I. Product Overview
The imageRUNNER
8500, Canon’s first digital machine in segment 5 with up to 85 pages-per-minute, is a high-speed multifunction copier model that will be upgradeable to printer and advanced models. The imageRUNNER 8500 takes full advantage of current technology implemented in the imageRUNNER 600. Although many functions and features have been extracted from the imageRUNNER 600, the imageRUNNER 8500 includes many new-sophisticated features.

II. Design Features:
New features for the imageRUNNER 8500 include Job Build, Mirror Image, Tab Printing, up to 5 copy reservations, 100 sheet staple and 3 hole / 2 hole punch.
A. High Image Quality
The imageRUNNER 8500 scans up to 600 x 600 dpi, copies up to 1,200 x 600 dpi and printing up to 2,400 x 600 dpi.

Scanning Speed
Scanning speed for 1 to 1 is 80 ipm. High speed scanning is realized even while printing.
Stapling
The imageRUNNER 8500 staples up to 100 sheets and has staple cartridges containing 50 or 100 staples.
Punch Finishing
The imageRUNNER 8500 Finisher-K2 and Saddle Finisher-K3 can punch 2 to 3 holes in documents. The puncher unit automatically detects what type of hole is used according to the paper selection. Three holes are punched in letter paper and two holes are punched in Letter-R and Legal Paper.
Hard Drive Capacity
The imageRUNNER 8500 has a 10GB hard drive.
Copy Reservation
The imageRUNNER 8500 has up to five copy reservations at a time.
First copy Output time
First copy output is approximately 2.9 seconds from platen glass and approximately 4.3 seconds from the ADF.

If any of the options are installed, the printer may no longer be Energy Star compliant.
