10. Cleaning Equipment
10.1. Cleaning before Production
• Before operating your new Brüllen equipment, it is necessary to run a sanitized solution through.
• Pour an even amount of sanitized warm water into each hopper/hoppers.
• Make sure all surfaces of hoppers, agitators and feed tubes have been covered or rinsed by solution.
• Press QUARTET BEATER/CLEANING button and let run for 30 seconds.
• With Quartet Beaters still turning open all pistons and discard solution.
• Press STOP button, your equipment is now sanitized and ready for use.
• NEVER put machine into sleep mode or production mode with ANY water inside the freezer chambers and/or
the hoppers. This WILL result in serious damage to the machine and is not covered by warranty. Any
components damaged due to this action must be paid in full by customer.
10.2. Cleaning after Production
• If your machine is fitted with a default cleaning lock timer it will automatically lock out after 7 days. This is a
default setting and we recommend that you follow mix manufactures instruction as to the frequency of
cleaning.
• First press STOP button to end PRODUCTION MODE.
• Remove feed tubes from hoppers.
• Open pistons and press QUARTET BEATER/CLEANING button, this will empty all product in freezer cylinders
and hoppers.
• When there is no more product coming out, press STOP button.
• Fill the hoppers with warm cleaning solution and water.
• Press QUARTET BEATER/CLEAN button and leave running while you remove agitators and feed tubes.
• Clean hopper and hopper lids thoroughly
• With Quartet Beater still running, open pistons and drain cleaning solution.
• Repeat above step with warm water to rinse out excess cleaning solution.
• Press STOP button once all rinsing water has emptied
• Remove all four Dispensing Head securing bolts, remove draw handle locking pin, this will allow the piston
valves to be removed and cleaned.
• Remove Dispensing Head from machine exposing the Quartet Beaters.
• Remove both Quartet Beaters, including the rear seal from the back of the Quartet Beater shaft. (Rear seal not
in all models)
• Complete a thorough clean on all parts in warm cleaning solution, followed by placing them in a sanitizer
solution afterwards.
• NEVER put machine into sleep mode or production mode with ANY water inside the freezer chambers and/or
the hoppers. This WILL result in serious damage to the machine and is not covered by warranty. Any
components damaged due to this action must be paid in full by customer.
10.3. Assembling Equipment
• Place agitators back on the agitator post and lock into position.
• Install Quartet Beater/Quartet Beaters making sure scraper blades are mounted correctly.
• Pistons should be lubricated with a medium amount of lubricant and reinserted as they were removed (note the
middle piston is different and must be in the center)
• Install the piston locking pin through all handles.
• Check the Dispensing Head seals are sitting flat in the channels on back of door.
• Once the Quartet Beaters have been reinserted and the Dispensing Head is in place, put the four Dispensing
Head securing bolts back on.
• Tightening in a hex like pattern to ensure the door is pulled in straight
• Run sanitization procedure again, followed by production startup and you’re ready to serve soft Product
• It is recommended to clean the refrigeration condensers once every six months.
• Lubricated feed tube o rings but not feed tube install at this time.
10.4. Scrapper Blade Assembly.
• Each scrapper blade is marked A or B – and should be assembled with each Quartet Beater having an A scrapper
blade and a B scrapper blade – not A and A or B and B. If you are unsure ring the Brullen customer phone number.
