1 ALLGEMEINE HINWEISE
Bitte beachten Sie die Hinweise dieser Betriebsanleitung sowie die Einsatzbedingungen und zulässigen Daten, die in den Datenblättern des Top
Control
ON/OFF sowie des jeweiligen pneumatisch betätigten Ventils spezifiziert sind,
damit das Gerät einwandfrei funktioniert und lange einsatzfähig bleibt:
• Halten Sie sich bei der Einsatzplanung und dem Betrieb des Gerätes an die
allgemeinen Regeln der Technik!
• Installation und Wartungsarbeiten dürfen nur durch Fachpersonal und mit
geeignetem Werkzeug erfolgen!
• Beachten Sie die geltenden Unfallverhütungs- und Sicherheitsbestimmungen
für elektrische Geräte während des Betriebs und der Wartung des Gerätes!
• Schalten Sie vor Eingriffen in das System in jedem Fall die Spannung ab!

1.1 Lieferumfang
Überzeugen Sie sich unmittelbar nach Erhalt der Sendung, daß der Inhalt nicht
beschädigt ist und mit dem auf dem beigelegten Packzettel angegebenen
Lieferumfang übereinstimmt. Generell besteht dieser aus:

Der Top
Control
ON/OFF Typ 8633 dient zur Ansteuerung pneumatisch betätigter Prozeßventile. Er ist mit verschiedenen Ventiltypen aus dem BürkertProzeßventil-Programm kombinierbar (siehe Datenblätter der Typen 2000,
2001, 2002, 2012, 2030, 2031, 2031K, 2652, 2655 und 2658). Top
Control
und
Prozeßventil sind durch einen Adapter miteinander verbunden. So entsteht ein
integriertes System aus Rückmeldung, Ansteuerung und Ventilfunktion.
Es sind verschiedene elektrische und pneumatische Anschlußvarianten verfügbar.

Die Abmessungen des Top

ON/OFF und der verschiedenen Komplett-
gerätevarianten bestehend aus Top
Control
ON/OFF, pneumatischem Antrieb
und Ventil sind den jeweiligen Datenblättern zu entnehmen.
Abmessungen und Gewindearten entnehmen Sie dem Datenblatt des Prozeßventils.
3.1 Installation des Ventils
3.2.1 Allgemeine Hinweise
Die Montage des TopControls ON/OFF Typ 8633 auf den Ventilantr ieb und die
Einstellung der Endschalterschaltpunkte geschieht bei diesem Gerät in einem
Zuge und ist bei mechanischen und induktiven Endschaltern gleich.
Zur Verbindung des TopControl mit dem Ventilantrieb wird ein Zubehörset benötigt. Es enthält alle Teile, die zur mechanischen und pneumatischen Kopplung
notwendig sind. Je nach Größe des Ventilantriebes sind Zubehörsets mit
Schläuchen der richtigen Länge erhältlich.
Die Bestell-Nummern der Sets sind im technischen Datenblatt aufgeführt.

3.2.2 Vorgehensweise (Erstg eräteinstallation)
Voraussetzung: Das Ventil mit Antrieb, das richtige Zubehörset (siehe Daten-
blatt) und der TopControl ON/OFF liegen vor.
➔
Schrauben Sie den Klarsichtdeckel für die Stellungsanzeige am Ventilantrieb
ab.
➔
Schrauben sie im Inneren des Ventilantriebs das orange/gelbe Signalteil zur
Stellungsanzeige mit einem Innensechskantschlüssel ab.
➔
Verschrauben Sie die Schaltspindel aus dem Zubehörset von Hand (Schaltspindel mit Messing-Führungsteil) mit dem Kunststoffteil an die Kolbenstange des Ventilantriebes, ziehen Sie diese jedoch zunächst noch nicht fest.

Schrauben Sie das (Messing-) Führungsstück in den Deckel des Ventilantriebes mit der Hand ein, ziehen Sie es ebenfalls zunächst noch nicht fest.
➔
Ziehen Sie das (Messing-) Führungsstück SW 27 mit dem Drehmoment
8,0 Nm an.
➔
Ziehen Sie die Schaltspindel an der Kolbenstange des Antriebes fest. Dazu
ist an der Spindelseite ein Schlitz angebracht (Drehmoment = 1,0 Nm).
➔
Schieben Sie die beiden mitgelieferten Schaltnocken auf die Schaltspindel
(Durchmesser 5 mm). Schieben Sie die erste Nocke ganz bis zum
Führungsstück (Messing-Teil) und die zweite Nocke nur wenig über das
obere Ende der Schaltspindel (ca. 5 bis max. 10 mm).
➔
Setzen Sie das TopControl-Gehäuse auf. Die Schaltspindel muß in die
mittig liegende, von oben durch die Klarsichthaube sichtbare Bohrung des
Top
Control
-Gehäuses geführt werden.
Achten Sie bei der Montage von Geräten mit mechanischen
Endschaltern darauf, daß diese durch die Schaltspindel, z.B. durch
schräges Einführen, nicht beschädigt werden!
Achten Sie auch darauf, dass die beiden zur Befestigung des
To p
Control
vorhandenen Gewindewstifte SW2 nicht in die
Befestigungsöffnung an der Gehäuseunterseite hineinragen. Die
Spitzen der Gewindestifte könnten den O-Ring auf dem MessingFührungsstück beschädigen.
Zum Aufsetzen des Top
Control
-Gehäuses muß Kraft aufgewendet werden,
da im Zuge der Top
Control
-Montage die Justierung der oberen Schaltnocke
erfolgt (siehe "Einstellung der Endschaltpunkte").
➔
Drücken Sie das Top
Control
-Gehäuse ganz bis zum Antrieb herunter und
richten Sie es durch Drehen in die gewünschte Position aus. Achten Sie
darauf, dass die pneumatischen Anschlüsse des Top
Control
und die des
Ventilantriebes vorzugsweise vertikal übereinander liegen, da bei einer
anderen Positionierung längere Schläuche erforderlich werden können, als
im Zubehör mitgeliefert werden.
➔
Schrauben Sie die Schlauch-Steckverbindungen an den Top
Control
und
den Ventilantrieb.
➔
Stellen Sie mit den im Zubehörsatz mitgelieferten Schläuchen die pneumatische Verbindung zwischen Top
Control
und Ventilantrieb her.
➔
Fixieren Sie anschließend das Top
Control
-Gehäuse durch mäßiges
Festziehen der zwei Gewindestifte mit Innensechskant SW2 (max. 0,4 Nm)
an der Gehäuse-Unterseite (siehe Bild 2).

Führen Sie die Schaltspindel beim Aufsetzen des Top
Control
auf das am
Prozeßventil befestigte Führungsstück (aus dem Zubehörsatz) durch die
runde Öffnung in der Mitte unter der Klarsichthaube.
➔
Drücken Sie das ganze Gehäuse bis zum Anschlag fest nach unten.
Dabei wird die obere Nocke automatisch an die richtige Stelle geschoben. Eine Nachjustierung ist nicht erforderlich. Voraussetzung für die richtige
Einstellung ist jedoch, dass sich die obere Nocke beim Aufsetzen des
Top
Control
am äußersten Ende der Spindel befindet. Die Einstellung einer
Zwischenstellung ist nicht möglich.
3.2.3 Einstellen der Endschaltpunkte
Beim Top
Control
Typ 8633 sind die Endschalter fest am Gehäuse angebracht.
Die Einstellung der Schaltpunkte erfolgt durch Verschieben von zwei auf der
Schaltspindel klemmenden Nocken. Die Klemmung ist so gestaltet, dass die
Nocken "von Hand" verschieblich sind. Eine versehentliche Dejustierung der
Nocken ist jedoch ausgeschlossen.
3.2.3.1 Einstellen des oberen Schaltpunktes
3.2.3.2 Einstellen des unteren Schaltpunktes
a) Steuerfunktion A
Handelt es sich um einen Ventilantrieb, dessen Kolben sich in Ruhestellung
"unten" befindet, so ergibt sich die richtige Nockenposition bereits durch
das Aufschieben der ersten Nocke bis zum Führungsstück (Anschlag).
b) Steuerfunktion B
Bei einem Prozeßventilantrieb, dessen Kolben sich in Ruhestellung "oben"
befindet, wird die richtige Nockenposition erst nach dem ersten Schalten
des Prozeßventils erreicht.
c) Steuerfunktion I
Bei einem doppeltwirkenden Ventilantrieb ohne definier te Ruhestellung wird
wie bei Antrieben mit der Steuerfunktion B die richtige Nockenposition nach
dem ersten Schaltzyklus erreicht.

3.3 Drehen des Top

Falls nach Einbau des Ventils die Anzeige-LED's des Top
Control
ON/OFF Typ
8633 schlecht einsehbar sind oder die Anschlußkabel- bzw. Schlauchmontage
schwierig ist, kann der Top
Control
ON/OFF gegenüber dem pneumatischen
Antrieb verdreht werden.
Gehen Sie dabei wie folgt vor:

Trennen Sie das Gerät zuerst von der elektrischen und pneumatischen
Versorgung!
➔
Lösen Sie die fluidische Verbindung zwischen dem Top
Control
ON/OFF
und dem pneumatischen Antrieb.
➔
Lösen Sie die seitlich im Gehäuse versenkten Gewindestifte
(Innensechskant SW2) (siehe Bild 2).
➔
Drehen Sie den Top
Control
ON/OFF ohne Anheben in die gewünschte
Stellung.
➔
Ziehen Sie die Gewindestifte mit mäßigem Drehmoment wieder an
(0,2 ... 0,4 Nm).
➔
Stellen Sie die fluidischen Verbindungen zwischen dem Top
Control
ON/OFF
und dem pneumatischen Antrieb wieder her. Verwenden Sie bei Bedarf
längere Schläuche.

3.4 Fluidischer Anschluß des Top

3.5 Öffnen des Gehäuses

Legen Sie den Versorgungsdruck an den Druckanschluß 1/P (siehe Bild 1)
(2..10 bar; Instrumentenluft, öl-, wasser- und staubfrei).
Die Steuerluft wird entsprechend der Steuerfunktion des Prozeßventils angeschlossen:

Öffnen Sie das Gerät lediglich zum Anschluß bzw. zur Überprüfung des
elektrischen Anschlusses am Seitendeckel mit der elektrischen
Kontaktierungsmöglich-keit. An anderen Stellen darf das Gerät in keinem
Fall geöffnet werden.

3.6 Elektrischer Anschluß
Für die elektrische Kontaktierung des Top
Control
ON/OFF Typ 8633 steht eine
PG11- Kabeldurchführung zur Verfügung.
Für Geräte, die mit Schutzkleinspannung arbeiten (≤ 48 V), ist eine Ausführung
mit Multipol-Anschluß in Vorbereitung.
Für die geplante Version mit AS-Interface sind PG11- und Multipolanschluß
vorgesehen.

1 GENERAL INFORMATION
To ensure that the device functions correctly and will have a long service life,
please comply with the information in these operating instructions as well as
the operating conditions and the permissible ranges that are specified in the
data sheets of Top
Control
ON/OFF and the corresponding pneumatically
operated valve:
• When planning the application of the device, and during its operation,
observe the general technical rules!
• Installation and maintenance work must only be carried out by specialist
staff using the correct tools!
• Observe the relevant accident prevention and safety regulations applicable
for electrical equipment throughout the operation and maintenance of the
device!
• Always switch off the electrical power supply before carrying out any work
on the system!
• Take suitable measures to prevent unintentional operation or impermissible
impairment!
• Following an interruption of the electrical or pneumatic supply, always
ensure a defined and controlled restart of the process!

1.1 Scope of delivery
Immediately after receiving the shipment, ensure that the contents are

2 DESIGN AND FUNCTION OF THE TOP
CONTROL
ON/OFF
The Top
Control
ON/OFF is designed for the operation of pneumatically
actuated process valves. It can be combined with various types of valve from
the Bürkert process valve range (see the data sheets for the types 2000,
2001, 2002, 2012, 2030, 2031, 2031K, 2652, 2655 and 2658). The Top
Control
and the process valve are connected together using an adapter. An integrated
system consisting of feedback, control and valve function is thereby created.
Various electrical and pneumatic connection variants are available.

Using solenoid valves with the rocker principle:
1 x 3/2 way control valve with single-acting valve drive
2 x 32-way control valve with double-acting valve drive
• Electrical interface:

- Multipol round connector, 12-pole;
- For bus drives (AS interface), the standard 4-pole M12 round
connectors for these drives or PG ducts with connection terminals are
used (AS-i control not available at the moment).

3 INSTALLATION
3.2 Installation of the TopControl ON/OFF Type 8633 onto
the valve drive
The dimensions of the Top
Control
ON/OFF and the various complete unit
variants consisting of TopControl ON/OFF, pneumatic drive and valve can be
found in the corresponding data sheets.
The dimensions and thread types can be found in the data sheet of the
process valve.
3.1 Installation of the valve
3.2.1 General Notes
The installation of the Top
Control
ON/OFF Type 8633 onto the valve drive and
setting up the switching points of the limit switches is carried out in a single
sequence for this unit, and is the same for the mechanical and the inductive
variants.
An accessory set is necessary for connecting the Top
Control
to the valve
drive. This contains all the components that are necessary for the mechanical
and pneumatic connections. The accessory sets are available with hoses of
the necessary lengths, corresponding to the size of the valve drive.
The order numbers of the sets are listed in the technical data sheet.

3.2.2 Procedure (Initial installation of the unit)
Preconditions: The valve with its drive, the correct accessory set (see data
sheet) and the Top
Control
ON/OFF must be available.
➔
Screw off the see-through cover of the position display on the valve drive.
➔
Inside the valve drive, screw off the orange/yellow signal component of the
position display using an Allen key.
➔
Screw the switch spindle from the accessory set ( switch spindle with
brass guide piece) together with the plastic component on the piston rod of
the valve drive by hand, without fully tightening it at the moment.

➔
Screw the (brass) guide piece into the cover of the valve drive by hand,
without fully tightening it at the moment.
➔
Tighten the SW 27 (brass) guide piece with a torque of 8.0 Nm.
➔
Tighten the switch spindle onto the piston rod of the drive. A slot is provided
on the side of the spindle for this purpose (torque = 1.0 Nm).
➔
Push the two supplied switching cams onto the switch spindle (Diameter 5
mm). Push the first cam right up to the guide piece (brass part) and the
second cam only a little beyond the upper end of the switch spindle
(approx. 5 to max. 10 mm).
➔
Fit the Top
Control
housing. The switch spindle must be inserted from above
into the central bore of the Top
Control
housing, which can be seen through
the see-through cover.
When installing units with mechanical limit switches, ensure that the
latter will not be damaged by the switch spindle, for example, by
being inserted at an angle!
Also ensure that the two threaded SW2 pins used to secure the

Control
do not protrude into the fixing opening on the lower side
of the housing. The tips of the threaded pins could damage the Oring on the brass guide component.
Force has to be used in fitting the Top
Control
housing, as the adjustment of
the ”upper” switching cam takes place during the installation of the
TopControl (see ”Adjusting the switch points of the limit switches”).
➔
Press the Top
Control
housing completely down to the drive and align it in
the desired position by turning. Note that it is preferable to have the
pneumatic connections of the Top
Control
and those of the valve drive
vertically above each other, as longer hoses than those provided as
accessories would be required for any other position.
➔
Screw the hose connections onto the Top
Control
and the valve drive.
➔
Set up the pneumatic connection between the Top
Control
and the valve
drive using the hoses provided in the accessory set.
➔
Then secure the Top
Control
housing onto the valve drive by moderately
tightening the two threaded rods using an SW2 Allen key (max. 0.4 Nm).
(See Fig. 2).

fixed to the process valve, guide the switch spindle through the round
opening in the centre of the see-through cover
and
➔
Press the complete housing firmly down until it meets the stop.
In this way, the upper cam will be automatically pushed to the correct
position. A re-adjustment is not necessary. The precondition for the correct
position is, however, that the upper cam is located at the outermost end of the
spindle when the Top
Control
is fitted. The setting of a new inter mediate position
is not possible.
3.2.3 Adjustment of the Switching Points of the Limit
Switches
In the Top
Control
Type 8633, the limit switches are firmly fixed to the housing.
The setting of the switch points is carried out by moving two of the cams
clamped on the switch spindle. The clamp is designed so that the cams can be
moved ”by hand”. An unintentional adjustment of the cams is ruled out,
however.
3.2.3.1 Adjustment of the upper switching point
3.2.3.2 Adjustment of the lower switching point
a) Control function A
In the case of a valve drive whose piston is at the ”lower” rest position, the
correct cam position is already given by pushing the first cam up to the
guide piece (stop).
b) Control function B
In the case of a process valve drive whose piston is at the ”upper” rest
position, the correct cam position will only be reached after the process
valve switched for the first time.
c) Control function I
In the case of a double-acting valve drive without a defined rest position,
the correct cam position will be reached after the first switching cycle, as
for control function B.

3.3 Turning the Top
Control
ON/OFF
If the display LEDs of the Top
Control
ON/OFF Type 8633 are not easy to see
after the installation of the valve, or the connecting cable or the installation of
the hoses is difficult, the Top
Control
ON/OFF can be turned in relation to the
pneumatic drive.
Proceed as follows:
➔ First disconnect the unit from the electrical and pneumatic supplies!
➔ Undo the fluid connections between the TopControl ON/OFF and the
pneumatic drive.
➔ Undo the threaded pins inset into the side of the housing using an SW 2
Allen key (see Fig. 2).
➔ Turn the Top
Control
ON/OFF to the desired position without lifting.
➔ Re-tighten the threaded pins with a moderate torque (0.2 - 0.4 Nm).
➔ Refit the fluid connections between the Top
Control
ON/OFF and the
pneumatic drive. Use longer hoses where necessary.

3.5 Opening the housing
➔
Apply the supply pressure to the pressure connection 1/P (see Fig. 1)
(2 … 10 bar, instrument air, free of oil, water and dust).
➔
Only open the unit when making or checking the electrical connections on
the side cover with the possibility of making electrical connections
electrical. Never open the other side of the unit under any circumstances.
The control air will be connected according to the control function of the valve:
The waste air will escape via the silencer 3/R (see Fig. 1).
Please also comply with the instructions in the operating instructions and in the
data sheet of the valve!

A PG11 cable duct is available for the electrical connections to the Top

ON/OFF Type 8633.
For units that work with protective low voltage ( ≤ 48 V), a model with a Multipol
connection is in preparation.
PG11 and Multipol connections will be provided in the planned version with the
AS interface.
