Use the following steps to install the Broadcom® CacheVault Power Module 02 (CVPM02) or the CacheVault Power Module 05 (CVPM05) using the remote mount board.
ATTENTION: To avoid the risk of data loss, back up your data before you change your
system configuration.
CAUTION: Plugging the CVPM into a powered adapter (hot plugging) is not supported. This
action might damage the CVPM and the MegaRAID voids the warranty support.
1. Disconnect the computer from the power supply and from any networks to which you will install the adapter. You risk damaging the system or experiencing electrical shock if you do
not disconnect.
2. Install the clip on the remote mount board. Unpack the clip and BBU-BRACKET-05 remote mount board (available separately). Place the clip and remote mount board module front-side up on a flat, clean, and static-free surface.
3. Align screws and secure clip. Secure the clip to the remote mount board in the three screw holes with the provided screws and the nuts. The screws thread through the front of the clip and the remote mount board. Center the screwdriver carefully to avoid stripping the screw heads. Do not over-tighten the screws.
4. Attach the CVPM to the remote mount board. Unpack the CVPM and press the CVPM into the clip on the remote mount board until the module clicks firmly into place.
5. Connect the CVPM to the MegaRAID adapter. Insert the module interface cable connector (larger connector) into the CVPM. Insert the board interface cable connector (smaller connector) into the connector on the MegaRAID adapter. Align the cable connectors to make sure they are connected correctly.
