SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE TOASTER KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
• WARNING: This appliance must be earthed.
• We recommend that the toaster is plugged into a socket that has no other appliance connected to it. Failure to do this may cause an overload, trip a circuit breaker or blow a fuse. Preferably the socket outlet should be protected by a Residual Current device (RCD)
• Before plugging in, check that the voltage on the rating label is the same as the mains supply.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse any part of this product in water or other liquid.
• Do not allow cable to touch hot surfaces, or to hang over edge of a table or counter top.
• Keep clear of amable material. When in use a re may occur if the toaster is covered or touching ammable material.
Bread may burn. Therefore toasters must not be used near or below
curtains and other combustible materials.
• Do not attempt to dislodge bread when the toaster is plugged in.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this appliance.
• Do not use outdoors.
• The toaster is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• NOTE: Any plug cut from power supply cord should be disposed of immediately. Inserting any cut off Plug into a 13A socket-outlet is hazardous.
• Never use the plug without the fuse cover tted. Ensure replacement fuse is the same rating as original.
• Replacement fuses should be ASTA approved to BS 1362.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged lead or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Position the appliance on a at, stable surface.

Introduction
Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible performance from your BUFFALO product.

BUFFALO prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage. Should you nd any damage as a result of transit, please contact your BUFFALO dealer immediately.
Operation
1. Connect the appliance to a mains power supply
2. Insert the bread into the top of the appliance
3. Select the number of pieces of bread to toast using the Slot Selection Switch - Note Left 2 Slots are for 2 slice toasting, Left 4 slots for 4 slot toasting
4. Pull the lever up to lower bread into appliance
5. Turn timer to desired setting (Rotate a minimum of 90o past the ‘1’ symbol or spring tension will not engage or turn off the toaster.)
6. Power indicator light will illuminate and the appliance will begin toasting
7. When timer reaches Off position appliance will stop toasting and indicator light will switch off - Note to switch toaster off manually turn timer to Off
8. Push lever down to raise toast

Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
• A BUFFALO dealer or qualied technician should carry out repairs if required.
• Always switch off the appliance, disconnect the power supply and allow to cool before cleaning or performing maintenance.
• If necessary wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.
• Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Crumb Tray
Periodically empty the crumb tray (located at the bottom of the appliance). Slide the tray out to empty. Slot back in securely when replacing the tray.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin, moulded, BS1363 plug and lead, with a 13 amp fuse as standard. The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
• Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
• Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
• Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed, using a dedicated earthing circuit. If in doubt consult a qualied electrician. Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily accessible.
