The subwoofer and satellite speakers can be located on a desk or
shelf, or the subwoofer can be placed on the floor (even under a
desk or keyboard). The satellite speakers can be wall mounted
using the 'keyhole' mounting plate on the rear of the cabinet.
Note ; ensure the mounting point is secure, and of adequate strength
to support the speaker.
The satellite speakers can be positioned as desired, but stereo
image will be improved if they are a few feet apart, and on the same
level.
To connect the satellite speakers to the subwoofer, use to speaker
wire included and connect the speaker to the left (as you look at it)
to the left speaker outputs on the Subwoofer, making sure that the
wire connected to the red terminal is connected to the red terminal
on the satellite speaker, Now connect the other wire in the same
cable to the black connectors on both units. Now repeat this
procedure for the right channel.

1. Power LED: This blue LED illuminates when the unit is supplied
with the correct mains voltage and switched on. When switched
off, the LED will slowly extinguish.
2. Volume: This control sets the overall output level of the Black Box.
3. Treble: This is used to control the level of treble or high frequency
sound. When the control is centered there is no effect on the
sound. Turning the control to the left reduces the amount of treble,
and turning the control to the right will increase it.
4. Bass: This works the same as the Treble control but affects the
Bass or low frequencies.
5. Balance: This control sets the output levels to the two satellite
speakers, when the control is turned to the right, the right signal
will be amplified more than the left, until the left speaker is silent.
Turning to the left has the opposite effect.
SIDE PANEL FEATURES:
6. MIC2: This is an unbalanced high impedance ¼"
jack input suitable for microphones. Use a good
6
quality shielded signal cable to connect a microphone
to this input.
7. MIC1: See MIC 2 (1).
8. MIC-VOL: This level control sets how loud the
signal from both microphone inputs is in relation to
the overall output volume. Turning the control to the
right increase the level and vice versa.
9. ECHO: This control adds a small echo to the
microphone input to add the effect of being in a
large room. When the control is turned all the way
to the left the echo is turned off, as you turn it to the
right the amount of echo added to the overall sound
is increased.

10. Phono Input: This stereo input can be connected to a wide
range of audio equipment using phono connectors, which are
widely used in consumer audio, such as Hi Fi systems, DVD
players and games systems. The red socket is for the right
channel and the white socket is for the left channel.
11. Mini Jack (3.5mm) Input: This stereo input allows easy
connection to equipment using 3.5mm jacks, such as MP3
players, personal CD players and laptop computers.
12. Left Jack (1/4") Input: This mono input is provided for connection
to professional audio equipment such as keyboards and mixing
desk line outs. Use this socket only if you want to connect a
mono signal to your system.
13. Right Jack (1/4") Input: When this connection is used the unit
changes from mono operation to stereo when used in
conjunction with the left jack input (3)
14. Mains Switch: This turns the AC mains power to the unit on or off.
NOTE: The unit is not isolated from the mains supply until the
power cord is removed.
15. IEC Input Socket: Connect the supplied IEC mains lead here.
16. Fuse Holder: Should the mains fuse need replacing, remove the
AC power lead from the supply, unscrew the fuse holder and
remove the fuse. Always replace the fuse with the same type
and rating printed on the rear panel of your amp. If the
replacement fuse blows immediately then contact your local
service agent. DO NOT fit a higher rated fuse.
