Sharply creased lines cover a rear-wheel drive platform designed to deliver a bold
challenge to the world’s most revered sport cars. There’s little subtlety under the hood,
either—556 horsepower ready to respond to the slightest inclination of your right foot.
In the time it takes to ask “How fast is this?”, you’re already going 60 MPH. Every
beveled inch of the CTS-V is packed, not just with advanced technology, but advanced

Nürburgring racetrack in Germany
Nürburgring is the yardstick by which all production cars are measured, with
sweeping curves, varying surfaces, dramatic climbs and stomach-churning drops,
all complicated by weather that can change in a heartbeat. There may be other tracks,
but there is only one Nürburgring. It was here that we brought the CTS-V to challenge
the world’s best. Not only did we set the standard for production sedan performance, we
also brought a piece of the German ’Ring home with us. We recreated some of the most
demanding corners from the world’s most formidable racetracks to create the ultimate
test track right in our own backyard so we can practice every day.

Start with the mesh grille, designed not only
for its aggressive look, but also for its ability to
efficiently channel more air to the intercooler
feeding the supercharged 556 HP V8 powerplant.
Its rear-wheel drive platform is backed by
a Nürburgring-tuned suspension fitted with
dual-mode Magnetic Ride Control that instantly
adapts to changing road conditions in the blink
of an eye. Assured stopping comes courtesy of
Brembo® six-piston front calipers and lighweight
dual-cast front rotors. And for maximum
acceleration performance, a no-lift-upshift
feature allows the driver to maintain
wide-open throttle during a shift to keep the
engine's supercharger at full boost—and the
engine at full power—when upshifting the manual
transmission. All in all, it's anything but subtle.
