IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using an electrical appliance, basic safety should always be followed, including the following: Read all instructions before using this sewing machine.

1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.

2. Always unplug this appliance from the electric outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.

Never operate the appliance with any air openings blocked

Always use the proper needle plate, as using the wrong needle plate may cause the needle to break.

Switch the sewing machine off ("O") when making any adjustments in the needle area, such as threading needle, changing needle, threading bobbin, changing presser foot or changing the light.

Please turn off or unplug the machine if it is not operating properly.

This sewing machine is intended for household use only.

1. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children.

2. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Use only the attachments recommended by the manufacturer as contained in this manual.

3. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized dealer or service center for examination, repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment.

4. . Keep ventilation openings of the sewing machine and foot controller free from accumulation of lint, dust, and loose cloth.

5. Keep fingers away from all moving parts. Special care is required around the sewing machine needle.

7. Do not use bent needles.

8. Do not pull or push fabric while stitching. It may deflect the needle causing it to break.

10. Always unplug sewing machine from the electrical outlet when removing covers, lubricating, or when making any other user servicing adjustments mentioned in the instruction manual.

11. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.

12. Do not use outdoors.

13. Do not operate where aerosol spray products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

14. To disconnect, turn all controls to the off ("O") position, then remove plug from outlet.

15. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

16. The sound pressure level under normal operating conditions is 75dB(A).

19. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Press this button to start or stop the machine.

Hold down this button to sew stitches in reverse or sew reinforcement stitches at a low speed.

Hold down this button to sew locking stitches immediately or at the end of the current patterns and automatically stop.

Press this button to move the needle to either up or down position. Needle will be programmed to stop in selected position until button is pressed again.

Connecting the machine

Before connecting the power supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency shown on the machine is conforming with your electrical power.

Place machine on a stable surface.

1. Connect the power line cord to the machine by inserting the 2-hole plug into the power cord socket.

2. Connect the power line plug to the electric outlet.

3. Turn on the power switch.

4. The sewing lamp will light up when the switch is turned on.

To disconnect, turn the power switch to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.

Caution: Always make sure that the machine is unplugged from power source and the main switch is on "O" when the machine is not in use and before inserting or removing parts.

Polarized plug information

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other), to reduce the risk of electrical shock; this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

WINDING THE BOBBIN

Place the thread and spool holder onto the spool pin. For larger spools of thread, place the large side of the spool holder toward the spool. For smaller spools of thread, place the small side of the spool holder toward the spool, or use the small spool holder. If the thread spool has a thread retaining slit, place this end of the spool toward the right, so the thread doesn't get caught while winding the bobbin.

Snap the thread into the thread guide.

Place the thread end through one of the inner holes in the bobbin as illustrated and place empty bobbin on the spindle.

Push the bobbin to right.

Wind the thread counter-clockwise around the bobbin winder tension disks.

WINDING THE BOBBIN

Please Note: When the bobbin winder switch is placed on the right, "bobbin winding position", the machine will not sew and the handwheel will not turn. To start sewing, push the bobbin winder switch to the left "sewing position".

Hold the thread tail securely in one hand.

Press the Start/stop button or the foot control.

After the bobbin has wound a few turns stop the machine and cut the thread near the hole of the bobbin. Continue winding the bobbin until it is full. The motor stops automatically when the bobbin is full. Stop the machine. Push the bobbin winder spindle to left.

Cut the thread and then remove the bobbin.

When the bobbin winder spindle is pushed to the right, which is the "bobbin winding position", the symbol ""appearsontheLCDscreen.

The symbol will disappear from the LCD screen when the bobbin winder spindle is pushed to the left, which is the "sewing position".

INSERTING THE BOBBIN

The presser foot lifter raises and lowers the presser foot.

When sewing several layers or thick fabrics, the presser foot can be raised a second stage for easy positioning of the work.

STARTING SEWING

With the sewing machine turned off, insert the foot control plug into its connector on the sewing machine.

The speed limiting adjustment lever can control the sewing speed. T o increase the sewing speed, slide the lever to the right, To decrease the sewing speed, slide the lever to the left.

Please Note: The setting of the speed limiting adjustment lever will limit the maximum speed of the machine.

- Basic thread tension setting is "4". To increase the tension, turn the dial to the next number up. To decrease the tension, turn the dial to the next number down.

- Proper setting of tension is important for good sewing. There is no single tension setting appropriate for all the stitch functions and fabrics. However, 90% of all sewing will be between the "3" and "5" ("4" is the basic setting).

- For decorative sewing you will always obtain a nicer stitch and less fabric puckering when the upper thread appears on the bottom side of your fabric.

Change the needle regularly, especially if it is showing signs of wear and causing problems.

With the Needle up/ down position button, you decide whether the needle shall stop in the up position or in the material when you stop sewing.

When you press the button so that the arrow (which displays just to the right of the needle icon on the LCD screen) will point upward, the needle will stop in the highest position.

When you press the button so that the arrow (which displays just to the right of the needle icon on the LCD screen) points downward, the machine will stop with the needle in the lowest position.

When Direct Patterns 1-4, and A Group Pattern 00 are selected, the machine will immediately sew 3 locking stitches when the Auto-lock button is pressed, then automatically stop.

Installing the extension table

The black button on the left side of the all purpose presser foot will lock the presser foot in a horizontal position if you push it in before lowering the presser foot. This ensures even feeding at the beginning of a seam and helps when sewing multiple layers of fabric such as sewing over seams when hemming jeans.

When you reach the point of an increased thickness, lower the needle and raise the presser foot. Press the toe of the foot and push in the black button, then lower the foot and continue sewing.

The black button releases automatically after sewing few stitches.

Single cording

Sew over one, two or three strands of cord to embellish fabrics. Pearl cotton, embroidery floss or fine wool yarn can be used for cording.

Triple cording

Push the sewing thread to the left and insert three cords into the grooves of the foot and pull about 5cm (2 inches) of the cords behind the foot. Select the desired pattern and adjust the stitch width so that the stitches are just covering the cords. Lower the foot and sew slowly guiding the cords.

The stitch length dial can also be used to adjust fullness. The longer the stitch length setting is, the more fullness that is achieved in the gathers.

Look closely at the gathering foot to see a slot on the bottom.

When using the slot, you can gather the bottom layer of the fabric while attaching it to a flat top layer, such as the waistband on a dress bodice.

Darning

Free motion darning is accomplished without the sewing machine internal feed system. Movement of the fabric is controlled by the operator. It is necessary to coordinate sewing speed and movement of fabric.

Please Note: Always try to sew first without the walking foot accessory which should be used only when necessary.

It is easier to guide the fabric and you have a better view of the seam when using the standard, regular foot on your machine. Your sewing machine offers excellent stitch quality on a wide range of fabrics from delicate chiffons to multiple layers of denim.

The Walking foot attachment equalizes the feeding of the fabric layers. It improves the matching of plaids, stripes and patterns. It also helps to prevent uneven feeding of difficult or napped fabrics, such as velvet or corduroy.

1 Lift the presser foot lifter to raise the

presser foot bar.

2Remove the presser foot holder by

unscrewing (counterclockwise) the presser bar attaching screw.

3 Attach the Walking foot to the machine as

follows:

- The arm (a) should fit into above the needle screw and clamp (b).

- Slide the attaching head (c) from left to right, so that it is fitted onto the presser foot bar.

- Lower the presser foot bar.

-Replace and tighten (clockwise) the presser bar attaching screw.

- Make sure both the needle screw and the presser bar attaching screw are tightly secured.

4 Draw the bobbin thread up and place both

the bobbin thread and the needle thread behind the walking foot attachment.

The animation message means that the thread is twisted or jammed and the hand wheel axle cannot move. Please look through the "Trouble shooting guide" on page 71 or 72 to find the solution. After the problem has been solved, the machine will continue to sew.

If the bobbin winder shaft is positioned to the right (engaged) and any button is pressed a 3beep warning will be sounded. Move bobbin winder shaft to the left (disengaged) to allow the buttons to be operational.

Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise

Beim Gebrauch eines elektrischen Geräts sind folgende grundsätzliche Sicherheitsmassnahmen unbedingt zu beachten: Lesen Sie vor Gebrauch dieses Nähcomputers die Bedienungslanleitung durch.

1. Nähcomputer nie unbeaufsichtigt stehen lassen, wenn er noch am Stromnetz angeschlossen ist.

2. Nach Gebrauch und vor dem Reinigen den Nähcomputer immer vom Stromnetz trennen.

1. Verhindern, dass der Nähcomputer als Spielzeug verwendet wird. Erhöhte Achtsamkeit ist geboten, wenn der Nähcomputer von Kindern oder in der Nähe von Kindern benutzt wird.

2. Dieser Nähcomputer darf nur zu dem in der vorliegenden Bedienungsanleitung beschriebenen Zweck benutzt werden. Es darf nur Zubehör wie in der vorliegenden Bedienungsanleitung beschrieben und vom Hersteller empfohlen benutzt werden.

3. Den Nähcomputer nie benutzen, wenn ein Kabel oder Anschluss beschädigt ist, wenn er nicht richtig bzw. störungsfrei funktioniert, nachdem er fallengelassen oder beschädigt worden oder mit Wasser in Kontakt gekommen ist. Nähcomputer ins nächste autorisierte Fachgeschäft oder Servicestelle zur Überprüfung, Reparatur und zum Einstellen der elektrischen und/oder mechanischen Teile bringen.

4. Bei Gebrauch des Nähcomputers darauf achten, dass die Lüftungsschlitze nicht blockiert sind. Lüftungsschlitze von Fusseln, Staub und Stoffrückständen freihalten.

5. Finger von allen beweglichen Teilen fernhalten. Besondere Vorsicht ist im Bereich der Nähnadel geboten.

6. Immer eine korrekte zum Nähcomputer gehörende Stichplatte benutzen. Eine falsche Stichplatte kann zu Nadelbruch führen.

7. Keine krummen Nadeln verwenden.

8. Stoff beim Nähen weder ziehen noch stossen. Das kann die Nadel so weit biegen, dass sie bricht.

9. Nähcomputer ausschalten (Hauptschalter auf "O" stellen), wenn im Nadelbereich Tätigkeiten ausgeführt werden, zum Beispiel Einfädeln, Nadel wechseln, Greiferspule einsetzen oder Nähfuss wechseln und dergleichen.

10. Nähcomputer immer ausstecken (vom Stormnetz trennen), wenn Unterhaltsarbeiten wie in der Bedienungsanleitung beschrieben, vorgenommen werden. Zum Beispiel, wenn Abdeckungen entfernt werden, beim Ölen oder Glühbirne wechseln usw.

11. Keine Gegenstände in Öffnungen am Nähcomputer stecken oder hineinfallenlassen.

12. Nähcomputer nicht im Freien benutzen.

13. Nähcomputer nicht benutzen, wo Treibgasprodukte (Sprays) oder Sauerstoff verwendet werden.

14. Zum Ausschalten alle Schalter auf ("O") stellen und Netzstecker herausziehen.

15. Kabel am Stecker herausziehen, nicht am Kabel ziehen. Beim Ausstecken immer am Stecker ziehen, nie am Kabel.

16. Der Schalldruckpegel unter normalen Betriebsbedingungen beträgt 75dB(A).

17. Bitte schalten Sie die Nähmaschine aus oder ziehen Sie den Stecker, wenn die Nähmaschine nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert.

18. Platzieren Sie keine Gegenstände auf dem Fußanlasser.

19. Dieses Gerät ist nicht für die Verwendung von Personen (einschließlich Kindern) mit reduzierten körperlichen, sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten oder fehlender Erfahrung und Kenntnis vorgesehen, es sei denn, sie werden beim Gebrauch des Geräts von einer für ihre Sicherheit verantwortlichen Person beaufsichtigt oder angeleitet.

20. Kinder sind zu beaufsichtigen, um sicherzustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

Drücken Sie den Knopf um die Maschine ein-/ oder auszuschalten.

Den Knopf gedrückt halten, entweder um rückwärts oder Gewebemasche, Verstärkungsstich mit der

niedrigen Geschwindigkeit zu nähen.

Den Knopf gedrückt halten, um die Locking-Stiche sofort oder am Ende der momentanen Muster zu nähen und dann stoppt automatisch.

Für einen Nadelstopp oben oder unten, diese Taste drücken. Die Nadel wird in der programmierten Position stoppen, bis die Taste erneut gedrückt wird.

Diese Taste drücken um die Breite des Zickzackstiches einzustellen.

Mit dieser Taste gelangen Sie in den Direktwahlmodus, Nutz- und Dekorstichmodus, Blockbuchstabenmodus, Schreibschriftmodus und Buchstabenkonturmodus.

Diese Taste drücken um die Breite des Stiches einzustellen.

Die Taste drücken um den Abstand vom Doppelstich beim Gebrauch vom Doppelstich Festzulegen.

Die Taste drücken um einen Abspiegelungsmodell zu nähen.

Raster 28 bis 51 können sich bis auf 5fache ihrer Normallänge verlängert werden, wenn die Taste gedrückt ist.

Um ein anderes Muster hinzuzulegen beim Nähen von kombinierten dekorativen Stiche, drücken Sie dann die Taste.

Um das erzeugte Muster und oder die Muster Kombination aufzunehmen oder zu speichern, drücken Sie bitte die Taste.

Falls ein falsches Muster gewählt oder abgespeichert worden ist, kann man es mit der Taste löschen.

Schneller Zugang zu dem direkten Muster oder drücken Sie die Nummertaste des dazugehörigen Muster um ein gewünschtes Muster zu Wählen.

Der Geschwindigkeitseinstellhebel kann die Nähgeschwindigkeit regulieren.

Vor Anschluss des Nähcomputers ans Stromnetz, bitte zuerst sicherstellen, dass Spannung (Volt) und Frequenz mit Spannung und Frequenz des Stromnetzes übereinstimmen.

Nähcomputer auf stabilen Tisch stellen.

1. Stecker (2 Eingänge) des Netzanschlusskabels in die Netzanschlussbuchse am Nähcomputer stecken.

2. Netzkabelstecker am Stromnetz anschliessen.

3. Hauptschalter auf "ON" (EIN) stellen.

4. Das Nählicht beginnt zu leuchten, sobald der Nähcomputer eingeschaltet wird (auf "ON").

Zum Ausschalten Hauptschalter auf "OFF" (AUS bzw. "O") stellen und Netzstecker herausziehen.

Achtung: Immer sicherstellen, dass die Maschine vom Stromnetz getrennt und der Hauptschalter auf ("O") ist, wenn sie nicht im Gebrauch ist und bevor Sie Einzelteile einlegen oder entfernen.

Information für gepolte Netzstecker:

Diese Maschine ist mit einem gepolten Netzstecker ausgestattet, d.h. die Steckerstifte sind unterschiedlich breit. Zur Vermeidung von elektrischen Schlägen lässt sich dieser Netzstecker nur in einer Richtung in die Steckdose stecken. Wenn der Stecker nicht in die Steckdose passt, ist der Stecker zu wenden. Passt er dann immer noch nicht, wenden Sie sich an einen qualifizierten Elektriker.Auf keinen Fall den Stecker verändern.

Garnrolle und Garnrollenhalter auf den Garnrollenstift setzen. Bei grösseren Garnrollen wird der Halter mit der breiten Seite auf die Rolle gesetzt, bei kleineren Rollen mit der schmalen Seite, oder verwenden Sie den kleinen Rollenhalter. Verfügt die Garnrolle über einen Fadenhalterschlitz, wird die Rolle mit diesem Ende nach rechts platziert, damit sich der Faden während des Abwickelns nicht darin verfängt.

Faden in Fadenführung einklinken. ("Kind" neben dem Faden- bzw. Gewindeführungsdeckel1)

Faden wie illustriert in die Garnrolle einfädeln und auf der Spindel platzieren.

Führen Sie den Faden im Gegen-Uhrzeigersinn um die Fadenspannungsführung.
