1.1 Product overview
CAIMORE BD/GPS
BeiDou Navigation Satellite System/ Global Positioning System,
hearby called BD/GPS as follow
supports 2 frequency BD2 B1 and GPS L1, dual
32-channel parallel,fast positioning under BD mode in order to provide all day,
real-time location-based services for users in the service area with the positioning
accuracy rather to civilian one, short message communication, which can send the
information up to 120 characters, precision timing with 20 nanoseconds accuracy.
Compared to Beidou system, GPS has following advantages: first, widely covering
range,no communication blind. Beidou system has covered China and neighboring

countries and regions, which can provide service not only for China, but also
neighboring country. Second, particularly suitable for user groups to do monitoring
management and data collection & transmission in a wide range. Third,integrating 2
resources of the Beidou navigation and positioning systems and satellite-based
augmentation system, it can be sued to rich the application of GPS. Fouth,
autonomous systems, due to its features of safe, reliable, stable, secure and strong, it
is suitable for application of the relevant departments.
It is used ProGee II Beidou/GPS SoC chip compatible with Beidou and GPS dual
system, which is a navigation receiver module of Beidou II and GPS dual system
satellite. Standard data output with NMEAO183, data refresh rate is 1HZ. The
accuracy of positioning and horizontal position is 3 m; vertical position accuracy: 6 m
1σ; speed accuracy: 0.1m/sec, 1σ((1σ represented 66.7% probability).
Xiamen Caimore BD/GPS is a industrial module which provide various serial ports,
such as RS232/ RS485 serial port. Industrial navigation module makes it much
stronger on anit-interference and more stability on transmission. Widely working
temperature range from -30 ºC to 75 ºC, and passed 3000V electric shock testing, it
is particularly suitable for using in harsh industrial environments. Meanwhile, it also
has other good features. Such as excellent EMC/EMI, stable & reliable system; passed
through EMC testing.
Due to above high-performance feature, Xiamen Caimore BD/GPS has been
widely applied in shipping, road transport, vehicle monitoring, vehicle navigation,
handheld and asset tracking or other fields.

Of course, there will be some deviation in positioning. For the mainly reasons,
see as below:
1. Atmosphere (especially the delay signal of ionospheric and tropospheric)
Ionospheric delay is caused by the refraction affection between the earth’s
ionosphere surrounding and electromagnetic waves, which makes the
changeable propagation velocity of the signal. Tropospheric delay refers to
the refraction affection between the earth’s tropospheric surrounding and
electromagnetic waves, which makes the changeable GPS signal propagation
speed changes.
2.Satellite clock deviation.
Due to quite sophisticated, the satellite can calculate the number of tiny
message information, for example, the atomic clock (Cesium). However,there
will be some minor deviation caused by such precision device but not means
perfect. In another word, the satellite will not in the state to be monitored
every second, even positioning continues to be monitored. In this case, if any
slight positioning deviation or satellite ephemeris error generated during this
period, it will affect the accuracy of the calculation when the receiver do the
positioning.
3. Ephemeris error ( the satellite orbit errors)
When performing positioning, the satellite has to calculated various

parameters of satellite orbit at a certain time according to kinds of ephemeris.
But whichever ephemeris be used, there will be a difference between the real
position and calculated one, that will be called ephemeris error.
Certainly, the other external variability factors also will generated
noticeable influence on the positioning accuracy of BD/GPS receiving terminal.
Such as the number of the currently visible satellites and the distribution of
the satellites.
4. Multipath effect ( the reflection signal of the receiver antenna from the
other surface)
Multipath effect refers to the receiver gets not only the satellite signal
but also reflection and refraction signal, due to the surrounding environment
of terminal receiving. For example, the probability of satellite received refract
or reflect signal is quite large, when it in high-rises building or in the jungle
mountains.
5.Human disturbance
The human impact of BD/GPS control section refers to the control section
problem or the deviation introduced by the user do the data processing, or
the affect by the operation of data processing software, or data processing
software imperfect algorithms affect on the positioning results. That is said
starting to mapping program while the navigation doing some additional data
processing, which will generated data deviation, and then to affect the
accuracy BD/GPS positioning.

Some other factors, such as electromagnetic pulse interference inside the
car or electronic products, which also will have some more or less impact for
BD/GPS positioning, although those are within the controllable range.
The positioning error displayed on the map, the main reasons are below:
International Latitude and longitude coordinates standards WGS-84, domestic
must use GCJ-02 which is developed by National measurement Agency, to do the first
encryption of location. On the basis of it, Baidu map or Google map coordinates do
the BD-09 secondary encryption measures to improve the protection of personal
privacy. That will caused by some errors on displaying.

Chapter 2 Installation
2.1 Overview
Xiamen Caimore BD/GPS should be installed in correctly way to reach the design
functions. The installation should be followed by a qualified engineer’s guidance who
has generally recognized by Caimore.
Notice:
Forbid to install the BD / GPS with power.
2.2 Unpacking
To ensure the safe transportation, Caimore BD/GPS always requires a reasonable
package, please keep the packaging material when you open the box so as to use
them again when before transporting in the future. Following are the main

Since the user’s data cable connector is on the bottom of the module, we provide
the installation accessories to fix the cables in order to improve the reliability of the
connection

2.5 Rail installation
In order to make the product stable to get into the customer's system, we can use
our products fixed rail. Rail installation is as follows:
Chapter 3 Operation
First, selecting the same serial number as the one when BD/GPS connect with PC
from the serial debugging assistant, to configuration the serial parameters, and then
click the “open serial port”. Configuration the serial parameters like this: baud
rate——9600; data bit——8; Parity——none; stop bit——1; flow control——none.
Then, you have to get the verification code of instruction first,and send out the
instruction with verification code before configuration successfully.Please pay

attention that since the configuration information is not be saved into the flash, it will
request to reset after each reboot. See as following steps:
1、First, open the checksum software
, and then type the data
between $ and * from the command into the command bar (for
example:command

2、Click “checksum calculation” to generate a verification code (02), and
then get the instruction with check code
