Warm water exercise is an excellent way for those with arthritis to build strength, ease tired muscles and relax stiff joints. Water buoyancy greatly reduces the pull of gravity on the body and relieves the body of constant pressure. Warm water is the ideal condition for low impact exercises as it improves circulation and increases your range of motion.
Get a Better Night’s Sleep by Combining Exercise with a Soak
Exercise, when combined with a soak in your warm Fitness Spa a few hours before bedtime, can increase your overall sleep enjoyment. Owners report that they fall asleep faster, sleep more deeply and wake up more refreshed.
Shape & Tone Your Body with Cal Flex Workouts
Build muscle strength and shape and tone your body with Cal Flex equipment. Cal Flex rowing equipment and resistance bands enable you to perform a variety of exercises including rowing, bicep curls, tricep extensions and more. All Cal Spas Fitness Spas are equipped with sturdy receptacles to attach the Cal Flex workout resistance bands.
Get a Full Body Workout with Treadmill Swimming (Fitness Pro)
Treadmill swimming is one of the best overall workouts for your body. It helps build and tone muscles as you swim in place against the current created by two powerful swim jets. Adjust the jets to swim against a gentle flow or train for a triathlon!

bearing muscles and joints. During water exercise, nearly 90% of your
body weight is supported by water, allowing you to move more easily and improve your flexibility and range of motion. You will also build muscle strength as your body works against natural water resistance. As your total body aquatic fitness solution, your Ultimate Fitness spa can be used to cycle through a number of circuit training exercises, such as:

Child Safety and Security Locks
Safety straps employ a lock-and-key device to protect young children from unsupervised entry. Your family’s enjoyment and safety is important to Cal Spas.
Energy Efficiency
The interior lining, crafted of polyester-reinforced PVC with Mylar coating, provides enhanced heat retention. A dense foam core and snug, zippered fit–with padded flaps all around the cover’s edges to prevent heat seepage–also ensure superior thermal insulation.
UV Protected Material
Cal Spas marine-grade hot tub covers feature a vinyl top, filled with 2 lb. virgin foam core and supported by 18-gauge steel Cchannel beams. Each cover is rated to withstand 1,500 UV-hours of protection to prevent cracking, splitting or fading. Mildew inhibitors ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
Tapered Design
Cal Spas covers are engineered with an angled runoff design to protect your hot tub from condensation. The cover is tallest in the center and slopes downward at the edges to prevent water from pooling in the center of the cover. This design directs water to naturally flow away from the center of the cover and onto the floor.
Optional Cover Lift
All covers can be equipped with an optional convenient cover lift that makes removing the cover a breeze. With a Cal Spas cover lift, one person can remove any cover and they can do it with one hand! Best of all, the cover lift ensures that the cover is protected and eliminates the need for extra storage space as your cover conveniently folds out of sight. The cover lift can be mounted at the top or bottom of the spa to match your backyard design. Fitness spas larger than 11’ in length require a special order cover lift.

Getting Ready for the Experience of a Lifetime
Your Cal Spas fitness spa will offer you and your family years of enjoyment once you take the time to properly prepare
your Home Resort location prior to delivery. We strongly recommend that you have a qualied, licensed contractor
perform the installation of your fitness spa.
Planning Your Spa Atmosphere
How you will use your spa will determine where and how it should be positioned. Spas meant for exercise, family time
or hot tub parties should have a wide clearance on all sides for activity. If your spa is meant for relaxation or intimacy,
you may want to create a more private area surrounded by a coordinating Cal Designs gazebo.
Plan for Your Environment
Consider the weather and climate of your region and place your spa accordingly. If you experience inclement weather
conditions like rain, snow or wind, you may want to locate your spa closer to your home so that you have a convenient
area for changing clothes.
Privacy Considerations
When your hot tub is your escape from the world, it’s important to keep your spa experience hidden from prying eyes.
Before you set your spa down, gauge your neighbors’ sight-lines to minimize any invasion of your privacy. Also con-
sider your surroundings for every season. Leafless trees offer little privacy during fall and winter.
A Spa with a View
Think about which seats in your spa you might use the most and which direction they face. You should make sure they
face something pleasant to look at—like the sunset or a landscaped area of your garden.
Personal Safety
Do not place your spa within 10 feet (3 meters) of overhead power lines. Ensure that the spa is positioned so that ac-
cess to the equipment compartment and all side panels will not be blocked. Be certain that your installation meets all
city and local safety codes and requirements.
A Clean Spa Is a Healthy Spa
Prevent dirt and contaminants from being tracked into you spa by placing a mat or water-filled basin at the spa’s
entrance so bathers can clean their feet before getting in. Keep the path to and from your spa clean so that no one
accidentally brings dirt into your hot tub.
Select Your Site
Cal Spas hot tubs and fitness spas can be installed indoors or outdoors. Outdoor installation is more popular and there
are several important considerations before installing your spa indoors. Indoor spa installations typically cost more,
which is one of the reasons why most hot tubs are placed outside. Structural considerations include making sure your
indoor site can accommodate the weight of the hot tub and provide humidity ventilation. Additionally, check with your
area’s building department for any indoor spa building codes. Cal Spas offers an alternative to building your spa inside
by enabling you to build your spa outside within a spa enclosure or beneath a villa or gazebo.

PRE-DELIVERY GUIDE
102
7
Preparing the Site
Your fitness spa needs a solid and level foundation. The installation surface must be able to support the weight of the
hot tub, the water and any occupants. Recommended placement for your tness spa is on an elevated 3- to 4- inch
concrete slab or a surface that is similar in strength and durability. Pavers, gravel, brick, sand, timbers or dirt foun-
dations are not adequate to support the spa. Indoor spas should be placed on flooring that will not be damaged or
stained. It is highly recommended that a qualified, licensed contractor prepare the foundation for your spa. If the foun-
dation is not strong enough, it may shift after the spa has been placed, causing undue stress that can damage your hot
tub. You may wish to calculate the weight of your spa to determine if the site that you have selected is adequate.
Calculate Your Spa Weight
The weight of your full spa can be calculated by multiplying the number of gallons it holds by 8.33 and then adding the
product to the spa’s dry weight.
Make Sure Your Spa Fits
The specification chart in this brochure lists your spa’s dimensions. Compare these dimensions to the installation site
and use it to identify any possible obstructions along the delivery path, such as gates and doorways. It may be neces-
sary to partially remove a fence or cut branches to provide a clear route. If there are obstructions or stairs along the
delivery path, make arrangements with your local Cal Spas dealer to get around them prior to delivery.
Crane Guidelines
A crane is the most convenient way to deliver fitness spas that are larger than 8 feet in length or width. Crane delivery
is routine for Cal Spas dealers who work with local crane operators to access remote locations. The crane operator
and installation team will secure the fitness spa to the crane arm. The operator will then use the crane to slowly lower
the spa onto the location that you have selected. The cost of a crane is typically not included in standard delivery
service.
Connect Electrical – US & Canada
Fitness spas require 240V electrical installation on a dedicated GFCI protected circuit as required by ANSI/NFPA 70
with no other appliances or lights sharing the power. All 240V spas must be permanently connected (hard-wired) to
the power supply. Spas wired in any other way will void your warranty and may result in serious injury. Electrical con-
nectivity must be installed by an electrical contractor and approved by a local building/electrical inspector.
