General usage: This Underhoist Stand with Foot Pedal can be used to adjust vehicle transmissions
and mufflers that are secured inside an already supported vehicle.
Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1.Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2.Observe work area conditions . Keep work area well lighted.
3.Store idle equipment. When not in use, the Underhoist Stand must be stored in a dry location
to inhibit rust. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children.
4.
Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which the Underhoist
Stand was designed. It will do the job better and more safely supporting a load for which it was
intended. Do not modify the Underhoist Stand and do not use the Underhoist for a purpose for
which it was not intended.
5. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should
be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function.
Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation.
Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.

6.Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts will void the warranty.
7.Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on
prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there
is any doubt, do not operate the product.
9.Do not e xceed this pr oduct’s maximum load capacity of 1,650 Lbs.
10. Make certain that the load is fully centered on the saddle.
11. The part being adjusted must be securely supported through other means such as
chains, straps and hoists. The Underhoist Stand is not designed to solely support heavy
components.
12. Make certain to place the Underhoist Stand on a dry, clean, solid level surface capable of
supporting the Underhoist Stand, the vehicle and parts being hoisted, and the initial
source of secure support for the vehicle parts.
13. Always check hardware and assembled parts after assembling. All connections should
be tight and hardware tightened.
14. When using the Underhoist Stand, whenever possible, keep personnel clear of the area
under the item being adjusted.
15. Not to be used for aircraft purposes.
16. Failure to heed all instructions and warnings may result in death, personal injury, and /or
property damage.

Unpacking
When unpacking your Underhoist Stand with Foot Pedal, check to make sure the following par ts are
included. If any par ts are missing or broken, please call HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS at
1-800-444-3353.
Assembly
Your Underhoist Stand will require complete assembly prior to use. It is important that you read the
entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you assemble and use the Underhoist
Stand. Before assembling and operating the Underhoist Stand be sure that you have all parts
described in the Parts List and Assembly Diagram located on the last pages of this manual.
1.Thread the Holder (19) into the Base (21).
2.Thread the Handle (3) into the Metal Support (6).
3.Screw the Threaded Post (7) down into the the Metal Support (6). Continue to screw the
Threaded Post (7) do wn until most of the Threaded Post (7) is down inside the Metal
Support-see Figure 1.
4.Thread the Saddle (1) onto the top of the Threaded P ost (7)-see Figure 1 and Figure 2.
5.Screw in Lock Pin (2) to secure the Saddle (1) in place-see Figure 2.

6.Thread the Holder (19) down into the Base (21)-see Figure 3.
7.Set the Metal Support (6) down into the Holder (19). Insert Stop Pin (16) through Washer
(20) and insert it through the Holder (19) and Metal Support (6). Slide on second Washer
(20). Secure the Stop Pin in Place with Retaining Pin (18)-see Figure 3.

8.Set the leg of the Foot Pedal (14) into the slot between the bars on the Holder (19). Slide a
Washer (20) onto the Stop Pin (15). Slide the Stop Pin (15) through the bar, the F oot Pedal
leg and through the outside bar. Slide on second W asher (20). Thread on Retaining
Pin (18).
Operation
1.Make certain that the automotive part that you are working on is fully supported by
chains, straps and hoists. The Underhoist Stand is not designed to solely support
heavy components.
2.Set the Underhoist under the load to be worked on. Turn the Handle (3) counterclockwise to
raise and clockwise to lower the Saddle (1) of the Underhoist.
3.Set the Underhoist under the appropriate lifting points as indicated by the vehicle’ s o wner’s
manual. Center the load on the Saddle (1) and continue to turn the Handle (3) to bring the
Saddle (1) into full contact with the load to be supported.
4.Use the Foot Pedal (14) to jiggle the Saddle (1) while making minor adjustments to theload. This is the only purpose of this Underhoist Stand. Never attempt to use the
Underhoist Stand to support a load.
5.Reverse the order of steps one through five to lower the Underhoist. Make certain that
at all times the load is fully supported by other means than the Underhoist Stand.
