del abre-puertas hace un ruido breve, pero luego no funciona:

• Los resortes de la puerta del garaje pueden estar rotos. Consulte los párrafos anteriores.

• Si el problema se presenta la primera vez que acciona el abre-puertas, es posible que la puerta esté con seguro. Desactive el seguro de puerta eléctrico.

12. El abre-puertas no funciona debido a una falla en la alimentación eléctrica:

• Abra el seguro de puerta eléctrico manualmente.

• Use la manija de desenganche de emergencia para desconectar la puerta. La puerta se puede abrir y cerrar manualmente. Cuando se restaure la alimentación eléctrica, jale el desenganche manual por segunda vez.

• Si se conecta una consola de batería de apoyo, el abre-puertas debe funcionar hasta 20 veces sin alimentación eléctrica.

13. La puerta pierde los límites.

• El collar no está sujetado firmemente. Apriete el collar (consulte los Pasos 1 y 2 de la sección de Ensamblado) y vuelva a programar los límites (consulte el Paso 1 de la sección de Ajustes).

14. El operador se mueve cuando la puerta está en

funcionamiento:

• Es normal que haya pequeños movimientos en este producto. Si el movimiento es excesivo, el collar se desgastará prematuramente.

• Verifique que la barra de torsión no se mueva hacia la izquierda ni hacia la derecha excesivamente.

• Verifique que la barra de torsión no se mueva visiblemente hacia arriba o hacia abajo cuando rota.

• Verifique que el operador esté montado a un ángulo correcto con respecto al eje secundario. De lo contrario, mueva la posición del soporte de montaje.

15. El seguro eléctrico hace ruido cuando funciona.

Esta característica desactivará el abridor de las señales de control remoto de recepción. Para salir de la modalidad de BLOQUEO, oprima el botón sin soltarlo durante más de un segundo.

Significado: Este mensaje aparecerá cuando se haya oprimido el botón de Idioma. Al oprimir el botón se pasará al idioma siguiente.

Significado: Este mensaje aparecerá cuando se haya oprimido el botón de Detección de movimiento. El detector de movimiento se encenderá y se apagará cada vez que se oprima el botón.

Su abre-puertas de garaje viene programado con funciones de autodiagnóstico. El botón de “aprendizaje” (LEARN)/la LED de diagnóstico va a parpadear varias veces y luego se detendrá, lo cual significa que ha encontrado un posible problema. Consulte el siguiente Cuadro de diagnóstico.

1 PARPADEO

Cable de los sensores de reversa de seguridad abierto (roto o desconectado).

2 PARPADEOS

Cable de sensores de reversa de seguridad en corto o cables blanco y negro invertidos.

Síntoma: Una o ambas luces indicadoras de los sensores de reversa de seguridad no se iluminan continuamente.

• Verifique que no haya ningún corto en los cables de los sensores (una grapa en el cable), que la polaridad del cableado sea correcta (los cables negros y blancos están invertidos) y que no haya cables rotos o desconectados. Reemplace o ajuste los cables, según sea necesario.

• Desconecte todos los cables de la parte posterior del motor.

• Quite los sensores de los soportes y acorte los cables de los sensores de 1 a 2 pies (30 a 60 cm) de la parte posterior de cada sensor.

• Conecte nuevamente el emisor al motor utilizando los cables acortados. Si la luz indicadora del emisor se ilumina continuamente, conecte el receptor.

• Alinee los sensores. Si las luces indicadoras se iluminan, reemplace los cables de los sensores. Si las luces indicadoras de los sensores no se iluminan, reemplace los sensores de reversa de seguridad.

Síntoma: la LED no se ilumina en el control de la puerta.

• Verifique que no haya un corto (una grapa en el cable) en el control de la puerta ni en los cables. Reemplácelos según sea necesario.

• Desconecte los cables en el control de la puerta y toque un cable con el otro. Si el motor se activa, reemplace el control de la puerta.

• Si el motor no se activa, desconecte del motor los cables del control de la puerta. Una momentáneamente el terminal rojo y el terminal blanco con un cable conector. Si el motor se activa, reemplace los cables del control de la puerta.

Síntoma: La luz indicadora del emisor se ilumina continuamente, pero la luz indicadora del receptor es débil o parpadea.

• Realinee el sensor receptor, limpie el cristal y sujete los soportes.

• Verifique que la guía de la puerta esté sujetada firmemente a la pared y que no se mueva.

5 PARPADEOS

Motor sobrecalentado o posible falla en los sensores RPM. Desenchufe para volver a programar.

9 PARPADEOS

Inversión del monitor de tensión del cable.

Síntoma: El motor se sobrecalentó; el motor no funciona = el motor hace un ruido breve; sensor RPM = recorrido corto de 6 a 8 pulg. (15 a 20 cm).

• Desenchufe la consola para volver a programarla. Intente operar el motor y observe el código de diagnóstico.

• Si continúa parpadeando 5 veces y el motor se mueve de 15 a 20 cm (6 a 8 pulg.), reemplace el sensor RPM.

• Si el motor no funciona, significa que se sobrecalentó. Espere 30 minutos y vuelva a intentarlo. Si el motor sigue sin funcionar, reemplace el tablero lógico.

Síntoma: La puerta retrocede al cerrarse.

• Verifique si hay posibles obstrucciones a la puerta y quítelas.

• Verifique que el monitor de tensión del cable esté conectado correctamente al operador.

• Reemplace el monitor de tensión del cable.

Para cambiar una clave existente y conocida

1. Oprima los cuatro botones que correspondan a la clave actual; luego, oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón #.

La luz del abre-puertas parpadeará dos veces. Suelte el

botón #.

2. Oprima la nueva clave de cuatro dígitos que haya elegido y luego oprima Enter.

Las luces del motor van a parpadear una vez cuando la clave se haya aprendido.

Pruebe oprimiendo la nueva clave y luego oprima Enter. La puerta debe moverse.

Para poner una clave temporal

Usted puede autorizar el acceso a sus visitas o al personal de servicio con una clave temporal de cuatro dígitos. Después de un determinado número de horas o de accesos programados, esta clave temporal expira y no vuelve a abrir la puerta. Se puede usar para cerrar la puerta aún después de que haya expirado. Haga lo siguiente para poner una clave temporal:

1. Oprima los cuatro botones correspondientes a su clave de entrada personal (no la última clave temporal); luego oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón*.

La luz del abre-puertas va a parpadear tres veces. Suelte el

botón.

2. Oprima los cuatro dígitos de la clave temporal que haya elegido y luego oprima Enter.

La luz del abre-puertas va a parpadear cuatro veces.

NOTA: Este método requiere dos personas si la Llave Digital ya está montada afuera del garaje.

Pruebe oprimiendo los cuatro botones correspondientes a la clave temporal y luego oprima Enter. La puerta debe moverse. Si la clave temporal se fijó para un número determinado de accesos, recuerde que la prueba ha utilizado un acceso. Para borrar la contraseña temporal, repita los pasos 1, 2 y 3, y fije el número de horas o de veces en 0 en el paso 3.

Cierre con un botón: El abridor se puede cerrar presionando sólo el botón ENTER si está activada la función de cierre con un botón. Esta función viene activada de fábrica. Para activarla o desactivarla, presione y mantenga presionados los botones 1 y 9 durante 10 segundos. El teclado parpadeará dos veces cuando se active la función de cierre con un botón. y parpadeará cuatro veces cuando se la desactive.

Cómo reprogramar la luz o luz adicional

La luz remota de su abre-puertas de garaje ya viene programada de fábrica para operar con su abre-puertas. Todas luz remota adicionales o de reemplazo deberá programarse.

1. Oprima el botón de “aprendizaje” (LEARN) de la luz hasta que la LED se ENCIENDA.

2. Active la puerta del garaje usando el control remoto, el control de pared o la llave digital.

The Chamberlain Group, Inc. (“Vendedor”) garantiza al primer comprador minorista de este producto, para la residencia en que este producto se instale originalmente, que está libre de defectos de materiales y de mano de obra, por un período de cinco años a partir de la fecha de compra [y que el motor están libres de defectos de materiales y de mano de obra, por un período ilimitado desde la fecha de compra]. La operación correcta de este producto depende de su acatamiento de las instrucciones referentes a la instalación, operación, mantenimiento y prueba. El no obedecer estrictamente estas instrucciones anulará por completo esta garantía limitada.

Si durante el período de garantía limitada parece que este producto tiene un defecto que está cubierto por esta garantía limitada, antes de desmantelar este producto, comuníquese gratuitamente al 1-800-528-9131. A continuación, envíe este producto por correo asegurado con franqueo prepagado a nuestro centro de servicio con el fin de realizar la reparación cubierta por la garantía. Al llamar al centro de servicio correspondiente, le proporcionarán las instrucciones de envío apropiadas. Por favor, incluya una descripción breve del problema y un recibo fechado como prueba de compra con cualquier producto que sea devuelto a fin de que se realice la reparación cubierta por la garantía. Aquellos productos devueltos al Vendedor para la reparación cubierta por la garantía que, una vez recibidos por el Vendedor, se confirme que son defectuosos y que están cubiertos por esta garantía limitada, serán reparados o reemplazados (a opción única del Vendedor) sin costo para usted y serán devueltos con franqueo prepagado. Las piezas defectuosas serán reparadas o reemplazadas a opción única del Vendedor por piezas nuevas o reconstruidas de fábrica.

LA DURACIÓN DE TODA GARANTÍA IMPLÍCITA DEL PRODUCTO (INCLUIDAS, SIN EXCLUSIÓN, TODAS LAS GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS DE APTITUD COMERCIAL O DE APTITUD PARA CUMPLIR CON PROPÓSITOS PARTICULARES) ESTARÁ LIMITADA AL PERÍODO DE CINCO AÑOS DE LA GARANTÍA LIMITADA QUE SE ESTIPULA EN LA PRESENTE [EXCEPTO EL CASO DE LAS GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS CON RESPECTO AL MOTOR, CUYA DURACIÓN ESTARÁ LIMITADA AL PERÍODO DE LA GARANTÍA LIMITADA DE POR VIDA PARA EL MOTOR]. LAS GARANTÍAS IMPLÍCITAS NO TENDRÁN VIGENCIA NI SE APLICARÁN LUEGO DE DICHO PERÍODO. ESTA GARANTÍA LIMITADA NO CUBRE PROBLEMAS CON LA PUERTA DEL GARAJE, NI CON LAS PIEZAS DE LA PUERTA DEL GARAJE, NI PROBLEMAS QUE SE RELACIONEN CON DICHA PUERTA O DICHAS PIEZAS. ESTOS PROBLEMAS INCLUYEN, SIN EXCLUSIÓN, LOS RESORTES, LOS RODILLOS, LA ALINEACIÓN Y LAS BISAGRAS DE LA PUERTA. ESTA GARANTÍA LIMITADA TAMPOCO CUBRE PROBLEMAS CAUSADOS POR INTERFERENCIA. CUALQUIER VISITA DE SERVICIO QUE DETERMINE QUE EL PROBLEMA FUE PRODUCIDO POR UNA DE ESTAS CAUSAS PUEDE ACARREAR UN CARGO A SU CUENTA.

BAJO NINGUNA CIRCUNSTANCIA EL VENDEDOR SERÁ RESPONSABLE DE DAÑOS CONSECUENCIALES, INCIDENTALES O ESPECIALES QUE SURJAN EN RELACIÓN CON EL USO O INCAPACIDAD DE USO DE ESTE PRODUCTO.
