Cadac CDC six and CDC eight mixing console

Introduction
These instructions are intended to cover one scenario using Waves on the CDC eight or six:
AIM: To demonstrate the use of Waves Effects plug-ins.
The CDC six (CDC eight) will act as our ‘Waves controller’ rather than an external PC or MAC.
The CDC six will run Waves MultiRack SoundGrid software. It is assumed that the console has
already been installed with this). Separate instructions are however available describing this software
install process: Quick Reference Guide: Installing Waves on a CDC six or CDC eight.
Any test audio will be supplied to and from the console via a CDC I/O rack.

CDC eight or six consoles with Waves audio card fitted
Cat5e/6 cable
Waves licence (on USB memory stick) to cover MultiRack SoundGrid
USB mouse / Keyboard
Optional: Only required for sourcing / monitoring audio to / from the console:
CDC I/O 6448 or CDC I/O 3216 stage rack

Set-up
Attach the CDC six (or CDC eight) to the Waves SoundGrid server using single Cat6 cable – CDC six
shown below..
Any of port - 1, 2 or 3 - may be used to connect to the SoundGrid server.
Connect CDC I/O stage rack to the console using RG6 coaxial cables for the MegaCOMMS network
Connect the audio source to an input on the CDC I/O stage rack
Connect speaker to an output on the CDC I/O stage rack

Software Instructions
There are two separate aspects to this.
CDC six Waves Software
This consists of a program called ‘MultiRack SoundGrid’.
This can be run on a separate laptop to the console, however, for normal stand-alone operation it is
run on the console.
This software may be started from the console menu system as follows:
Important: A licence dongle must be inserted into the console to run this software (highlighted in red
below).
Consider the system window, as follows:
