Butcher Block Cart with Removable Cutting Board

STEP 1
The “L” brackets are attached to the Glide Support using the large slot in the “L” bracket.
Glide Support Assembly
Decide at this point if you want the handle/towel bar on the right or the left side of the cabinet as side panels are interchangeable. At this point the metal glides will determine left side/right side once installed.
The Hole will be used to attach the table top.

Note: Glide holes in the metal glides sometimes change, just make sure the cabinet glides are
ush with the back of the glide supports & pilot
holes will line up - only 2 holes are used!
The glides look almost alike; however, they are stamped CR for cabinet right and CL for cabinet left.

STEP 2
A. Attach the cutting board rails with
two 1” at head #8 screws.

STEP 3
A. Lay back panel at on a smooth surface with holes up.
B. Attach side panels with 1 3/4” bolts and hex nuts. After inserting bolt(s) through the holes in the side panels and through the holes in the long edges of the back panel, place a hex nut on the tip of
your nger, align nut with bolt and tighten.

STEP 4
A. Insert and tap caster sockets with hammer until the teeth grab the wood. DON’T POUND SOCKET FLAT OR CASTER SHAFT WILL NOT ENTER.
B. Insert casters and seat by pushing straight downward with heel of your hand, or tap into place with a hammer. Don’t be afraid to give them a good downward whack on the solid metal part of the caster!
C. Locking wheels usually go on front but can go diagonally or on the back if cart is moved a lot.

STEP 5
A. Attach the drawer back to the drawer sides with four 1 1/4” #8 screws. Make sure parts are aligned as in illustration 5A.
B. Insert drawer bottom into the slots in the drawer sides, best side to inside of drawer. Slide down until seated in the slot in the drawer back. See illustration 5B.
C. Screw the cam posts into the two outside holes on the inside face of the drawer front until seated. Only
3/8” of the post goes into the wood, leaving the 4
larger guide rings/head exposed. See illustration 5C. View our cam video at www.catskillcraftsmen.com.
D. Insert the posts into holes in the drawer sides until seated against the front end of the drawer sides.
Insert cams so that slot in the cam ts over the post
and turn with Phillips screwdriver until seated. Don’t over-torque! See illustration 5D.
E. Attach drawer handle with the two 7/8” Truss head screws (no illustration).

STEP 6

Take the 2 front braces and tap/insert one 3/4” steel pin into each of both braces until seated. About 3/8” will stick out when seated. OK if loose.

STEP 7
A. Tap/insert one 1 1/2” pin into each end of both doors. DON’T OVERDRIVE PINS! Pins should stick up about 1/2” when seated. O.K. if loose.
B. Attach the door spacer
to the left door with 5/8” #8
screws. The spacer has a space at the top to allow magnet clearance and is almost ush with the bottom of the door.
C. Attach the magnet plate (may be stuck to the magnet!)
with the small at head screw
to the top of the right door. Bumps toward wood.

two 7/8” truss head bolts.

STEP 8
Install Doors/Bottom Front Brace
A. Take the Top Front Brace, insert the pins in the brace ends into the slots on the inside of the front legs of the Side Panel and slide down until the brace is aligned with the set of holes in the Side Panel as illustrated.
B. Secure brace with 1 3/4” bolts and hex nuts.
C. Install doors by inserting pins in the door tops into the holes in the top front brace.
D. Place one washer on each of the door pins in the door bottoms.
E. Take the bottom front brace, align pins in door bottoms with holes along top edge of brace (are washers on pins??) and secure brace with 1 3/4” bolts/hex nuts as before. Bottom brace should be
ush with bottom of legs.

STEP 9
Assemble Spice Rack
Pilot holes in shelves

Fasten Shelves with 1 1/4” Phillips Flat Head #8 Screw (Bronze)

A. Stick magnet to magnet plate on an outside door. B. With adjacent door open, close the outside door. The magnet should be positioned over the
wooden block on the bottom of the top front brace. Hold the magnet in place with your thumb, and open the door. The magnet will be in the correct position on the block. Mark the position with a pencil.
C. Secure magnet with the two round head screws in the magnet packet. Center screws in the slot in the magnet . This will allow adjustment later, if needed.

STEP 11
Attach Tabletop
A. Attach tabletop by inserting the
tips of the 5/8” #7 screws into the
pilot holes through “L” bracket hole
in the unit top and nger tighten.
When all 4 screws are properly aligned, tighten down.
Note: you may nd it helpful to
make an X over the pilot holes in the underside of the tabletop. This will be hidden but will help to align the “L” bracket to the pilot holes.

STEP 12
Attach Spice Rack and towel bar to Side Panels
A. Attach the spice rack
to either side using 1” #8
screws into pilot holes in top shelf. Place washer
over screws rst.
B. Attach the towel bar to the other panel
with 1” #8 screws and
washers from inside cabinet.

STEP 13
Install Drawer / Cutting Board
A. Upright unit and insert drawer. If drawer front hits the top front brace, tap brace down.
B. Insert the cutting board by sliding it above the drawer and over the cutting board rails.
STEP 14
A. Open doors and tap 1” pins into the side panels to hold the shelves. The middle shelf has two positions from which to choose.
B. Insert the bottom shelf by placing the back of shelf on back set of pins. Close the door and the shelf will drop into place.
C. Place the middle shelf, edge banding out, on the pins.
