TOP PANEL FEATURES
1. Left Link Output: This balanced output is connected in parallel with the left input. When a signal is connected to the left input this output can be used to link to another system. NOTE: This output is only balanced only, when a balanced signal is connected to the input. Should an unbalanced signal be connected then the output will also be unbalanced.
2. Left XLR/Jack Input: This input ‘combi’ socket is suitable for the connection of line level high or low impedance, balanced or unbalanced, Male XLR or 1/4” Jack. Always use good quality screened audio cables to connect your Slammer II. The use of balanced operation reduces noise and hum. The wiring convention is as follows: Balanced XLR Pin 1 = Screen (Ground) Pin 2 = In Phase (Hot) Pin 3 = Anti-Phase (Cold) Unbalanced XLR Pin 1 = Screen (Ground) Pin 2 = Signal (Hot) Pin 3 = Link to Pin 1 Balanced Jack Sleeve = Screen (Ground) Ring = Anti-Phase (Cold) Tip = In Phase (Hot) Unbalanced Jack Sleeve = Screen (Ground) Tip = Signal
3. Phono Inputs: These 2 connections are designed to take a stereo line level signal from a cd player, Laptop PC, MP3 player etc. The Red connection is the right channel input and the white connection is for the left channel. The wiring convention is as follows: Ring = Screen (Ground) Pin = Signal
4. Right XLR/Jack Inputs: This is identical to the left ‘combi’ socket input, but for the right channel.
5. Right Link Output: This is identical to the left link output, but for the right channel.
6. Left Level: This controls the output level (volume) for the left Satellite speaker output. For maximum output turn this control clockwise until the ‘Limit’ LED intermittently illuminates. The limit warning should illuminate only on the peaks of the signal, not continuously.
7. Left Limit LED: This LED illuminates to indicate that the input signal to the amplifier is at its maximum allowable level and the signal is being limited to reduce distortion.
8.120Hz Low Cut: This switch activates a 120Hz active high pass filter that removes all low bass signals from both left and right Satellite speaker outputs.
9. Right Level: This is identical to the left level control, but for the right channel.
10. Right Limit LED: This is identical to the left Limit LED, but for the right channel.
11. Subwoofer Level: This control sets the output level for the internal subwoofer. For maximum output turn this control clockwise until the limit LED intermittently illuminates.
12. Subwoofer Limit LED: This light shows when the input signal to the subwoofer is at its maximum allowable level and the signal is being limited to reduce the audible distortion.
13. Phase Invert: This switch changes the subwoofer phase by 180 degrees relative to the satellite cabinets. Depending on venue and cabinet position you may get a more coherent sound with the switch in or out. Try this during set up to get the best result.
14. Cross-Over Frequency: This sets the uppermost frequencies that will be amplified through the subwoofer. At its minimum level only the lowest of bass notes will be amplified (80Hz and below), and at maximum (fully clockwise) the subwoofer will amplify from very low bass to low mid frequencies (220Hz and below).
REAR PANEL FEATURES
1. Left Speaker Output: This 2 pole ‘Speakon’ socket is for the connection of the one satellite speaker. NOTE: Speaker must be rated at a minimum of 150W rms (continuous) power and be no lower in impedance than 4Ω).
2. Right Speaker Output: This is identical to the left output, but for the right audio channel
3. Mains Switch: When this switch is set to ‘1’ the switch will illuminate and the Slammer II will be active. When this switch is set to ‘0’ the light will turn off and the internal electronics will be isolated from the mains electricity supply.
4. IEC Input Socket: Connect the supplied IEC mains lead here. Should the mains fuse need replacing, it is located below the mains input. Always replace the fuse with type and rating printed on the rear panel of your Slammer II. If the replacement fuse blows immediately then contact your local service agent. DO NOT fit a higher rated fuse.
NOTE: ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE UNIT FROM THE MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE CHANGING THE FUSE.
