In order to avoid possible re risk, all in­structions for grase-lter cleaning and for removing eventual grease deposits should be strictly followed.
WARNINGS
* The appliance is not intended for use by young children or inrm persons without supervision. Young children should be su­pervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
* The cooker surface and the inferior part of the cooker hood must be at a minimun distance of 65 cm.
If the rating lable in the cooker-hood shows the symbol , the appliance is built in class II° and it does not need any earth connection.
If the rating lable in the cooker-hood does not show the symbol , the appliance is built in class I° and it needs the earth con­nection.
* When performing the electrical connections on the appliance, please make sure that the current-tap is provided with earth connection and that voltage values correspond to those indicated on the label placed inside the ap­pliance itself.
* Before carrying out any cleaning or main­taining operations, the appliance needs to be removed from the electric grid. If the ap­pliance is not provided with a non-separable exible cable and plug, or with another de­vice ensuring omnipolar disconnections from the grid, with an opening distance between the contacts of at least 3 mm, then such di­sconnecting devices must be supplied within the xed installation.
If the xed appliance is endowed with a sup­ply cord and a plug, the appliance has to be put in a place where the plug can be reached easily.
* The use of materials which can burst into ames should be avoided in close proxi­mity of the appliance. When frying, please pay particular attention to re risk due to oil grease. Being highly inammable, fried oil is especially dangerous. Do not use un­covered electric grills.
USES
The appliance can only be used in the lte­ring version, so it is equipped with metal gre­ase lters and activated charcoal lters.
INSTALLATION
Make sure that the packaging is in perfect conditions and that none of the components inside is damaged : in case of damaged com­ponents, please contact your retailer and do not carry out installation. Read all of the following instructions before carrying out installation.
VIE551BK Installation Place the xing plate (Fig.1) into the cei­ling, in a position which coincides with the centre of your cook-top, then drill the ho­les and x the plate by using the screws and screw anchors supplied with the ap­pliance. The power cord needs to pass through the plate hole, which is shown by the arrow in Fig.1.
Remove the appliance from its packaging and place it in a suitable area, where it is not likely to be damaged.
Fix the articulated rod to the product by inserting and tightening the xing screw, as shown in Fig. 2.
Adjust the height of the appliance , ma­king sure a minimum distance of at least 65 cm is maintained between the lowest part of the hood and the cook-top; height adjustment can be done by loosening the rod xing screws , adjusting the appliance height and then by fastening them again.

Insert the xing plate cover from the rod upper part, as per Fig. 3.
Hang the appliance to the xing plate, and secure the plate by using the two screws supplied with the appliance, as shown in Fig. 4.
Make the electric connection.
Lift the xing plate cover and secure it with the screws supplied with the applian­ce, as shown in Fig. 5.

Maintenance
Correct maintenance helpts to ensure optimal performance and a long life. Special care needs to be taken with the grease filter: It should be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent the build up of grease. To access the filter, proceed as
described in the panel opening chapter. Remove the grease filter, using the special handle. To refit the grease filter after cleaning, carry out the same operation in reverse order. To remove the carbon filter, if fitted, follow the same steps as for the grease filter. The carbon filter is located immediately above the grease filter.
The charcoal filter has to be removed at first giding it inside the location and then rotating it and removing it.
Charcoal filters should be replaced at least every 6 months. More with heavy use. These can be purchased from your retailer or directly from Caple at www.caple.co.uk or call sales on 0117 938 1900
Tepid water and neutral detergents are recommended to clean the appliance, any abrasive products should not be used. Once cleaned dry
with a soft cloth.
When you switch on the appliance, press and hold this button for 5 seconds
The LED on the right side will start to flash (every 5 seconds), the hood will work for 10 minutes at the selected speed and then it switches off automatically. If the user increases or reduces the speed while the timer is on, this is automatically stopped

Generatiing a new transmiissiion code:
The radio control system is provided with preset codes. Should new codes be requi­red, proceed as follows: Press simultaneously buttons:
for two seconds. When Leds light on, press buttons:
(within 5 seconds). Leds ashing 3 times in­dicate the procedure is completed.
WARNING! This operation deletes perma­nently the preset codes.
Learniing the new transmiissiion code:
Once the transmission code is changed in the radio control unit, the electronic central unit of the cooker hood must be made to set the new code in the fol- lowing way: Press the main power-o button of the hood and then restore power to the electronic con­trol unit. Within the next 15 seconds, press the Liight Button to synchronise the cen­tral unit with the code.
Reset of the Factory coniguratiion:
To restore the Factory conguration, follow the pro- cedure described below: press si­multaneously buttons:
for 2 seconds. When Leds light on, press but­tons:

OPERATING DESCRIPTION
The transmitter is equipped with 5 buttons for cooker hood management, as specied below:
: Light ON/OFF command. : Motor ON (speed level 1) / OFF command. : Reduce speed.
: Increase speed. : 10-minute timer.
INITIAL OPERATING CONDITION
The manufacturer supplies the radio control unit ready to be used with codes preset in the Factory
OPERATION MODE
Standard conguration:
Standard conguration requires all “cooker hoods – radio control - system” to be pro­vided with the same transmission code. In the event two cooker hoods – radio control system are installed in the same room or ne­arby, each system may aect the operation of the another. Therefore, the code of one radio control system must be changed.

Emergency button: In the event that the radio control does not work, use the emergency button to switch the appliance o. After any necessary repairs have been performed, reset the emergency button.
WARNIING The battery should be replaced every year to guarantee the optimal range of the transmitter. To replace the exhausted battery, take the plastic lid o, remove the battery and replace it with a new one, observing the correct battery polarities. Used batteries should be discarded in special collection bins.

MAINTENANCE
An accurate maintenance guarantees good functioning and long-lasting performance.
A special care is due to the grease lter.
VIE551BK grease filters replacement
Remove the lower cylindrical plate as shown in Fig. 7, by pulling it downwards since it is magnetically hold. Remove the grease lters by acting on their handle.
After 30 hours of operation of the cooker­hood, the remote control will signal the lter saturation by the simultaneous lighting of led indicators; to reset, select the timer function when the cooker-hood is o . The metal grease lter can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. The grease lter needs regular cleaning de­pending on its use, once every two months at least. The charcoal lter needs to be replaced de­pending on its use, once every six months at least.
We recommend to use tepid water and a neu­tral detergent to clean the appliance, while abrasive products should be avoided .
The power cord replacement must be car­ried out by specialized personnel only.
LED VIE551BK lamps replacement:
Remove the cooker-hood upper cover by re­moving the 4 xing screws , nd the dama­ged LED lamp and replace it with a new one with the same characteristics. Ret the upper cover.
ENERGY USE
The energy consumption of this appliance in standby mode is lower than 0.5W.
