It is necessary to pay attention to these warnings in order to avoid the risk of personal injury and damage to the appliance.
Do not use the appliance if it is damaged in any way. At the  rst sign of defects or unusual noises or smells, turn o the appliance and unplug it. In such cases contact an Authorized Service Center.
Only use the appliance if the power cord is intact. If the cord is damaged, it should be replaced: contact an Authorized Service Center. Danger of electric shocks. Do not leave the power cord near hot surfaces, sharp edges or other sharp objects. When disconnecting the appliance, pull on the plug, not the cord; otherwise it may be damaged.
Only connect the appliance to power outlets complying with the requirements of law. Make sure that the power supply voltage matches the rating shown on the data plate on the bottom of the appliance.
To avoid the risk of  re, set the appliance on a  at, heat-resistant surface. Only use and store the appliance indoors.
Do not let the power cord dangle! Position the cord so there is no risk of tripping.
Do not allow the appliance to be used by children or persons with impaired mental, physical or sensory faculties or insu cient experience and/or skills, unless they are under the careful supervision and guidance of a person responsible for their safety. Children must be kept under supervision to prevent them from playing with the appliance.
Always close the lever. Never open the lever while the appliance is operating. Always use the appliance with the drip tray and grill in place.
The quantity of co ee dispensed can be programmed up to a maximum of 250 ml.

Never place your hands inside the capsule compartment. Danger of injury! Never remove parts of the appliance. Do not insert objects into the openings. This could cause electric shocks! Any operation that is not described in this instruction manual should only be performed by an Authorized Service Center!
Clean the appliance carefully and regularly. If it is not cleaned, the build-up that forms may be hazardous to your health. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning.
Descale the appliance regularly, following the instructions provided. If you do not, the appliance may be damaged and may become harmful to your health.
Make sure the electrical elements, plug and cord are dry. Never submerge the appliance in water. Protect the appliance from sprays and drips. Water and electricity together constitute a risk of electrocution.
If you do not expect to use the appliance for a long period of time (leaving on vacation, etc.), unplug it.

The appliance has been manufactured using high quality materials that can be reused or recycled. Dispose of the appliance in a suitable waste collection center.
When you decide to dispose of the appliance, unplug it from the power outlet. Then cut o the power cord as close to the body of the appliance as possible.
Directions for correct disposal of the product according to European Directive 2002/96/EC and Italian Legislative Decree no. 151 of 25 July 2005. At the end of its useful life, the product should not be disposed of with unsorted household waste. It should be taken to a suitable selective waste collection center set up by the local authorities or returned to a retailer who provides this service. Separate collection of an electric household appliance avoids a possible negative impact on the environment and health arising from improper disposal and enables the materials it is made of to be recovered so as to achieve signi cant savings of energy and resources. The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol applied on the product highlights the need to dispose of electric appliances separately. Improper disposal of the product by the user shall be subject to speci c administrative sanctions as provided for under current regulations. The packaging is made from recyclable materials. The appliance is made to brew co ee and dispense hot water. It is intended for domestic use and must be used in accordance with these instructions. Use only Map Co ee capsules. Any other use is to be considered improper. Use of the appliance in any manner other than as directed herein could cause harm to persons and void the guarantee. The manufacturer will not be responsible for injury or damage resulting from improper use of the appliance.

Priming your machine
Fill the water tank with fresh, still water.
The buttons and alarm indicator light will blink simultaneously.
Plug in the appliance and turn it on.
Place an ample container under the dispensing spout.
At the end of this operation, empty out the water from the used capsule drawer.
Press one of the co ee buttons. Wait for the machine to complete the priming cycle and  ll with water.

When the indicator lights blink alternately and the appliance emits 3 beeps, it is necessary to carry out a descaling cycle.
Turning on the appliance
Fill the water tank with fresh, still water. Turn the appliance on.
The buttons will blink simultaneously to indicate that the machine is warming up. When the buttons remain steadily lit, the appliance is ready for operation.

In order to use espresso cups, you must lift and turn the grill on top of the drip tray.
The grill must be positioned over the drip tray turned.
Adjusting the cup/mug height
The appliance can be adjusted for the use of mugs or espresso cups.
The appliance is initially set for the use of large cups or mugs.
In this way you can obtain the best results when using small espresso cups.

Raise the lever to open the capsule compartment. Insert the capsule, pressing it gently into place.
Close the lever  rmly.
Place a cup or mug under the co ee dispensing spout (see chapter 4).
Press the desired co ee button only once. The selected co ee button will blink. The appliance will stop
dispensing on reaching the programmed quantity and the emit a beep.

Preparing other beverages
Capsules may be available for preparing beverages such as tea, chamomile tea, fi lter beverages, etc. For their use, proceed as directed in the previous chapter; on reaching step 5, press “Filter coff ee”.
In order to prepare beverages using barley capsules, cocoa drinks, etc.. proceed as directed in the previous chapter; on reaching step 5, press “Espresso or Long Co ee” depending on the desired quantities.
NOTE:
Traces of the product just dispensed may remain inside the machine. When switching from one product to another, in order to fully enjoy the  avor of the beverage we suggest rinsing the machine by pressing the co ee button as if to dispense a co ee without inserting a capsule.
NOTE:
The quantities of co ee dispensed can be reprogrammed according to personal taste and the size of the
cups/mugs used. Please refer to chapter 7 for reprogramming instructions.
Raise the lever to eject the used capsule into the drawer. Close the lever.

Programming the quantity of co ee in a cup
Place a cup or mug under the co ee dispensing spout depending on the type of co ee you wish to program (see chapter 4).
Press the desired co ee button and keep it pressed down.
On reaching the desired amount of co ee in a cup, release the button. Now the button is programmed. To reprogram the button or program another button repeat the above steps.
Raise the lever to open the capsule compartment.
Insert the capsule, pressing it gently into place.
Close the lever  rmly.

Keep the buttons pressed down and at the same time turn on the machine by pressing the power on/o switch.
The indicator light will  ash three times and three beeps will be emitted to con rm deactivation of the “Energy Saving” function. When the function is reactivated, the indicator light will  ash twice and two beeps will be emitted.
The machine features a function (normally activated) which automatically reduces energy consumption by around 98% after one hour has elapsed since it was last used. To deactivate (or reactivate) this function, proceed as follows:
Once the “Energy Saving” function has been programmed, the machine will automatically reduce consumption one hour after the last use. The buttons will cyclically and slowly blink with a WHITE light.
To restore normal operating conditions, press any button or raise the lever. The appliance will start warming up. When the appliance is ready for use the buttons will be steadily lit WHITE.
Make sure the lever is lowered.

Remove the drip tray and used capsule drawer.
Remove the grill. Empty the drip tray and rinse it out with fresh water.
Lift the capsule drawer; empty and rinse it out.
Remove the water tank. Empty and rinse out the tank. The water tank is NOT dishwasher safe.
Use a soft, dampened cloth and a neutral detergent to clean the surfaces of the appliance.
The plastic parts of the machine are not dishwasher safe.

Descaling the machine
The machine features an advanced program that monitors how much water is used to dispense beverages. This measurement provides the user with indications as to when the machine needs to be descaled. Speci c indications are given in chapter 3.
Carefully read the directions for use on the package of the descaling agent. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and machine surfaces. Do not use vinegar: it could damage your appliance! During descaling, do not turn the machine o .
Turn the machine o .
Remove and empty the water tank.
Empty and rinse out the used capsule drawer and drip tray.
Prepare the descaling solution following the manufacturer’s directions and pour a liter of solution into the tank.

The machine delivers descaling solution at intervals. During this phase the LEDs blink alternately.
During this process do not press any buttons or interrupt machine as this will inactivate auto descaling. (Refer to page 22 should descaling be interrupted)
Place a container (at least 250 ml) under the co ee dispensing spout.
Keep the buttons pressed down and simultaneously turn on the machine by pressing the power on/o switch.
Make sure the lever is lowered.
The blue button and the LEDs blink alternately. Press the button to start the descaling cycle.

Rinse water will be run through the machine. During this phase the LEDs blink alternately (2 blinks at a time).
Empty and rinse out the used capsule drawer and drip tray. The blue button and the LEDs blink alternately.
Press the button to start the rinse cycle.
When the cycle is over, the blue button and the LEDs blink alternately.
Carefully rinse out the water tank and  ll it with fresh drinking water.
If the container  lls up, empty it out.

Draining the appliance
CAUTION - When the appliance is not used for a long time, it is necessary to drain the water lines. Liquids may freeze and
damage the appliance.
Make sure the lever is lowered.Turn the machine o .
Turn the machine o . The next time you turn it on you will have to carry out a new start-up procedure.
Remove and empty out the water tank. Keep the buttons pressed down and at the same time turn on the
machine by pressing the power on/o switch.
The indicator light will blink and the machine will carry out a drainage cycle. At the end the machine will emit a beep.
