Your hearing aid does not restore normal hearing, nor does it prevent or improve an organically induced hearing loss.
Safety and Warnings
• Unauthorized modifications to the hearing aid may damage your hearing.
• Never wear your hearing aid in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
• Keep the hearing aid out of the reach of small children, people with cognitive impairment and pets. The ingestion of hearing aid parts, in particular of batteries, is hazardous to life. There is a danger of suffocation. In case of emergency call a doctor or a hospital immediately.
• If you are experiencing pain in or behind the ear, or if you develop increased earwax, contact your hearing healthcare professional or doctor.
• Hearing aids should not be fitted with a dome or cerumen (earwax) protection system for customers with perforated eardrums, inflamed ear canals or otherwise exposed mid-ear cavities. In these cases, we recommend the use of a custom ear mould. In the rather unlikely event that the dome remains in the au-
ditory canal, we recommend a visit to a specialist medical practitioner.
• Listening programs in the directional microphone mode reduce background noises. Warning signals or noises coming from behind are not perceived or only weakly perceived.
• Never connect your hearing aid to an external audio device such as a radio, etc., as this may result in physical injury (electric shock).
• The use of a hearing aid by persons with an actively implanted medical device (for example heart pacemaker, defibrillator, etc.) requires prior consultation and clarification with a specialist physician. (For further information please refer to our website at www.bruckhoff. com/Sicherheitshinweise)
Information on product safety, use and maintenance
Your hearing aid is very robust and can be worn during all normal everyday activities, even under extreme conditions for short periods.
• Never immerse it in/under water or use it while showering, bathing or swimming. The hearing aid electronics will become damaged.
• Never clean the microphone openings
with moist agents. They will lose their special acoustic properties.
• Protect your hearing aid from heat.
• Never use a microwave or other heating appliances to dry it.
• The dome must be replaced every three months, or as soon as it becomes hard or brittle. This prevents unintentional detachment of the dome during insertion and removal from the ear.
• As far as possible, leave unused hearing aids with an open battery compartment so that moisture can escape.
• For long-term non-use, remove the battery.
• Always store the hearing aid in a safe, dry, and clean place
• Do not drop it!
• Always replace weak or defective batteries (e.g. liquid loss) immediately. Always use new batteries
• Do not dispose of old batteries in domestic waste. Your hearing care professional will dispose of these for you.
• Use only batteries with max.1.5 Volt.
• Never use silver-zinc or lithium-ion batteries.
• Some (dental) medical examinations with x-rays, e.g. CT examination, MRT/ NMRT, can impair the functioning of your hearing aid. Remove your hearing aid beforehand.
• Hearing aids do not have to be removed before passing through a security sluice (e.g. at the airport). The low X-ray radiation emitted there does not affect your hearing aid.
• Do not use your hearing aid in locations where electronic devices are prohibited.
