Setting up a WLAR-L11G-L with a Mac and AirPort Card w/ 0S9.x
1) Using the supplied ethernet cable, plug the ethernet output from your CATV/DSL modem to the WAN input of the Buffalo WLAR-L11/G-L. (Picture 1) Reference your CATV/DSL modem instructions to determine the correct ethernet port.

Adapter connect the Adapter to a 120V AC supply and to the DC In. (Picture 1)

3) Go to the Apple Icon in the top left corner of your Desktop screen. Scroll down to "Control Panels", then to "TCP/IP" and select. (Picture 2)
Go to "Connect Via:" and select "AirPort". Go to "Configure" and select "Using DHCP Server". Close the window and select "Save".

4) Go to the Apple icon in the top left corner of your Desktop screen. Scroll down to "Control Panels, then to "AppleTalk” and select.
Go to "Connect via" and select "AirPort". (Picture 3) Close the window and select "Save".

5) Go to the Apple icon in the top left corner of your Desktop screen. Scroll down to "AirPort" and select. In the "Settings" section, verify that "AirPort: On" is displayed. If it isn't displayed, select the
"Turn AirPort On" button. (Picture 4)
In the "AirPort Network" section, go to "Choose network". Click on the up/down symbols and select the AirStation's ESS-ID. This will be a 6-digit alphanumeric, followed by the word "GROUP".
Close your AirPort Control Panel window.

3) Select “Apple” (top left-hand corner). Select “System Preferences”. Select “Network”. (Picture 2)

5) There are four tabs under “Configure” or "Show".

6) Next to “Preferred Network”, there is a box to select the ESS-ID oftheAlrStatlon. Verity the AirStation’s ESS-ID Is showing. This will be a 6-digit alpha-numeric number, followed by the word "GROUP" in upper case letters.
7) Select the “TCP/IP” tab. (Picture 5)
Select Configure: "Using DHCP". Click once on the "Apply Now" button.

8) Close the Network window. Open your Internet browser and begin surfing!

Setting up WEP with OS9.X and an Apple AirPort Card
1) First, use the "Setting Up a WI_AR-L11G-L with a Mac and AirPort
Card w/ 0S9.X" Guide to establish communication with your AirStation.
2) Open your Internet Browser and type "192.168.0.1" as the URL. Press your "return" key. The AirStation firmware will open in your browser window.

3) Select "Wireless LAN" on the left side of the window. (Picture 2)

4) Select "ASCII" or "HEX". Input your WEP code Into the two boxes beside "Encryption Code (WEP)". Warning: If you have a 40-bit AirPort card, you must not input a 128-bit code. Consult your AirPort card Documentation if you don't know. 40-bit WEP: ASCII • input a five digit code. You can use any alphanumeric characters and the underscore "_" sign. ASCII codes are case sensitive. HEX - input a ten digit code. Use any numeral plus the letters A through F. HEX codes are not case sensitive. 128-bit WEP: ASCII - Input a 13 digit code. You can use any alphanumeric characters and the underscore "_" sign. ASCII codes are case sensitive. HEX - Input a 26 digit code. Use any numeral plus the letters A through F. 5) Select "Set”. (Picture 4) After selecting "Set”, you won't be able to communicate with the AirStation until you input your WEP code in the Apple AirPort software. Close your browser.

9) Input your WEP code Into the box beside "Password:”. (Pictured) For ASCII, input the WEP code exactly as typed in the AirStation. For Hex, type "$” first, then input the WEP code exactly as typed in the AirStation, with no spaces between the ”$" and the code. Select the ”OK" button.
The selected AirPort network requires a
password to join.

8) Beside "Show", select "AirPort". Select the "AirPort" tab. (Picture 6) Reselect your ESS-ID for your AirStation. Beside "Network Password", input your WEP code. For ASCII, input the code exactly as you typed it in the AirStation firmware. For HEX, type "$" as the first character, then input the code exactly as you typed it in the AirStation firmware with no spaces between the
