Safety Instructions
Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible performance from your BUFFALO product.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Buffalo agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
• Please ensure that the tap is screwed fully on before use.
• Buffalo recommend that this product is connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).
• Buffalo recommend that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Operation Model shown: JA861
Do not install the appliance in an area where a water jet could be used.
Place the appliance in a horizontal position. Before using for the first time, clean the interior
with warm water then dry well.
1. Remove the appliance from the packaging. Make sure that all protective plastic film and plastic coatings are thoroughly removed from all surfaces.
2. Ensure the Temperature Control knob is set to ‘OFF’.
3. Remove the lid and fill the appliance to at least half of its capacity.
4. Replace the lid.
5. Connect to the mains power supply.
6. Set the Temperature Control knob to the required temperature setting. The ‘BOIL’ indicator light illuminates and the appliance begins to heat water.
7. When the water has reached the set temperature the ‘BOIL’ Indicator light turns off and the ‘KEEP WARM’ indicator light illuminates.

WARNING: Reduce the set temperature if the water begins to boil. DO NOT allow the water to boil constantly.
Note: Once the water temperature drops 5-10ºC then the appliance will reheat the water. WARNING: If the Temperature Control Knob is set to or close to ‘HIGH’ then the appliance
will constantly heat the water until knob is turned to ‘OFF” or the temperature is reduced.

Emptying the Appliance
Drain the appliance by using the tap to empty.
Do not store water in the appliance for more than 2 days as it will cause scale.

Thermal Cut-Out Reset
This appliance is fitted with a Thermal Cut-Out safety feature. Should the temperature exceed safe levels the appliance will automatically cut power. The Safety Cut-out switch is located on the underside of the appliance.
To reset the appliance:
1. Empty the appliance and allow to cool.
2. Press the reset button until it clicks.
WARNING: Ensure the appliance has cooled down and is empty before resetting the switch, as it may need to be tipped slightly to gain access to the switch.
3. The appliance is now reset and can be used as normal.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
• Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning and descaling.
• Let the appliance cool down then empty.
• Do not use jet/pressure washers to clean the appliance.
• Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
• Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Descaling
For the best water quality, Buffalo recommend that a water filter is installed to the mains water supply, particularly in hard water areas. Doing so will reduce the build up of limescale and contaminants in the water tank thus maintaining energy efficiency and prolonging the life of the appliance.
To de-scale the appliance:
1. Pour a solution of de-scaler and water into the appliance.
2. Brush the interior gently with a soft bristled brush.
3. Discard the solution collected in the jug.
4. Fill the appliance with clean water and turn back On to flush out the system. Flush out the system thoroughly to remove any de-scaler residue.
5. The appliance is now ready for use.
Note: Use a suitable de-scaler and always follow the instructions on the container.
BUFFALO recommend that this appliance is de-scaled every 3 months or more often in hard water areas.
IMPORTANT: Failure to de-scale or maintain will invalidate your guarantee.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.
The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
• Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
• Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
• Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.

Bediening Getoond model: JA861
Installeer het apparaat niet in een ruimte waar een waterstraal kan worden gebruikt.
Zet het apparaat in een horizontale positie. Maak voor het eerste gebruik de binnenkant
schoon met warm water.
1. Haal het apparaat uit de verpakking. Controleer of al het beschermingsfolie- en plastic lagen grondig van alle oppervlakken zijn verwijderd.
2. Controleer of de temperatuurknop op ‘OFF’ staat.
3. Verwijder de deksel en vul het apparaat minimaal tot aan de helft van de capaciteit.
4. Plaats opnieuw de deksel.
5. Verbind met de voeding van het elektriciteitsnet.
6. Stel de Regeltoets van de Temperatuur in op de vereiste temperatuurinstelling. Het ‘BOIL’ indicatorlicht licht op en het toestel begint water te verwarmen.
7. Wanneer het water de ingestelde temperatuur bereikt heeft, wordt het ‘BOIL’ Indicatorlicht uitgeschakeld en ‘KEEP WARM’ indicatorlicht licht op.
Waarschuwing: Verlaag de temperatuur zodra het water kookt. Laat het water NIET constant koken.
Opmerking: Wanneer de watertemperatuur 5 tot 10ºC onder de ingestelde temperatuur komt, wordt het water opnieuw verwarmd.
WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de regeltoets van de Temperatuur ingesteld is op of dichtbij ‘HIGH’, dan zal het toestel constant het water verwarmen tot de toets op ‘OFF” gedraaid is of de temperatuur verminderd is.

Thermische uit-schakelaar resetten
Dit apparaat is voorzien van een thermische veiligheidsfunctie. Wanneer de temperatuur de veiligheidsniveaus van het apparaat overschrijdt, wordt de stroomtoevoer automatisch uitgeschakeld.
De veiligheidsschakelaar bevindt zich aan de onderkant van het apparaat. Om het apparaat te resetten:
1. Leeg het apparaat en laat het afkoelen.
2. Druk de resetknop in totdat deze een klik geeft.
WAARSCHUWING: Zorg dat het apparaat volledig leeg en afgekoeld is alvorens de schakelaar te resetten, aangezien u de percolator lichtjes moet kantelen om bij de schakelaar te komen.
3. Het apparaat is nu gereset en weer klaar voor gebruik.
Reiniging, zorg & onderhoud
• Alvorens het apparaat te reinigen dient men altijd de stroomvoorziening uit te schakelen.
• Laat het apparaat afkoelen en maak het vervolgens leeg.
• Gebruik geen straal-/drukreinigers om het apparaat te reinigen.
• Gebruik zeepwater en een vochtige doek om de buitenkant van het apparaat te reinigen.
• Na reiniging goed drogen.
Ontkalken
Voor de beste waterkwaliteit raadt Buffalo aan om een waterfilter te installeren op de waterleiding, vooral in gebieden met hard water. Hierdoor wordt de ophoping van kalk en verontreinigingen in het waterreservoir verminderd, waardoor de energie­efficiëntie behouden blijft en de levensduur van het apparaat wordt verlengd.
Het apparaat ontkalken:
1. Schenk een oplossing van ontkalkingsmiddel en water in het apparaat.
2. Borstel de binnenkant voorzichtig met een zachtharige borstel.
3. Schenk de verzamelde oplossing uit de kan.
4. Vul het apparaat met schoon water en zet deze aan om het systeem te spoelen. Spoel het systeem grondig met water om eventuele resten van het ontkalkingsmiddel te verwijderen.
5. Het apparaat is nu gebruiksklaar.
Opmerking: Gebruik een geschikt ontkalkingsmiddel en volg altijd de gebruiksaanwijzing op de verpakking.
BUFFALO raadt u aan om dit apparaat om de 3 maanden te ontkalken en in gebieden met hard water met kortere intervallen.
BELANGRIJK: Net niet ontkalken of onderhouden maakt uw garantie ongeldig.

Elektrische bedrading
Men dient de steker op een geschikt stopcontact aan te sluiten.
De bedrading van dit apparaat is als volgt:
• Stroomkabel (bruin) naar de aansluitklem gemarkeerd met L
• Neutraalkabel (blauw) naar de aansluitklem gemarkeerd met N
• Aardekabel (groen/geel) naar de aansluitklem gemarkeerd met E
Dit apparaat moet worden geaard.
Bij twijfels raadpleeg een vakkundige elektricien.
De elektrische isolatiepunten mogen niet worden geblokkeerd. In geval van een nooduitschakeling moeten de isolatiepunten direct toegankelijk zijn.

Conseils de sécurité

• Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane, stable.
• L’installation et les éventuelles réparations doivent être confiées à un dépanneur / technicien qualifié. Ne retirez aucun composant ou cache de ce produit.
• Consultez les normes locales et nationales pour vous conformer aux :
- lois sur l’hygiène et la sécurité au travail ;
- codes de bonnes pratiques BS EN ;
- précautions contre le risque d’incendie ;
- réglementations sur les branchements électriques IEE ;
- règlements sur la construction.
• Assurez-vous que l’emplacement de l’appareil peut supporter son poids lorsqu’il est plein.
• NE PAS remplir l’appareil au-dessus du niveau «MAX».
• NE PAS immerger l’appareil.
• NE PAS laisser la machine fonctionner sans surveillance.
• NE PAS déplacez l’appareil lorsqu’il est plein.

• Gardez les emballages hors de portée des enfants. Débarrassez-vous des emballages conformément aux règlements des autorités locales.
• Un cordon d’alimentation endommagé doit être remplacé par un agent Buffalo ou un technicien qualifié recommandé, pour éviter tout danger.
• Vérifiez que le robinet est vissé à fond avant utilisation.
• Buffalo recommande de faire tester régulièrement cet appareil (une fois par an au minimum) par une personne compétente. Le test devrait inclure, entre autres : inspection visuelle, test de polarité, la continuité de masse, test d’isolation et test de fonctionnement.

Utilisation Modèle présenté : JA861
N’installez pas l’appareil dans un endroit où un jet d’eau pourrait être utilisé.
Placez l’appareil en position horizontale. Avant la première utilisation, nettoyez l’intérieur à
l’eau chaude.
1. Sortez l’appareil de l’emballage. Veillez à retirer intégralement la pellicule de protection et les revêtements plastique de toutes ses surfaces.
2. Vérifiez que le bouton de contrôle de la température est réglé sur ‘OFF’.
3. Retirez le couvercle et remplissez la moitié de la bouilloire au minimum.
4. Remettez le couvercle en place.
5. Connecter à l’alimentation secteur.
6. Régler le bouton de contrôle de la température à la température exigée. Le voyant indicateur de « BOIL » brille et l’appareil commence à chauffer l’eau.
7. Lorsque l’eau atteint la température définie, le voyant d’indicateur « BOIL » s’éteint et le voyant d’indicateur « KEEP WARM » brille.
Attention : Baissez la température réglée si l’eau commence à bouillir. NE LAISSEZ PAS l’eau bouillir constamment.
Remarque : Lorsque la température de l’eau baisse de 5 à 10ºC, la bouilloire déclenche automatiquement le chauffage.
AVERTISSEMENT : Si le bouton de contrôle de la température est réglé sur ou à proximité de « HIGH », l’appareil va régulièrement chauffer l’eau jusqu’à ce que le bouton soit réglé sur « OFF » ou jusqu’à ce que la température soit diminuée.

Réinitialisation du disjoncteur thermique
Cet appareil est doté d’un dispositif de sécurité sous forme de disjoncteur thermique. Si la température dépasse un niveau sûr, l’appareil s’arrête automatiquement.
Le disjoncteur de sécurité est situé sous l’appareil. Pour réinitialiser l’appareil :
1. Videz l’appareil et laissez-le refroidir.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton de réinitialisation jusqu’à ce qu’il se réenclenche.
ATTENTION : Vérifiez que l’appareil a refroidi et qu’il est vide avant de réinitialiser le disjoncteur. En effet, vous devrez peut-être le faire pivoter légèrement pour pouvoir accéder au disjoncteur.
3. Une fois réinitialisé, l’appareil peut être utilisé normalement.
Nettoyage, entretien et maintenance
• Veillez à toujours éteindre et débrancher l’appareil de la prise secteur avant de le nettoyer.
• Laissez l’appareil refroidir puis videz-le.
• N’utilisez pas de nettoyeur à jet ou à pression pour nettoyer l’appareil.
• Nettoyez l’extérieur de l’appareil à l’aide d’un chiffon humide imbibé d’eau savonneuse.
• Séchez minutieusement l’appareil après l’avoir nettoyé.
Détartrage
Pour la meilleure qualité d’eau, Buffalo recommande d’installer un filtre à eau sur le réseau d’alimentation en eau, en particulier dans les zones d’eau dure. Cela réduira l’accumulation de calcaire et de contaminants dans le réservoir d’eau, maintenant ainsi l’efficacité énergétique et prolongeant la durée de vie de l’appareil.
Pour le détartrer :
1. Versez dans la bouilloire du détartrant dissous dans une quantité d’eau.
2. Brossez légèrement l’intérieur à l’aide d’une brosse à poils doux.
3. Jetez la solution récupérée dans le pot.
4. Remplissez la bouilloire d’eau propre et allumez-la pour nettoyer le système. Rincez abondamment pour éliminer toute trace de détartrant.
5. L’appareil est désormais prêt à servir.
Remarque : Vous veillerez à utiliser le détartrant qui convient et à toujours suivre les consignes imprimées sur l’emballage.

Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht in einem Bereich auf, in dem ein Wasserstrahl verwendet werden könnte.
Stellen Sie das Gerät in horizontaler Position. Reinigen Sie das Innere des Geräts vor dem
ersten Gebrauch mit warmem Wasser.
1. Gerät aus der Verpackung nehmen. Darauf achten, dass die gesamte Plastikfolie und alle Kunststoffbeschichtungen von sämtlichen Flächen entfernt wurden.
2. Darauf achten, dass der Temperaturregler auf ‘OFF’ steht.
3. Den Deckel abnehmen und das Gerät mindestens bis zur Hälfte der maximalen Füllmenge füllen.
4. Den Deckel wieder aufsetzen.
5. Schließen Sie das Netzkabel an.
6. Stellen Sie den Temperaturregler auf die gewünschte Temperatur. Die Kontrollleuchte ‚BOIL‘ leuchtet und das Gerät beginnt Wasser zu erhitzen.
7. Wenn das Wasser die eingestellte Temperatur erreicht hat, erlischt die Kontrollleuchte ‚BOIL‘ und die Kontrollleuchte ‚KEEP WARM‘ leuchtet auf.

Ausschalter mit Wärmesensor
Dieses Gerät ist mit einer Überlastungsschutzfunktion ausgestattet. Sollte die Temperatur über die sicheren Grenzwerte hinaus ansteigen, wird die Stromzufuhr automatisch abgeschaltet.
Der Notstoppschalter befindet sich auf der Geräteunterseite. Um das Gerät zurückzusetzen:
1. Das Gerät entleeren und abkühlen lassen.
2. Die Reset-Taste drücken, bis ein „Klick“ hörbar ist.
VORSICHT: Vor Zurücksetzen des Schalters darauf achten, dass sich das Gerät abgekühlt hat und leer ist, da es u. U. leicht gekippt werden muss, damit Sie Zugang zum Schalter erhalten.
3. Jetzt ist die maschine in den Ausgangszustand zurückgesetzt und kann wieder wie gewohnt eingesetzt werden.
Reinigung, Pflege und Wartung
• Eine Entkalkerlösung in den Wasserkocher gießen.
• Lassen Sie das Gerät abkühlen und entleeren Sie es dann.
• Reinigen Sie das Gerät nicht mit einem Strahl­oder Hochdruckreiniger.
• Die Maschine außen mit Seifenlauge und einem feuchten Tuch reinigen.
• Nach dem Reinigen gründlich abtrocknen.
Entkalken
Für beste Wasserqualität empfiehlt Buffalo, insbesondere in Gebieten mit hartem Wasser, einen Wasserfilter in die Wasserleitung einzubauen. Dadurch wird die Ansammlung von Kalk und Verunreinigungen im Wassertank reduziert, wodurch die Energieeffizienz erhalten und die Lebensdauer des Geräts verlängert wird.
Entkalken des Geräts:
1. Das in Wasser gelöste Entkalkungsmittel in den Wasserbehälter geben.
2. Den Wasserbehälter innen vorsichtig mit einer weichen Bürste reinigen.
3. Die Lösung aus der Kanne ausschütten.
4. Den Wasserkocher mit sauberem Wasser füllen und wieder einschalten, um das Gerät auszuspülen. Das Gerät gründlich ausspülen, um Entkalkerreste zu entfernen.
5. Jetzt ist die Kaffeemaschine wieder einsatzbereit.
Hinweis: Verwenden Sie ein geeignetes Entkalkungsmittel und beachten Sie stets die Gebrauchsanweisung dieses Mittels.
BUFFALO empfiehlt, dieses Gerät in Gebieten mit hartem Wasser alle 3 Monate oder öfter zu verkleinern.

Non installare l’apparecchio in un’area in cui potrebbe essere utilizzato un getto d’acqua.
Collocare l’apparecchio in posizione orizzontale. Prima del primo utilizzo, pulire l’interno con acqua
calda.
1. Rimuovere l’apparecchio dall’imballaggio. Assicurarsi che la pellicola protettiva e rivestimenti in plastica siano interamente rimossi da tutte le superfici.
2. Assicurarsi che la manopola di controllo temperatura sia regolata su “OFF”.
3. Rimuovere il coperchio e riempire l’apparecchio almeno a metà capacità.
4. Riposizionare il coperchio.
5. Collegate il dispositivo alla rete elettrica.
6. Posizionate la rotella di regolazione della temperatura sulla temperatura richiesta. La spia di indicazione “BOIL” si accenderà e il dispositivo inizierà a scaldare l’acqua.
7. Quando l’acqua avrà raggiunto la temperatura selezionata, la spia “BOIL” si spegnerà e la spia “KEEP WARM” si accenderà.
Attenzione: Ridurre la temperatura impostata se l’acqua inizia a bollire. NON consentire che l’acqua sia costantemente in ebollizione.

Blocco termico
Questo apparecchio è dotato di una funzione di blocco termico di sicurezza. Se la temperatura supera i livelli di sicurezza, l’apparecchio interrompe automaticamente l’alimentazione.
L’interruttore di blocco termico è posizionato sotto l’apparecchio. Per reimpostare l’apparecchio:
1. Svuotare l’apparecchio e aspettare che si raffreddi.
2. Premere il tasto di reimpostazione fino a quando non scatta.
ATTENZIONE: Assicurarsi che l’apparecchio si sia raffreddato e svuotarlo prima di reimpostare l’interruttore, dal momento che è necessario inclinarlo leggermente per accedere all’interruttore.
3. L’apparecchio è ora reimpostato e può essere utilizzato normalmente.
Rimozione del calcare
Per la migliore qualità dell’acqua, Buffalo consiglia di installare un filtro dell’acqua nella rete idrica, in particolare nelle aree con acqua dura. 4. Riempire l’apparecchio con acqua pulita e riaccenderlo per lavare il sistema. Lavare completamente il sistema per rimuovere eventuali residui di prodotto anticalcare.
5. L’apparecchio è ora pronto per l’uso.
Pulizia e manutenzione
• Prima di eseguire la pulizia, spegnere e scollegare l’apparecchio dall’alimentazione.
• Lasciare raffreddare l’apparecchio e poi svuotarlo.
• Non utilizzare idropulitrici per la pulizia dell’apparecchio.
• Utilizzare acqua saponata e un panno inumidito per pulire la superficie esterna dell’apparecchio.
• Asciugare completamente dopo la pulizia.
Nota: Utilizzare un prodotto anticalcare adeguato e seguire sempre le istruzioni indicate sul contenitore.
BUFFALO consiglia di rimuovere le incrostazioni di calcare ogni 3 mesi o più frequentemente se l’apparecchio è utilizzato in aree con acqua dura.

Funcionamiento
No instale el aparato en una zona en la que se pueda utilizar un chorro de agua.
Coloque el aparato en una posición horizontal. Antes de utilizarlo por primera vez, limpie el
interior con agua templada.
1. Desembale el aparato. Asegúrese de eliminar bien toda la película plástica de protección y los revestimientos plásticos de todas las superficies.
2. Asegurarse de que el Mando de control de temperatura está ajustado en ‘OFF’.
3. Retirar la tapa y llenar el aparato por lo menos hasta la mitad de su capacidad.
4. Volver a colocar la tapa.
5. Conecte el aparato a una toma de corriente.
6. Establezca el selector de temperatura en la temperatura deseada. El indicador de “BOIL” se iluminará y el aparato comenzará a calentar el agua.
7. Cuando el agua ha alcanzado la temperatura establecida, el indicador de “BOIL” se apaga y se ilumina el indicador de “KEEP WARM”.
Advertencia: Reduzca la temperatura ajustada si el agua comienza a hervir. NO deje que el agua hierva constantemente.
Nota: Cuando la temperatura del agua baja a 5-10º C el aparato vuelve a calentar el agua. ADVERTENCIA: Si el selector de temperatura se establece en o cerca de “HIGH”, el aparato
calentará constantemente el agua hasta que el selector se establezca en la posición “OFF” o se reduzca la temperatura.

Reinicio del corte térmico
Este aparato tiene montado un dispositivo de seguridad de corte térmico. Si la temperatura supera los niveles de seguridad, el aparato cortará automáticamente la alimentación.
El interruptor de corte de seguridad está situado en la parte inferior del aparato. Para reiniciar el aparato:
1. Vaciar el aparato y dejar que se enfríe.
2. Pulsar el botón de reinicio hasta que haga clic.
ADVERTENCIA: Asegurarse de que el aparato se ha enfriado y está vacío antes de reiniciar el interruptor, ya que puede ser necesario bascularlo ligeramente para alcanzar dicho interruptor.
3. El aparato está ahora reiniciado y puede utilizarse normalmente.
Limpieza, cuidados y mantenimiento
• Desconecte el aparato y desenchúfelo del suministro eléctrico siempre antes de llevar a cabo la limpieza.
• Deje que el aparato se enfríe y luego vacíelo.
• No utilice limpiadores de chorro a presión para limpiar el aparato.
• Utilice agua jabonosa y un paño húmedo para limpiar el exterior del aparato.

Eliminación de la cal
Para obtener la mejor calidad del agua, BUFFALO recomienda que se instale un filtro de agua en el suministro de agua principal, particularmente en áreas de agua dura. Hacerlo reducirá la acumulación de cal y contaminantes en el tanque de agua, manteniendo así la eficiencia energética y prolongando la vida útil del aparato.
Para eliminar la cal del aparato:
1. Verter una solución descalcificadora y agua en el aparato.
2. Limpie el interior con cuidado con un cepillo de cerdas suaves.
3. Tire la solución recogida del recipiente.
4. Llenar el aparato con agua limpia y volver a conectarlo para lavar el sistema. Lavar cuidadosamente el sistema para eliminar cualquier residuo del descalcificador.
5. Ahora el aparato está a punto para el funcionamiento.
Nota: Utilice un producto adecuado para eliminar la cal y siga siempre las instrucciones del recipiente.
BUFFALLO recomienda que se elimine la cal de este aparato cada 3 meses o con mayor frecuencia en zonas de aguas duras.
