Color Bar Generator.

Congratulations on your purchase of the Burst Electronics Model
BG-2 Black Burst or the BG -2cb Black Burst and Color Bar
generator. The BG-2 series video generator continues our line of
low cost, high quality video synchronization generators for the
broadcast professional.

Key features include two (2) synchronous composite video

outputs, NTSC video standard. The BG -2cb operates with a
120Vac 60Hz/240Vac 50Hz - 5Vdc center positive power supply
(included with each unit) with a current draw less than 200mAdc.

BG-2cb
The BG-2cb is a more versatile device. Key featur es include

synchronous composite video outputs. This model can be
switched between NTSC or PAL, and selection between Black
Burst and Full Field Color Bars. The BG-2cb operates with a
120Vac 60Hz/240Vac 50Hz - 5Vdc center positive power supply
(included with each unit) with a current draw less than 200mAdc.

Operation
The BG-2 is simple to use. Connect the unit to the included

5Vdc power supply and push the Power switch up. The green
LED on the front of the unit lights up, indicating the BG-2 has
power. The composite video output connectors are immediately
active when the BG-2 is powered.

The BG-2cb is just as simple to use. Connect the unit to the
included 5Vdc power supply and push the Power switch up. The
green LED on the front of the unit lights up, indicating the BG­2cb has power. The composite video output connectors are
immediately active when the BG-2cb is powered. The “Up: Bars
Dn: Black” switch allows the end -user to select either Full Field
Color Bars (up) or Black Burst (down). An internal jumper
labeled SW2 will allow the end -user to select either NTSC
(center to interior of unit) or PAL (center to exterior of unit).

Optional Add -on Equipment includes either balanced (miniXLR
connector) or unbalanced (RCA connector) 1kHz audio tone
(Contact Burst Electronics for pricing and availability).

Video Outputs – The BG -2 and BG -2cb come standard with
BNC connectors for compos ite video. If Y/C video is required,
we can convert one or both connectors to MiniDIN (typical S­Video) connectors.
