The refrigerator compartment is mainly used to store foods that are to be preserved for a short time.
Operation
Refrigerator compartment
The refrigerator compartment is suitable for storing dairy, fruits, vegetables, drinks and other foods that will be eaten within a short period of time. We suggest sealing foods before putting them into the refrigerator.
The following suggests the best area of the refrigerator to store different types of food, please refer to the diagram to the left:
1 - Glass shelves: wheat based foods, milk, etc. The lower shelf can be used to store fish, meat, etc; ;
2 - Door shelf with lid: Butter and cheese. 3 - Drawers/Crispers: fruits and vegetables, etc.; 4 - Bottle rack: drinks, bottled foods, condiments, etc.; 5 - Water filter; this is to be changed at least every 6
months
Refrigerator drawers
Glass shelves
The refrigerating compartment has a fruit and vegetable drawer, which can retain the moisture of fruits and vegetables and keeps the humidity at the correct level. It is suitable for storing fruit and vegetables.
The glass shelves can be pulled forward and removed to alter the position. They must be pushed back to the original position after moving to ensure safe storage. To remove a shelf, pull it outward to the slot opening, and press the front end down slightly. It can then be removed.
Bottle rack
CA U TION
Food must be kept away from direct contact with the refrigerator inner liner as much as possible, especially from long-term contact. Failure to do so may cause corrosion to the inner liner and also spoil the food.
The bottle rack on the door is used to store bottled foods, canned foods and sundries. To remove the bottle rack, hold both sides with both hands and lift slightly. It will then lift of the door supports.
4
Not all food is suitable for storing in a refrigerator at temperatures below 5°C as some food can be sensitive to cold. The appearance, consistency, taste and/or the vitamin content of certain types of food can be adversely affected by being stored in too low temperatures. Food which does not tolerate cold temperatures includes: – Banansa, pineapples, avocados, mangos, melons, papayas, passion fruit and citrus fruits. – Also fruit which is not yet ripe, – Aubergines, cucumber, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and courgettes.

④ ⑤ ⑥
The ice maker and ice storage box are arranged at the upper part of the freezer compartment. When using the ice maker, please make sure that the ice maker switch is turned on and the water system is connected. The ice maker will make ice automatically. Note: when the ice storage box is full of ice, the ice making process will automatically stop.
The ice maker can make about 1,5kg of ice every 24 hours.
When the freezer compartment reaches the set temperature, the ice maker can make the first batch of ice after just a few hours.
CAUTION:
When the ice maker is making ice cubes, you may hear a sound from the water valve, flowing sound of water into ice maker, and falling sound of ice cubes. This
is normal and not a fault. The drip tray at the base of the ice and waster dispenser should be cleared
regularly to prevent water from spilling on to the floor below.
The upper freezer drawer can freeze and store large volume foods, the lower drawer should be mainly used to store pre-frozen foods.
The freezer compartment is suitable for retaining the freshness of foods for a long time. When storing meat, it is suggested to cut the meat into portion
sizes and mark the freezing date to help prevent foods from exceeding the recommended storage time.
The freshness of food when first placed in the appliance is a very important factor in determining how long it will stay fresh, and how long it can be kept in the refrigerator. Always observe the use-by date and recommended storage temperature. Time out of the refrigerator ( for example during transportation) should be kept to a minimum. Do not allow food to stay in a hot car for too long. It is a good idea to take a cool bag with you when shopping and on return place food into the fridge freezer immediately.
Never re-freeze partially or fully defrosted food, defrosted food may only be re-frozen after it has been cooked. Consume defrosted food as soon as possible as it will lose its nutritional value and spoil if left for too long.
Please note the following types of food are not suitable for freezing: Lettuce, grapes, sour cream, mayonnaise, eggs in their shells, onions, whole raw apples and pears.

Energy saving tips
When storing foods to be frozen, we suggest putting them inside of the freezer compartment, rather than the door rack storage.
Do not put bottled or canned foods into the freezer to prevent them from cracking or causing damage. Before putting hot food into the refrigerator, alwasy cool them to room temperature first. Otherwise, they will increase power consumption.
Mark the freezing date on the packaging bag according to different storage lives of foods, to help prevent food from exceeding the storage limit. Divide food into correct size pieces and package them separately. To allow them to easily freeze thoroughly and not stick together. The packaging materials should be odourless, airtight, watertight and pollution-free, so your packaged foods are not easy to taint by other smells, which can reduce the qaulity and taste. Do not put too much fresh food into the freezing compartment all at once, preferably not exceeding the freezing capacity value of refrigerator.
Defrosted foods cannot be frozen again, unless they are cooked first. Glass bottles or glass containers must not be placed into the freezer compartment or at the air outlet of the fridge compartment duct; they may explode when freezing. Foods must not block the air outlet; this can cause an abnormal air circulation.
Make sure the refrigerator is located away from any heat source (including
ovens) and direct sunlight.
Before storing hot foods, cool them to room temperature.
Keep the door closed, reduce the opening frequency, and keep the opening
time to a mimimum.
When defrosting frozen foods, you can put them into the fridge
compartment, which will assist in refrigeration helping to reduce the
energy used.
Make sure the temperature sensor is not covered or blocked by food, and
keep a good distance between foods.

Defrosting
This production has an automatic defrosting function, without the need for manual operation.
Precautions for internal and external cleaning of refrigerator:
After cleaning, reconnect to the power supply and open the water valve connected to the refrigerator.
Before cleaning, always turn off the power switch, disconnect from the power supply and close the water valve.
During cleaning, make sure no water will enter the switch, control panel, door lamp or top control box.
Remove any dirt from the outside of refrigerator with a mild cleaner, then wipe with clean soft cloth, and let the refrigerator dry naturally.
When cleaning door sealing strip, always use clean water only, wipe with a dry cloth and let it dry naturally. It is ok to use a soft cloth dampened with warm water or neutral cleaner to clean the body of the appliance.
It is forbidden to rinse the refrigerator directly with water, this will affect electrical insulation properties, etc.
It is forbidden to clean the refrigerator with metal wipers, wire brushes, coarse abrasive cleaners, strong alkaline detergents, or flammable or toxic cleaning fluids.

On holiday
When you are due to leave for a holiday, If you have food you plan to keep for a short time ready for when you return leave the appliance to work as normal. If you want to stop the refrigerator please remove all food,
disconnect the power plug, fully clean the inside of refrigerator and open the door, leaving it open for the duration to avoid producing abnormal odours.
When leaving for you holdiday, we suggest turning off the ice maker switch, empting the ice storage box, closing the water valve. This will stop
the ice making function until you return.
Power failure
Generally, short-term power failure will not affect the temperature of the refrigerator to a large extent. However, if power failure lasts for a long time, you should reduce the opening frequency of the doors, and do not put fresh foods into the fridge or freezer (to prevent the rise in temperature from speeding up).
If you know a power failure is coming, you can turn on the “Super Frz.” function in advance to keep the temperature at the lowest value.
When power a failure lasts for a long time, you need to take out the ice storage box and discard the contents to prevent the ice cubes from melting into water that will then flow into other parts of the freezer compartment.
Switching off the appliance
Generally, it is not suggested to stop the refrigerator or turn off the power switch; Doing this too much may effect the life of the refrigerator.
If the ambient temperature is too low during switch off, the remaining water in the water system may become frozen; in this case, please contact Caple Service to arrange for technicians to resolve the issue.
Switching off the ice maker
If the ice maker function is not needed for a long time, please switch off the ice maker temporarily; Hint: This only disables the
ice making function; the remaining ice in the ice
storage box can be taken used, and the water system operates normally.
The ice maker switch is located at the back of ice maker cover; just press it to switch off the ice maker.
After the ice maker is turned off, the ice/water icon on the control panel is still displayed, and the “IWD” button is enabled, therefore not affecting ice/water discharge.
CAUTION:
Before turning off the ice maker, you must disconnect the water system for several hours in advance; after turning off the ice maker, empty and clean the ice storage box, and then put it back. When the ice maker function is enabled, if there is still ice in the ice storage box, ice may fall during the refrigerator self-check.
Page 22
Water filter
CAUTION
Do not use the ice / water dispensing system where water quality is poor or unsafe to drink.
The water filter should be replaced at least every 6 months.
A replacement filter can be purchased directly from Caple, either via the website www.caple.co.uk or by contacting sales on 0117 938 1900.
Important water filter information
If the refrigerator is idle for a long time or drinking water has an abnormal taste, clean the water system fully, allow the water to run for a few minutes and dispose of the water taken in this period. If there is still a strange odour or taste, the filter should be replaced.
Replacing the filter
Before replacing the filter, you must disconnect the power supply or turn off the main power switch, and also cut off the water source.
Unscrew and pull down the filter according to the arrow indication on the filter itself.
Insert the new filter, and tighten;
After replacing the filter, take some water from the ice and water dispenser to remove air from the water system; and flush through 2 to
3 litres of water before using it to drink.
Dispose of the old used filter.
To buy replacement filters, please visit www.caple.co.uk or call our sales office on 0117 938 1900
CAUTION:
The water filter is designed to improve taste and odour, and also remove larger particles found in safe water. Do not use on biologically unsafe water supplies.

Troubleshooting
Delayed start up
When the ambient temperature is too high, it will take a long time to start the appliance.
Button failure
Please check to see if the control panel is locked, if it is locked it will prevent you from using the controls. Unlock the control panel before making any changes to the settings.
Dew drops
When external air flows on to the cool inner surface of the fridge, dew drops can be formed. If the humidity of the installed location is high or during a rainy season, dew drops can form on the outside of the fridge. This is a natural phenomenon that occurs during the humid weather. Wipe the water drops with a soft dry cloth.
Noise
When you operate the fridge for the first time, it will operate at high speed to cool quickly and the sound can seem louder. When the internal temperature falls below a certain level, the noise will subside. When the operation of the compressor is starting or ending various parts are expanding/contracting, various control devices are operating or temperature changes within the fridge, you will hear sounds, these are very normal.
Hot Compressor
When running, the temperature of the compressor is more than 80℃, please DO NOT touch the compressor, it may cause a serious injury.
Compressor running for long periods
When the ambient temperature is high or you add too much fresh food into the fridge freezer, it will take a long time to cool down. It will run until the appliance reaches the set temperature.
Middle beams feel hot to touch
The middle beams feel hot after the appliance has run for a period of time, this is normal.
Page 24
22
Abnormal odours in refrigerator
Food with strong odours should be well packed, check for foods which may have gone off; and also clean inside the fridge.
Ice maker failing to work normally
Check the ice maker switch is turned on; and whether the freezer compartment door is closed or ajar; Check the water supply is switched on; or whether water supply is obstructed, or water pressure is too low; Cehck to see if the temperature of freezer compartment is high due to just switching on or frequent use;
Water leakage from
the
ice outlet upon power-on for the first time
When
the
refrigerator is powered on for the first time, the system will execute a self-check; there may be a little water flowing out from the ice outlet of ice maker; this is part of the self-check action and is normal.
No ice from the dispenser
If the tempe rature of free zing compart ment is high or the door is opened and closed frequently, ice cubes in the ice storage box may join together; take out the ice cubes from the ice storage box, seperate and then put them back, and discard ice that is not broken; When the successive time of taking ice exceeds 1 minute, stop use for
at least 5 minutes and then take ice again; Check the water valve is opened, the ice maker will starts to make ice once the water supply is switched on; Also the door of freezing compartment may not be fully closed, make
sure that all doors are closed.
No water from dispenser
If the ambient temperature is lower than -2℃, no water will come out due to possible freezing of the water pipe, once the ambient
temperature is withing the correct working level the water should beging to work.
If you take water for longer than 3 minutes at once, the refrigerator will execute automatic protection. To solve this please release the ice/water discharge button for a while, and try again.
Warm water from dispenser
As the water pipe has a section exposed outside the refrigerator (at the rear), the temperature of the first cup of water taken may be slightly higher, just continue to take water to get cold water.
Blocked dispenser
Ice may have melted and is now frozen on the screw rod, this is due to infrequent use, a sharp temperature change, or over voltage. Empty the ice storage box, clean, wipe dry, and then reinstall.
Ice frozen together when ice maker
If the ice is not used much, ice cubes may freeze together; take out the frozen ice cubes from the ice storage box, break into pieces and then put back, or discard and wait for a fresh batch to be made.
