Operating Instructions

Model TM21-S Hour–Minute Digital Timer

NOTE: In the following instructions, names of the control keys are shown in caps.
Function information that appears on the display is shown in bold caps.

To Install Battery:

1. Remove battery door in back by sliding down in direction of arrow.

2. Install 1.5V AAA battery observing polarity shown in compartment.

3. The display will show all segments and a “beep” will sound.

4. Replace battery door.

To Count Down:

1. Press HR and/or MIN keys until the desired time has been entered up to 19
hours, 59 minutes.

2. Press START/STOP to begin the count down. The “:” will flash indicating that
the count down is in progress.

3. The count down may be interrupted by pressing START/STOP. The “:” will
remain steady. To resume the count press STOP/START again.

4. To clear the count before reaching zero, stop the count by pressing
START/STOP. Then, press and hold the START/STOP key for 2 seconds to
set the display to 00:00.

5. When the count reaches zero the H and M display will flash, and the alarm
sequence will start: 15 seconds of alarm, 45 seconds silenced. This sequence
will repeat for a total of five minutes.

6. If the START/STOP key is pressed while the alarm sequence is on, the
sequence will stop and the last time counted will appear on the display.

7. If the alarm is not stopped, at the end of the five minute sequence the alarm
sequence will end, the H and M display will remain steady, and the last time
counted will appear on the display. This Auto Recall feature is especially handy
when doing repetitive counting since the time will not have to be reentered. To
recount the time, press START/STOP.

To Count Up:

1. Set the display to zero as described in step #4, above.

2. Press START/STOP. The H and M display will disappear, and the TM21-S will
count up by seconds to 19 minutes, 59 seconds.

3. To interrupt the count, press START/STOP. To resume the count press

START/STOP again.
