MMAC-PLUS 6 SECURITY BAR ADDENDUM
The MMAC-Plus 6 chassis is equipped with two security bars that prevent the unauthorized removal of the interface
modules. This addendum provides instructions to install the MMAC-Plus 6 security bars.
Only qualified service personnel should perform the following procedures.
To install the MMAC-Plus 6 security bars, a flat blade screwdriver is needed.
INSTALLING THE SECURITY BARS
The two security bars supplied with the MMAC-Plus 6 chassis must be installed after all modules are in place. The two
security bars are identical. One security bar is installed across the top of the modules and the other is installed across
the bottom of the modules. The following steps should be performed to install the security bars.
1. To install the bottom security bar, orient the security bar with the securing tabs facing down and toward the chassis
as shown in Figure 1. Make sure that the heads of the screws are facing outward.
2. Lower the security bar behind the plastic tabs on the modules so that the holes in the securing tabs on the security
bar are aligned with the join in the beveled corners of the interface modules as shown in Figure 2.
3. Secure the bottom security bar to the chassis with the screws that are built into the security bar assembly.
4. To install the top security bar, orient the bar with the securing tabs facing up and toward the chassis.
5. Slide the security bar up, so that the holes of the securing tabs are aligned with the join in the beveled corners of the
interface modules.
6. Secure the top security bar to the chassis with the screws that are built into the security bar assembly.

REMOVING SECURITY BARS
The security bars should remain in place while the MMAC-Plus 6 chassis is operating.
Remove the security bars by loosening the two screws which hold each bar in place. Slide the security bars out from
behind the interface module plastic tabs. Be sure to remove both security bars before attempting to remove any
interface modules from the chassis. Set the security bars aside for re-installation.
