4. Connecting or replacing the battery
The ballast unit BB 200 is available in 3 variants:
1. with slide lock system
By pressing the security mechanism at the side of the slide lock system, the battery
can be inserted respectively removed.
2. for Cannon S12 2-pole plug
To connect respectively disconnect the ballast unit from the battery, tighten or release
the cap nut on the plug. Please observe: Never pull on the cable itself; pull only on
the plug housing.
3. for XLR 4-pole plug
To connect the ballast unit to the battery just plug in the corresponding connection, to
disconnect, the security mechanism on the socket must be pressed, so that the plug
can be pulled out. Please observe: Never pull on the cable itself; pull only on the plug
housing.
5. LED Display
• Green LED is lit continuously: normal operating mode
• Green LED is flashing: the battery voltage has dropped to 26V – 22V. The lamp is
now operated at a reduced power level according to the diagram below.
• Red LED is blinking: the battery voltage has dropped to 22V – 19V or the
thermoprotection is activated reducing the power continuously down to 60%. The
power reduction enables the user to recognize the situation and delays the final
shut-down.
• Red LED is lit continuously: the unit has stopped operating for one of the
following reasons:
1. The battery voltage has dropped below 19V.
2. The overload protection has stopped the trigger circuit after approx. 10
unsuccessful attempts to trigger. After 30 seconds further attempts are possible.
3. The temperature of the ballast unit has exceeded a safe limit.
4. Short circuit in the lamp.
5. Technical fault
