Function
Float type automatic air vent designed to vent air that is released
from the water at high points in piping. Example
applications include domestic hot water storage tanks and
recirculation system pump inlets. Compatible with plumbing
systems low-lead brass body certified and listed by ICC-ES.

Installation
The vent is installed in the vertical position on riser pipes and generally in parts of the system
where a concentration of air pockets is to be expected.
Operating instructions
The automatic air vent can be used for manual or automatic venting of hydronic and plumbing
systems. The automatic air vent is supplied complete with a safety hygroscopic cap that
automatically closes the air discharge in case of contact with water.
For normal automatic venting, keep hygroscopic cap closed for a slow release of air. A fast release
of the air may allow dirt or scale in the water to plug the operating mechanism. The small hole in
the side of the cap allows air to escape.
Service instructions
For optimum performance replace hygroscopic cap every 3 years. The natural cellulose fiber
washers can deteriorate over time when exposed to unfiltered or hard water.

pipe joint compounds. Teflon® provides lubricity so that care must be
exercised not to over-tighten joints. Failure to follow these instructions
could result in property damage and /or personal injury.
WARNING: System fluids under pressure or temperature can be
hazardous. Be sure the pressure has been reduced to zero and the
system temperature is below 100°F (38°C). Failure to follow these
instructions could result in property damage and/or personal injury.
CAUTION: If the air vent is not installed, commissioned and
maintained properly, according to the instructions contained in
this manual, it may not operate correctly and may endanger the user.
CAUTION: Make sure that all the connecting pipework is water tight.
CAUTION: Uncontrolled venting of water can occur with the automatic
air vent if dirt, scale, pipe joint compound or any other foreign materials
becomes trapped in the operating mechanism. Keep vent cap closed during
filling to prevent dirt from flowing into vent mechanism. Failure to follow
these instructions could result in property damage and/or personal injury.
CAUTION: Corrosion or leakage can cause damage or injury.
Periodically inspect for signs of corrosion or leakage. If corrosion or
leakage is noted, the vent must be replaced. Failure to follow thee
instructions could result in property damage and/or personal injury.

avec l’air automatique si la saleté, de l’échelle, de composé à joint ou tout
autre corps étranger est retenu dans le mécanisme de fonctionnement.
Conservez le capuchon de purge fermées pendant le remplissage pour
empêcher la saleté de pénétrer dans le mécanisme. Le non-respect de ces
