3.10 Selecting ALC Bandwidth
In the internal amplitude stabilization mode, the signal generator adopts automatic level control
(ALC) circuit before RF output.
ALC bandwidth has five options: Auto, 100 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz, and 100 kHz.
In auto mode (reset option), the signal generator automatically selects ALC bandwidth according to
the configuration and settings; when frequency is less than 1 MHz or vector modulation is turned on, the
bandwidth is 100 Hz, the frequency is between 1 MHz and 10 MHz, and the bandwidth is 1 kHz; when
AM is enabled and pulse modulation is disabled, the bandwidth is 100 kHz; in other cases, the
bandwidth is set to 10 kHz. In the non-automatic mode of ALC bandwidth, the bandwidth is set according
to the user's choice.
Operation Steps:
Step 1. Enable ALC bandwidth
Press the [Power] key or tap the [Power] function area on the touch screen, select the [ALC
bandwidth] option in the Power Configuration window, and set "ALC bandwidth manual" to ON.
Step 2. Select bandwidth value
Bandwidth options: 100 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz, and 100 kHz, which can be selected as required.
Limited bandwidths or narrow bandwidths will increase the sampling time of ALC, and can represent the
RMS values of the signals more accurately.
