Important Notes 1.0
Work area safety a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create
sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control. Electrical safety a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is grounded. c) Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tools or pull the plug from an outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts. Replace damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) Extension cords must be rated for intended use. Always fully unwind all cables before operating any equipment. Wound cables can build
heat and be very dangerous. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, and hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions and will reduce personal injures.
c) Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove adjusting key or wrench before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a moving part of the tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes,
jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of

Important Notes 1.0
Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
NOTE
~ Always check the tool and all cables and connections are undamaged, clean and dry before plugging in. ~ Always use an RCD or suitable circuit breaker when using power tools. ~ Use the machine only for dry sanding. Penetration of water into the machine increases the risk of an electric shock. ~ Keep hands away from the cutting range. Do not reach under the workpiece. Contact with the accessories can lead to injuries. ~ Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with
electric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage or may cause an electric shock.
~ When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a secure stance. The power tool is guided more securely with both hands.
~ Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more securely than by hand. ~ Keep your workplace clean. Blends of materials are particularly dangerous. Dust from light alloys can burn or explode. ~ Wear protective gloves when changing application tools/accessories. Application tools/accessories become hot after prolonged usage. ~ Do not scrape wetted materials (e. g. wall-paper) or on moist surfaces. Penetration of water into the machine increases the risk of an electric
shock. ~ Do not treat the surface to be worked with solvent-containing fluids. Materials being warmed up by the friction can cause toxic vapours to
develop. ~ Exercise extreme caution when handling the scraper. The accessory is very sharp; danger of injury. ~ Never cut in an area you cannot clearly see. Hidden objects can cause harm or be damaged.
Key risks with oscillating tools:
~ Vibration over long periods can lead to RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) and a condition known as HAVS (Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome) or White Finger. To avoid injury take regular breaks and never operate the tool continuously for more than 20 minutes. Do not use this tool if you have a history of medical problems that relate to this type of injury or if you are unwell or have any discomfort.
~ Heat buildup on accessories. A rotating blade will clear swarf and saw dust from the cut, the oscillating action of this tool DOES NOT clear the debris. Constant friction on one spot can cause extreme heat and even fire. Do not touch a blade until it has cooled, reduce heat from friction and build up of debris by moving the accessory constantly to clear debris and dissipate heat.
~ Don’t use excessive pressure, cutting blades work better at their own pace, sawing, sanding and grinding tools will clog if pressed too hard. The risk of slipping and causing harm is reduced when using a controlled, even pressure. Keep grinding and sanding pads clear of debris buildup with a wire brush.
Always wear equipment to protect vision, hearing and respiratory system.
Wear suitable clothing and footwear. Long periods of use can be harmful, take regular breaks.

If required, remove an already mounted tool/accessory. Loosen the screw with the hex key and remove the tool/accessory. Be sure to clear any debris. Mount a suitable tool/accessory in such a manner on the tool holder that the offset faces downward. Turn the tool/accessory to a position favourable for the respective job, and allow it to engage into the cams of the tool holder. 12 different positions are possible, each offset by 30°. Fasten the tool/accessory with Locking Bolt and Washer. Tighten the bolt with Hex key until the washer and bolt are flush with the tool/accessory and firmly fixed.
The sanding plates are fitted with Velcro backing for quick and easy fastening of sanding sheets with Velcro adhesion. Before attaching the sanding sheet , free the Velcro backing of the sanding plate from any debris by tapping to enable optimum adhesion. Position the sanding sheet flush alongside one edge of the sanding plate, then lay the sanding sheet onto the sanding plate and press firmly. To remove the sanding sheet, grasp it at one of the tips and pull it off from the sanding plate.
Sharp blades, heat buildup and flying debris are a danger to user and bystanders. Use of suitable protective clothing, gloves, footwear, eye and ear protection as well as safe working practices can reduce these risks.
Dusts from materials such as leadcontaining coatings, some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to one's health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treatment additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
- Use dust extraction whenever possible.
- Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
- It is recommended to wear a P2 filter class respirator. Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the materials to be worked
Do not cover the venting slots of the machine while working, as this reduces the working life of the machine.
This tool vibrates at very high frequency. Regular breaks must be taken to reduce the chance of injury. At the first sign of discomfort work should immediately cease.
NOTE: The AC17 adaptor washer is not required to fit CEL blades on CEL tools.
Check the tight seating of the tool/accessory while fitting and regularly while working there is a risk they can come loose during operation and be damaged or hazardous .
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, push the On/Off switch forward so that "ON" is indicated on the switch. To switch off the machine, push the On/Off switch toward the rear so that the "OFF" is indicated on the switch. Selecting the rate of oscillation Use the thumbwheel to select the rate of oscillation. The required rate of oscillation depends on the material and the working conditions and can be determined through practical testing.
Sawing
~ Use undamaged faultless saw blades only. Deformed, blunt saw blades or saw blades that are otherwise damaged can break or shatter. ~ Continuously move the blade to clear debris and dissipate heat. Beware of hot blades. ~ Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials, such as wood, gypsum plaster boards, etc. ~ Before sawing with AC12 saw blades in wood, particle board, building materials, etc., check these for foreign objects such as nails, screws, or similar. If required, remove foreign objects or use AC11 saw blades.
Separating
Note: When separating wall tiles take into
consideration that the application tools/accessories
wear heavily when used for longer periods of time.
Sanding
The removal rate and the sanding pattern are
primarily determined by the choice of sanding
sheet, the preset oscillation rate and the applied
pressure, the corners of the sheet have the
longest oscillating travel and so will perform the
most vigorously.
Flawless sanding sheets achieve the
best sanding capacity and extend the service life of the machine.
Try to apply uniform sanding pressure;
this increases the working life of the sanding
sheets. Low/medium speed is recommended.
Additional pressure does not lead to an
increased sanding capacity, only increased
wear of the machine and the sanding sheet. For precise on-the-spot sanding of edges, corners and hard to reach areas, it is also
possible to work only with the tip or an edge of the sanding plate.
When selectively sanding on the spot, the
sanding sheet can heat up considerably. Reduce
the oscillation rate and allow the sanding sheet to cool down regularly. A sanding sheet that has been used for metal
should not be used for other materials.
Use only original CEL sanding accessories.
Scraping
For scraping, select a high oscillation rate. Work
on a soft surface (e.g. wood) at a flat angle, and
apply only light pressure. Otherwise the scraper can cut into the surface. Do not press to hard,
allow the tool to work and reduce the risk of a slip.
Operating 6.0
Sharp blades, heat buildup and flying debris are a danger to user and bystanders. Use of suitable protective clothing, gloves, footwear, eye and ear protection as well as safe working practices can reduce these risks.

Tips 7.0
Constant friction on one spot can cause extreme heat and even fire.
Reduce heat from friction and build up of debris by moving the accessory constantly to clear debris and dissipate heat.
Don’t use excessive pressure, cutting blades will work better at their own pace. Sawing, sanding and grinding tools will clog if pressed too hard.
A rotating blade will clear swarf and saw dust from the cut, the oscillating action of this tool does not clear the debris. When performing a plunge cut where debris cannot escape, eg a deep cut to fit a lock. Stop cutting regularly and use a brush or vacuum to clear the debris from the cut. Allowing debris to build up will hinder the cutting action.
Grip the tool firmly, the oscillations can be absorbed by your arm and wrist reducing the effective cut. Ensure the workpiece is also securely gripped.
Use the Triangular Carbide Rasp (AC04) to smooth out messy concrete in corners when fitting stud work.
Try the Carbide Grit Semicircle Saw (AC01) to grind away grout between tiles, you wont find a faster method. By skewing the blade in the gap between the tiles slightly you can make a wider groove, so you can clear the gap in one pass. Remember to take a wire brush to regularly clear the build up of debris from the grit.
Moving the tool as shown in this image will, combined with a light pressure, will give a cleaner, more controllable cut in less time.
Maintenance, Storage and Environment
WARNING, Switch off and unplug the power supply before carrying out any maintenance on the tool.
General inspection
Regularly check that all the fixing screws are present and tight. They may vibrate loose over time.
Dust
Keep the tool's air vents unclogged and clean at all times. Remove dust and dirt regularly. Cleaning is best done with compressed air or a rag. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
Replacing the fuse
Country specific models may use a fuse suitable for the specific requirements of that region. The plug shows the type of fuse required, open and replace only after removing from any live electrical outlet. Replace with the same fuse as fitted or with a lower Amp (A) rating.
CAUTION, Do not use cleaning agents to clean the plastic parts of the tool. A mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended. Water must never come into contact with the tool.
Storage
Store the tool, instruction manual and accessories in a secure, dry place. In this way you will always have all the information and parts ready to hand.
Environment
When the time comes to dispose of this product please consider the environment and take it to a recognised recycling facility instead of disposing with general household waste.
