Installation and Operation Instructions
Thank you for purchasing the Endura InLine Drain Strainer.
The Endura IDS is intended for installation on individual
sink wastes in kitchen and sanitary applications, or where
there are materials or objects that need to be prevented
from entering the drainage system. These may be such
things as, but not limited to food debris, hair, lint or even
valuable items such as jewelry.
Installation Instructions:
The Endura IDS can be installed either horizontally or vertically and can be used to provide a water seal
trap, thereby replacing the need for a P-Trap. Provided ‘loose assembled’ the inlet and outlet can be
orientated to best suit your application, both hubs accepting 1-1/2” DWV pipe.
When making your installation, ensure that at least 8” of clearance remains in the direction of the lter
screen removal. Once conrmed in its nal orientation, the two main body are solvent welded using
regular pipe jointing cement. Note: If joining ABS to PVC, a suitable transition cement must be used.
For connection to the inlet and outlet hubs, the same holds true and should you require to make
connection to other tubular materials, a full range of trap adaptors are also available from Canplas.
Operation Instructions:
Once installed and operational, the IDS is cleaned by removing the access
cap. This is unscrewed in an anti-clockwise direction. As it is removed the
lter screen, assembled as an integrated part of the cap, self cleans the
inside surface of the IDS. Clean the accumulated debris and ret the lter
screen and cap.
Cleaning frequency is entirely dependant on application but typically a
noticeable slowing of your drainage discharge will be evident and indicate the requirement for cleaning.
Depending on the orientation of your nal installation (P-trap conguration for instance), the unit may contain a quantity of waste water, so
be sure to have a suitable container to hand to
catch any spillage upon opening. The lter
screen and cap are replaced in the reverse manner
of opening, ensuring that the O-ring seal
on the access cap remains in place and
in good condition. Hand tighten only.
