Load the Paper
The paper tray can hold up to 200 sheets of 20-lb paper.
A. Open the paper tray cover.
B. Place up to 200 sheets of paper in the paper tray. Do not allow the
level of paper to pass the maximum paper line on the paper guides.
C. Close the paper tray cover.

Press Receive Mode until the correct mode for your setup is
displayed.
The machine automatically answers every call as a fax.
For receiving fax and voice calls on one line.
(FAX-1270e only) An External Telephone Answering Device
(TAD) answers every call and stores voice messages in its
memory. Fax messages are printed. An external telephone
operates as if it is in MANUAL Mode when it is connected
to your Brother machine.
(FAX-1575mc) A built-in answering machine answers every call
and stores voice and fax messages. For details, see chapter 9.
You control the phone line and must answer every call yourself.

Setup Auto Dial Numbers
Storing One-Touch Dial Numbers
Press Menu/Set, 6, 1.

Press the One Touch key where you want to store

When the name is displayed, lift the handset for a

Press Fax Start to begin dialing.

Sending Faxes
Automatic Transmission
Place the original face down in the ADF.

Enter the fax number using the dial pad,

Place the original face down in the ADF.

Press Quick-Scan/Reports. The LCD indicates

how much memory is available.

Select Receive Mode
Press Receive Mode to select MANUAL, FAX ONLY,
FAX /TEL, TAD:ANSWER MACH. (FAX-1270e), or
MSG CTR (FAX-1575mc). If you select FAX/ TEL,
make sure you set the Ring Delay and F/T Ring Time.
Turning ON Message Center Mode

Turn Message Storage ON.

Record the Outgoing Message

Press until it lights.

Pick up the handset.
