There are two ways to customize specific configurations on your IP phone:
The user interface on the IP phone
The user interface in a web browser (web GUI) on your PC
The hardware components keypad and LCD screen constitute the phone user interface, which allows
the user to execute all call operation tasks and basic configuration changes directly on the phone. In
addition, you can use the web user interface to access all configuration settings. In many cases, it is
possible to use either the phone user interface and/or the web user interface interchangeably.
However, in some cases, it is only possible to use one or the other interface to operate the phone and
change settings.
Phone User Interface
You can view the phone user interface by pressing the Menu soft key. The Advanced Settings option
is only accessible to the administrator, and the default administrator password is “admin”
(case-sensitive).

Web User Interface (Web GUI)
In addition to the phone user interface, you can also customize your phone via web user interface. In
order to access the web user interface, you need to know the IP address of your new phone. To
obtain the IP address, press the OK key on the phone when the phone is idle. Enter the IP address
(e.g., http://192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.100) in the address bar of a web browser on your PC. The
default administrator user name and password are both “admin” (case-sensitive).

Getting Started
This chapter provides the following basic system configuration. Topics include:
After your phone has been powered up, the system boots up and performs the following steps:
1. Automatic Phone Initialization
The phone finishes the initialization process by loading the saved configuration. The phone LCD
screen will display "Booting"
2. And then it shows “Initializing” during the initialization.
By default the phone attempts to contact a DHCP server in your network in order to obtain its valid
network settings, e.g. IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server.

Web Login
1. Check the IP address of your phone: Press Menu -> Status -> Information, or Press->
Information.
2. Enter the IP address in a browser’s address bar, and then press the Enter key.
3. Enter the user name (admin) and password (admin) in the login page.
4. Click Log In.

Basic Network Settings
There are 3 modes to access Internet: DHCP, Static IP address, PPPoE. The default mode is DHCP, it
will obtain IP address and other information automatically.
Note:
If your phone cannot contact a DHCP server for any reason, you need to configure network settings
manually.
To configure a static IPv4 address via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Advanced Settings (password: admin) -> Network -> Wan Port -> Static
Mode.
2. Enter the parameters: IP, Netmask, Gateway, Pri. DNS (primary dns), Sec. DNS(second DNS) in the
corresponding fields.
3. Click Save and restart the phone.
To configure PPPoE via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Advanced Settings (password: admin) -> Network -> Wan Port -> PPPoE
Mode.
2. Enter the parameters: User ID, Password.

To configure Network via web user interface:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Network -> Basic.
3. Select the mode you want and fill in corresponding information.

Note:
Incorrect network parameters may result in inaccessibility of your phone and may also have an
impact on your network performance. For more information about these parameters, you can
contact your network administrator.

PC port
While WAN port is used to access Internet, PC port can play the role as bridge or router.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Network -> Basic.
3. Select the mode you want, when you select “As router”, you need to fill in more information like
what you do on a router.
4. Click SaveSet and Restart.

Registration
To register via web user interface:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Account -> Basic.
3. Select the desired account in Account filed
4. Enter the desired value in Account Active, Primary SIP Server, SIP Transport, SIP User ID, Authenticate ID, and Authenticate Password field respectively. Contact your PBX system
administrator or SIP provider for more information if needed.
4. Click SaveSet.
Note:
1. All fields with * must be filled. If changed, it requires a phone restart.
2. Account Status says the account registered successfully or not.
When change the account information via phone, it will show Restart note when back to idle page.
3. Enter the desired value in Account Active, SIP Server, Failover SIP server(optional), Outbound
Proxy(optional), SIP User ID, Authenticate ID, Authenticate Password, Name(optional) and
Ringtone(optional) field respectively.
4. Press Save soft key and Restart IP phone.

Customizing Your Phone
You can customize your IX-C62 IP phone by personally configuring certain settings, for example,
language, time & date, ring tones. You can add contacts to the phone’s local directory manually or
from call history. You can also personalize different ring tones for different accounts.
This chapter provides basic operating instructions for customizing your phone. Topics include:
General Settings (Language, Time & Date, Administrator Password, Key as Send, Phone Lock &

Language
The default language of the phone user interface is English. If the language of your web browser is
not supported by the phone, the web user interface will use English by default.
Note:
The language for the phone user interface and the web user interface are independent, you can
change it respectively.
To change the language for the phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Basic Settings -> Language .
2. Press or to select the desired language.
3. Press the Save soft key, then text displayed on the phone user interface will change to the selected
language.

2. Select the desired language from the pull-down list of Language

Time & Date

The time and date are displayed on the LCD screen when the phone is idle. You can configure the
phone to obtain the time and date from the SNTP server automatically, or configure the time and
date manually.
Note:
If the phone cannot obtain the time and date from the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) server,
you can contact your SNMP server or Internet administrator for more information.
To configure the SNTP settings via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Basic Settings -> Time & Date -> SNTP Settings.
2. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select the time zone that applies to your area
from the Time Zone field.
3. Enter the domain name or IP address of SNTP server in the NTP Server1 and NTP Server2 field
respectively.

4. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Cancel soft key to cancel.
To configure the time and date manually via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Basic Settings -> Time & Date -> Manual Settings.
2. Press or to select the desired value in Day, Month, Year, Hour, Minute, Second
filed.
3. Press the Save soft key, then the time and date displayed on the LCD screen will change
accordingly.
If you want to change the Time & Date Format, you can continue with the following operation:
4. Press Menu -> Settings -> Basic Settings -> Time & Date Format.
5. Press or to select the desired mode in Clock, Date Format field.
6. Press the Save soft key, then the Time & Date will change to the selected mode.
To configure the date and time format via web user interface (Set Date & Time manually is not
included):
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Setting -> Date & Time.
3. Configure the fields as you want.

4. Click SaveSet.
Administrator Password
The web user interface and phone user interface share the same administrator account, the default
administrator password is “admin”.
For security reasons, you should change the default administrator password as soon as possible.
To change the administrator password via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Advanced Settings (default password: admin) -> Phone Settings -> Set
Password.
2. Enter the old password in the Current PWD field.
3. Enter the new password in the New PWD field.
4. Re-enter the new password in the Confirm field.

5. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Cancel soft key to cancel.
To change the administrator password via web user interface:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Management -> Password.
3. Enter the old password in the Current Password field.
3. Enter the new password in the New Password field.
4. Re-enter the new password in the Confirm Password field.
5. Click SaveSet.

Key as Send
You can set the “#” key to perform as a send key while dialing.
To configure key as send via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Features -> Key as Send.
2. Press or , or the Switch soft key to enable/disable it.
3. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Cancel soft key to cancel.
To configure key as send via web user interface:
Note:
The Key as Send setting on web user interface works for each account separately.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Account -> Advanced.
3. Select the desired account in Account filed
4. Select “Yes” in the Use # As Dial Key field.

No Key Entry Timeout
The No Key Entry Timeout feature defines how many seconds IX-C62 to wait for your next key and
dial when you stop pressing keys.
To configure No Key Entry Timeout:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Setting -> Preference.
3. Enter value in No Key Entry Timeout field (0 means never timeout, you should press the send key
to dial out the number).

4. Click SaveSet.
Phone Lock & Emergency numbers
You can lock your phone temporarily when you are not using it. This feature helps to protect your
phone from unauthorized use. When Phone Lock is enabled, you can still place calls to Emergency
numbers
Phone lock consists of the following:
All Keys: All keys are locked, you are only allowed to dial emergency numbers, reject incoming calls
by pressing the key, answer incoming calls by pressing the Speakerphone key or the headset
key, mute the call by pressing Mute key, end the call by pressing the Speakerphone key or the
headset key.
Menu Key: The Menu soft key is locked. You cannot access the menu of the phone until unlocked.
Function Keys: The function keys are locked. You cannot use the soft keys, line keys, navigation
keys, Headset, Mute and Speaker until unlocked.

Answer All only: All keys are locked, the incoming call is answered with Speaker mode
automatically, you are allowed to mute the call by pressing Mute key, switch the talking mode to
Headset by pressing the headset key, end the call by pressing the Speakerphone key or the headset
key.
To activate the phone lock via phone user interface:
2. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select the desired mode in Keypad Lock field.
3. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Cancel soft key to cancel.
To activate the phone lock via web user interface:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Setting -> Features -> Phone Lock.
3. Select the phone lock mode in Keypad Lock field.
4. Enter Phone Unlock Pin, Auto Lock Timeout.
5. Enter Emergency numbers if you want.

Volume
You can press the Volume key to adjust the ringer (ring tone) volume when the phone is idle. You can
also press the Volume key to adjust the receiver volume of currently engaged audio devices (handset,
speakerphone or headset) when the phone is in use. And you can adjust sender volume of calls for
different mode (handset, speakerphone or headset) via web user interface.
To adjust the ringer (ring tone) volume:
1. Option 1: To press or on the idle page
2. Option 2: To press or during the call is ringing.

Ring tones are used to indicate incoming calls. You can select different ring tones to distinguish
different accounts registered on your phone, or to distinguish your phone from others. You can also
select different ring tones for different account on 1 phone. The ring tone for account has higher
priority than ring tone for phone.
To select a ring tone for the phone via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Settings -> Basic Settings -> Ring tone.
2. Press or to select the ring tone you want.

You can use headset in priority when headset prior feature is enabled. This feature is especially useful

The built-in phone directory can store the names and phone numbers of your contacts. It can store
up to 1000 local directory number (Contacts + Blacklists ) and 20 groups. You can add, delete groups,
and edit, delete or search for a contact, or simply dial a contact number from the local directory.
To add a contact via phone user interface directly :
1. Press DIR soft key.
2. Press .
3. Press Add soft key.

Blacklist
The built-in phone directory can store names and phone numbers for a blacklist. It can store up to
1000 blacklist numbers (Contacts + Blacklists in total).
To add a blacklist contact via phone user interface

Remote Phone book
The Remote Phonebook feature allows you to access your corporate directory straight remotely from
your phone. You can simply dial a contact number from the corporate directory via URL.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Directory -> Remote Phone Book
3. Fill in the URL in Phone Book URL field and name it in Name field.
4. Click SaveSet.
5. Press Menu -> DIR -> Remote Contacts on phone side.
6. Press Enter soft key.
7. As it shows, the “remote phone book” appears on the screen.

LDAP
LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol which is a client-server protocol for accessing a
directory service.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Directory -> LDAP.
3. Fill in the information of your LDAP server in Sever Address, Port, Base, User Name and Password
field, and you can use default values for other settings:

Boradsoft server has a kind of phone book with special format, IX-C62 can get this phone book from
Broadsoft side.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Directory -> Network Directory.
3. Enter the information for Broadsoft phone book.
4. Click SaveSet.

Call History Management
The IX-C62 IP phone maintains call history lists of Dialed calls, Missed calls, Received calls and
Forwarded calls. Each call history list supports up to 100 entries on LCD. It can store up to 1,500 items
on web user interface.
History record feature is enabled by default. If you don’t want to save the call history, you can disable
the feature.
To disable call history record:
1. Press Menu -> Feature -> History Setting.
2. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select Disabled from the History Record field.
3. Press Save soft key.
To view call history via phone user interface:
1. Press History soft key.
2. Press or , to switch among All Calls, Missed Calls, Received Calls, Dialed Calls and
Forwarded Calls.
3. Press or , to select the desired entry.
4. Press the Option soft key, and then select Detail from the prompt list.
The detailed information of the entry appears on the LCD screen

To view call history via phone user interface:

To redial the last dialed number from your phone:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.

To dial the last received caller number:

Call Mute

You can mute the microphone of the active audio device during an active call so that the other party
cannot hear you. Call mute applies to all modes (Handset, Headset and Speakerphone).
To mute a call:
1. Press during an active call. Mute Icon appears on LCD screen indicates the calls is now
muted.
To un-mute a call:
1. Press again to un-mute the call.

Call Hold/Resume
You can place an active call on hold. Only one active call can be in progress at any time, other calls
can be made and received while placing the original call on hold. When you place a call on hold, your
IP PBX may play music to the other party while waiting.
To place a call on hold:
1. Press Hold soft key during a call. The LCD screen below indicates that the call is on hold.
To resume a held call:
1. Press Resume soft key
DND (Do Not Disturb)
You can use DND to reject incoming calls automatically on the phone.
To enable DND:
1. Press DND soft key, DND Icon appears on the LCD screen.
To disable DND:
1. Press DND soft key again.

Call Forward
You can configure your phone to forward incoming calls to another party through “Static Forwarding”.
You can also forward calls while your phone is ringing through “Dynamic Forwarding”.
Static Forwarding:
There are three types of static forwarding:
Always Forward: Incoming calls are immediately forwarded.
Busy Forward: Incoming calls are immediately forwarded if the phone is busy.
No Answer Forward: Incoming calls are forwarded if not answered after a period of time.
To configure Always Forward via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Features -> Call forward -> Always Forward.
2. Press or , or press info soft key to enable it.
3. Enter the forward to number in FWD to field.
4. (Optional.) Enter the always forward on code or off code respectively in the On Code or Off Code
field.
5. Press Save soft key.
To configure Busy Forward via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu -> Features -> Call forward -> Busy Forward.
2. Press or , or press info soft key to enable it.

2. Enter the forward number.
3. Press , or Send soft key, then the call is forwarded.
Call Transfer
The difference between Call Forward and Call Transfer is whether the incoming calls are answered or
not. Call forward is to forward a call without answering while call transfer is to transfer a call after
answering it.
You can transfer a call to another party in one of three ways:
Blind Transfer: Transfer a call directly to another party without consulting.
Semi-Attended Transfer: Transfer a call when the target phone is ringing.
Attended Transfer: Transfer a call with prior consulting.
To perform a blind transfer:
1. Press Tran soft key during a call.
2. Enter the number you want to transfer the call to.
3. Press Tran soft key complete the transfer.
Then the call is connected to the number to which you are transferring
To perform a attended transfer:
1. Press Tran soft key during a call.
2. Enter the number you want to transfer the call to.
3. Press the Send soft key or .
4. Start the second conversation, then press the Tran soft key, attended transfer is completed now.

To perform a Semi-Attended Transfer:
1. Press the transfer soft key during the conversation, the call is on hold now.
2. Enter the number transfer to, and then press , then you can hear the ringing tone.
3. Press the Transfer soft key before the 2nd call is answered, semi-attended transfer is completed
now.
Call Waiting
You can enable or disable call waiting on the phone. If call waiting is enabled, you can receive 2nd call
while there is already an active call on the phone. Otherwise, 2nd incoming call is automatically
rejected by the phone with a busy message when there is an active call on the phone. You can also
enable or disable the phone to play a warning tone when receiving 2nd call.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Setting -> Feature -> Call waiting.
3. Select “on” in Call Waiting field. And select “on” in Call Waiting Tone field if you want a warning
tone when receiving 2nd call.

4. Click SaveSet.
Conference
You can create a conference with other parties using the phone’s local conference. IX-C62 can
support max 5-way conference, which means 5 people in the phone's local conference. IX-C62 also
supports network conference.
5-way conference:
1. Assuming that call party A and B are in conversation, A wants to bring C, D and E in a conference.
2. A can press Hold soft key, the call is held, B hear music on hold.
3. A can press New Call soft key, enter the number of C, A press Send soft key, now A is calling C.
4. When C answers the call, A press Conf soft key, now A, B, C are in the conference.

5. A can repeat steps 2 to 4 to invite D and E join the conference.
Network Conference:
You can use network conference feature on IX-C62 IP phone to conduct a conference with multiple
participants.
To use this feature, contact your PBX administrator or ITSP for the network conference URI in
advance.
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Account -> Advanced.
3. Select the desired account in Account filed
4. Select Network in Conference Type field and enter Conference URI from your PBX system or ITSP.
5. Assuming that call party A and B are in conversation, A wants to bring C, D and E in a conference.
6. A can press Hold soft key, the call is held, B hear music on hold.
7. A can press New Call soft key, enter the number of C, A press Send soft key, now A is calling C.
8. When C answers the call, A press Conf soft key, now A, B, C are in the conference.
9. A can repeat steps 6 to 8 to invite D and E join the conference.

Call Park
You can use call park feature to place a call on hold, and then retrieve the call from another phone in
the system (for example, a phone in another office or conference room). You can park an active call
by pressing the call park key on the phone.
To configure a call park key:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Function Keys -> Memory Key.
3. Select Call Park in Type field to configure it as a call park key and enter call park code from your
PBX system or ITSP
4. Click SaveSet.
To use call park:
1. User on phone A places a call to phone B.
2. User on phone A wants to take the call in a conference room for privacy, and so press the call park
key on phone A.

3. User on phone A walks to an available conference room where the phone is designated as phone C.
The user dials the call park retrieve code to retrieve the parked call.
The system establishes call between phone C and B.
Note:
1. The call park code and call park retrieve code are predefined on the system server.You can contact
your PBX administrator or ITSP for more information.
2. If the parked call is not retrieved within a period of time assigned by the system, the phone
performing call park will receive a call back.
3. The call park key works for each account separately.
Call Pickup
You can use call pickup to answer someone else’s incoming call on your phone. The IX-C62 IP phone
supports direct call pickup and group call pickup.
Direct call pickup is used for picking up a call that is ringing at a target phone number. Group call
pickup is used for picking up a call that is ringing at any phone number in a certain pickup group.
For the code of directed call pickup and group call pickup , you can contact your PBX administrator or
ITSP for more information.
To configure a Direct Call Pickup key:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Function Keys -> Memory Key.
3. Select Direct Pickup in Type field to configure it as a direct call pick key and enter direct call park
code + target number from your PBX system or ITSP in Value field.
For example, we wants to pickup the incoming calls to extension 311, the direct call park code in PBX
system is *04, so we can set value *04311.

4. Click SaveSet. User on the phone can press Memory Key 4 to pickup the calls to extension 311.
To configure a Group Call Pickup key:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Function Keys -> Memory Key.
3. Select Group Pickup in Type field to configure it as a group call pick key and enter group call park
code from your PBX system or ITSP in Value field.
For example, we wants to pickup the incoming calls to extension 311, the direct call park code in PBX
is *4.
4. Click SaveSet. User on the phone can press Memory Key 5 to pickup the calls to extensions in a
specified call pickup in PBX system..

Anonymous Call
You can use anonymous call to block your identify and phone number from appearing to the called
party when you call someone. For example, you want to call to consult some of the services, but
don’t want to be harassed. Anonymous call is configurable for each account on IX-C62 in advance.
IX-C62 sends “Anoymous” as caller ID when anonymous call is enabled.
To enable anonymous call via phone user Interface:
1. Press Menu -> Features -> Anonymous Call.
2. Select desired account and press Enter soft key.
3. Press or , or the Switch soft key to enable/disable anonymous call in Anonymous Call field.
4. Press Save soft key.
To enable anonymous call via web user Interface:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Account -> Advanced.

Anonymous Call Rejection
You can use anonymous call rejection to reject incoming calls from anonymous callers. It is disabled
by default.

1. Press Menu -> Features -> Anonymous Call.
2. Select desired account and press Enter soft key.
3. Press or , or the Switch soft key to enable/disable anonymous call in Rejection
field.

You can dial a hotline number immediately upon lifting the handset, pressing the Speakerphone key
or the line key. You can also configure a delay, and then the phone will dial out the hotline number
automatically after the designated period of time.

BLF
You can use BLF to monitor a specific line for status changes on the phone. For example, you can
configure a BLF key on the phone to monitor the status of a friend’s line (busy or idle). The BLF key
LED illuminates solid red when the friend’s line is in use. For more information on BLF key LED
indicators, refer to LED Instructions on page 8.
To configure a BLF key via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu –> Features -> Function Keys.
2. Select desired Line Key or Memory Key.
3. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select BLF from the Type field.
4. Enter the phone number or extension you want to monitor in the Value field.

BLF List
You can use the BLF List feature to monitor a list of users defined by your PBX administrator. For
example, your PBX administrator enables BLF List, and creates a BLF List URI (e.g.,
BLFList@example.com) including a list of user1, user2 on the server. The BLF List keys on the IP phone
can present the status of user1 and user2. The key LEDs illuminate either flashing or solid depending
on the status of those users. For more BLF List key LED indicators, refer to LED Instructions on page 8.
To configure BLF list URL:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Account -> Advanced.
3. Select the desired account in Account filed
4. Enter BLF list URI from your PBX system.
5. Click SaveSet.
To configure a BLF list key via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu –> Features -> Function Keys.

Call Recording
You can record calls by pressing a record key on the phone. The IX-C62 IP phone supports record and
URL record.
Two ways of call recording:
Record: The phone sends SIP INFO message containing a specific header “Record: on/off” to
trigger a recording.
URL Record: The phone sends HTTP URL request to trigger a recording. Contact your system
administrator for the predefined URL.
To configure a record key via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu –> Features -> Function Keys.
2. Select desired Line Key or Memory Key.
3. Press or , or the Switch soft key to select Record from the Type field.
4. Press Save soft key.
To configure a record key via web user interface:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Function Keys .

Hot Desking
Hot desking originates from the definition of being the temporary physical occupant of a work station
or surface by a particular employee. A primary motivation for hot desking is cost reduction. This
feature is regularly used in places where not all the employees are in the office at the same time, or
not in the office for very long, which means that actual personal offices would be often vacant,
consuming valuable space and resources.
You can use hot desking on the IX-C62 IP phone to log out of existing accounts and then log into a
new account. As a result, many users can share the phone resource at different times. To use this
feature, you need to configure a hot desking key in advance.
Note:
Hot desking is not available on all servers. Contact your server administrator for more information.
To configure a hot desking key via phone user interface:
1. Press Menu –> Features -> Function Keys.
2. Select desired Line Key or Memory Key.

4. (Optional.) Enter value in Value field as a label of the HotDesking.

4. Select Hot Desking in Type field.

To use hot desking:
1. Press the hot desking key when the phone is idle. The LCD screen prompts the following warning:

immediately.

Intercom
Intercom is a useful feature in an office environment to quickly connect with the operator or the
secretary. You can press the intercom key to automatically connect with a preconfigured target
extension for outgoing intercom calls, and the target extension will automatically answer incoming
intercom calls by default.
Note:
Intercom is not available on all servers. Contact your server administrator for more information.
Outgoing Intercom Calls:
To configure an intercom key via phone user interface:

Incoming Intercom Calls:
The IX-C62 IP phone supports automatically to answer an incoming intercom call by default when the
phone is idle.
When there is already an active call on the phone, there will be a prompt on LCD, you can choose to
answer or reject it.
To disable/enable incoming intercom calls:
1. Login the web GUI of IP phone.
2. Click on Account -> Advanced.
3. Select the desired account in Account filed
4. Select “No” or “Yes” in the Allow Auto Answer by Call-info field.
