READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ASSEMBLY OR WARRANTY IS VOID
CAUTION
● Prior to assembly and installing the cargo carrier carefully read and follow all instructions printed below. Assembly and installation is your
responsibility. The manufacturer’s warranty is exclusively limited to material and workmanship defects and is exclusively limited to replacement
of a defective cargo carrier. Any damage to your vehicle, its contents, or to any person or property is excluded from the warranty.
● Due to the size and structural differences between vehicles, we rely upon your discretion in attaching the cargo carrier to your roof rack cross rails.
● Consult your owner’s manual for recommended roof rack load capacity, however in no case should more than 110 lbs. of evenly distributed cargo
be transported in the cargo carrier.
● All hardware should be properly attached, tightened and locked prior to all use. Periodically inspect hardware to ensure they are fastened securely.
● The cargo carrier is moisture resistant, not waterproof. Protect the contents accordingly.
● Remove the cargo carrier when not in use and before entering automatic car washes and low clearance areas.
● All latches and locks must be engaged (and key removed) prior to putting vehicle in motion. When locking the cargo carrier, check to make sure
lock is fully engaged by attempting to lift top.
● High speed travel with an empty or lightly loaded cargo carrier should be avoided. In these conditions make certain the cargo carrier is properly
secured and attached.
● Install CAUTION Low Clearance reminder static cling decal on rear view mirror when using cargo carrier.
On the back of the lid, locate key and turn it to
be parallel with the ground to “unlock” and then
remove the key (key will be needed in step #8).

Place the base on the ground. Remove
all FOUR clip hooks (F) located on cargo
carrier. You will reinstall them on the
cargo carrier in steps #2, #3 & #7.
When lid is aligned, all 3 hinge tabs will slide
down into the slots as shown above.

Place the lid onto the base at approximately a
30° angle. Move top lid in an up and down motion
until THREE hinge tabs engage with slots.

Engage the bale latch on the front of the cargo
carrier. This bale latch stays in the closed position
going forward. Then secure with clip hook.

Close the cargo carrier. Pull up on the lid in the
front of the cargo carrier to be sure hinge tabs
are engaged.
Carefully place the assembled cargo carrier
on the top of roof rack cross rails and center
on vehicle. Check for clearance of rear hatch
and antennas.

Be sure to align the mounting holes in the box
bottom on each side of the cross rails.

*Cross rails on some vehicles are not adjustable and may require additional holes drilled into the bottom of the cargo carrier to match
the fixed position width. If this is the case, attach the cargo carrier to the rear cross rails first, using the pre-drilled holes. Then drill holes
in the front of the cargo carrier using the mounting back plate (C) as a template for the hole positions.

Raise the TWO uprights and place into locked
position on the bracket as shown.

Lift the back of the cargo carrier lid to
approximately 30° as shown above.
Then slide the mounting plate (C) over the
threaded posts inside the cargo carrier.

Place the mounting bracket (A) through the
pre-drilled holes from below the vehicle
cross rails as shown above.
Thread two knobs (B) evenly and loosely – do not tighten all the way at this
point. Repeat steps until all 4 mounting brackets (A), all 4 mounting plates
(C) are in place and the 8 knobs (B) are loosely in place. Make sure cargo
carrier is centered on vehicle. Then tighten all 8 knobs evenly and securely.

Load cargo carrier with travel gear paying careful
attention to proportionately distribute weight
and not to exceed the maximum allowed weight
of either the box or cross rails.

Close cargo carrier. Be sure that BOTH side
alignment brackets are NOT visible. Close
the bale latches on each side of cargo carrier,
and insert clip hooks to secure.

Check clearance area

If the side wall is not properly seated, squeeze
together with your hand, and it will snap in place
as shown above. Side alignment brackets will be
visible if not seated correctly. See picture below.

Secure both side bale latches. Begin by
confirming the box side wall is properly seated.
If properly seated, side alignment brackets will
NOT be visible.

Then latch BOTH side bale latches and insert lanyard
snap clip hooks on each side to secure.

Once key is removed, verify that the lock
is properly engaged by trying to lift the
lid from the base.

Place key in lock and turn to vertical position
as shown. Then remove key to prevent lock
from allowing box to open.
Be sure cargo carrier is fully closed. When this
occurs, the yellow warning label will no longer
be visible.

CAUTION
Check that all THREE bale latches are closed and secured with THREE
clip hooks. Be sure a FOURTH clip hook is placed on center hinge
tab on the inside front of cargo carrier. Lid will not lift up when
pulled. Side alignment brackets must NOT be visible. All locking
devices must be engaged (and keys removed) whenever the vehicle
is in motion.

Distance & Mark on Carrier
We recommend taking the top o the carrier,
then measure from the center of the front hole
to the back area and mark the new mounting
hole location.
Use Mounting Plate & Mark
Use mounting plate as template to mark the
second hole. Be sure to stay parallel with the
existing holes.
Drill New Holes
Use a 5/16” drill and drill the new holes in back
of the carrier. Material won’t chip or crack. You
will not be using the existing set of back holes.
Repeat on Other Side
And now you are ready to install
your Car Top Cargo Carrier!

Stationary Mounting Hole Instructions for 18 Cu Ft Carrier
When cross rails are stationary or in a xed
position and not 22” on center,
measure the distance between the
front and back cross rails from center
to center of roof rails.
