The Class 1 laser transceivers use an optical feedback loop to maintain Class 1 operation limits. This
control loo p elimina te s the need for main ten ance check s or adjust men ts. The out p ut is fac to ry set , and
does not allow any user adjustment. Class 1 laser transceivers comply with the following safety
standards:
• 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (FDA).
• IEC Publicatio n 825 (Interna tio nal Electrote c hnica l Co mmi ssion ).
• CENELEC EN 60825 (European Co mmittee for Electrotechnical Standardization).
When operating within their performance limitations, laser transceiver output meets the Class 1
accessible emiss ion limit of all three standard s . Class 1 levels of laser radiation are not considered
hazardous.

CAUTI ONAn odd number of crossovers (preferably one)
must be maintained bet ween devices so that
the transmit port of one de vice is connected t o
the receive port of the other device and vice
versa.
If the fiber optic cable being used has SC style
connectors that do not resemble MIC style
connectors, or has SC connectors on one end
and a differ ent type on the other, such as ST
connectors, ensure that the proper crossing
over occurs.
ACHTUNGEine ungerade Zahl von Überkr euzu ngsstel len

inversement.

asegúrese de que se realice el cruce
adecuado.
CAUTI ONDo not touch the ends of the fiber optic
strands, and do not let the ends come in
contact with dust, di rt, or other contaminants.
Contamination of the ends caus es problems in
data transmissions. If the ends become
contaminated, b low t he surfaces with a canned
duster. A fiber port cleaning swab saturated
with optical-grade isopropyl alcohol may also
be used to clean the ends.
ACHTUNGDas Ende an beiden Seiten des

autre contaminant . La contamination de ces
extrémités cause des problèmes lors de la
transmission des données. Si ces extrémités
sont contaminées, nettoyez leur surface à
l'aide d'un nett oyant adéquat. V ous pouvez
également utiliser une éponge imbibée
d'isopropanol pour les nettoyer.
