ADAPTER, RASA 8 #93405
CANON MIRRORLESS CAMERA ADAPTER, RASA 8 #93406
USING THE REMOVAL TOOL
1. Insert the removal tool through the hole in the camera
adapter which is above the camera’s lens release button. Orient the tip of the tool as shown below.
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
The camera adapter connects your mirrorless camera to the RASA 8. It requires the retaining ring, which comes with the astrograph.
1. Place the retaining ring over the camera adapter.
2. Thread the retaining ring clockwise onto the lens
group cell at the front of the RASA 8. Tighten the retaining ring until the camera adapter is snug against the cell, but do not overtighten the ring.
3. To connect the camera body to the camera
adapter, fi rst line up the dot on the camera’s bayonet mount with the white dot on the adapter. Push the camera onto the adapter and rotate the camera clockwise. When connected, the camera will click into place.
Once the camera is installed, you can adjust its orientation by slightly loosening the retaining ring. Loosen the ring no more than 1/8th turn, rotate the camera as desired, and retighten the ring.
CAUTION: Overtightening the retaining ring can cause the lens group cell to rotate relative to the Schmidt corrector, which may affect optical alignment. Keep the camera adapter snug against the lens cell, but do not overtighten the ring.
TO REMOVE YOUR CAMERA
1. Hold the camera and completely unthread the
retaining ring from the RASA 8 lens group cell.
2. Press and hold the camera’s lens release button.
3. Rotate the camera adapter counter-clockwise.
Since there is not much room between the camera adapter and the camera body, you may not be able to press the camera’s lens release button with your fi ngers. In this case, use the supplied removal tool.
2. FOR SONY CAMERAS: Use the tip of the tool
to depress the camera’s lens release button, then rotate the adapter counter-clockwise.
3. FOR CANON CAMERAS: Position the tip of
the tool between the camera adapter and camera so it is seated onto the camera’s lens release button. When properly seated, the button should be depressed without having to hold the tool with your fi ngers. Rotate the camera adapter counterclockwise.
