N1509-2 Alternator / N3207 Regulator

BRUSHLESS ALTERNATORS
When replacing N1509-1 and N1509-2 alternators
(see other side when replacing N1506-1 alternators):
1. Remove boot covering AC terminal on regulator.
2. Connect wiring as shown in Figures 1a, 1b, and 1c.
Installation Instructions
AC terminal connection
to vehicle AC circuit
(remove boot on regulator
and connect cabling) —
torque to 3.4 Nm/30 lb.in.
Energize terminal connection
to vehicle energize circuit—
torque to 3.4 Nm/30 lb.in.
28 V B+ terminal connection “RED”
to 28 V battery positive terminal
14 V B+ terminal connection “YELLOW”
to 14 V battery positive terminal
28 V B– terminal connection
to 28 V battery negative terminal
28 V B– terminal connection
to chassis ground

When replacing N1506-1 alternators (see other side when replacing N1509-1/N1509-2 alternators):
1. Boot on AC terminal must remain affixed to regulator. The AC terminal will not be used
when replacing an N1506-1 alternator.
2. Install plastic cable ties as required to terminal lug TL1001 and tie wire away from
alternator.
3. Connect remaining cables as shown in Figures 2a, 2b, and 2c.
