Inserting the Battery:
Remove the battery cover and insert a new battery (9V DC alkaline block battery). Make sure you connect the poles correctly. When the low battery alert ' ' appears in the display window appears, the battery must be replaced with a new one. When disposing of used batteries, please observe your local legal stipulations.
Stud locator
1. Turn the selector switch left to »«, to select the function »stud locator«.
2. Set the device on the wall. Push and hold the on
button »« (either on the side or front) and wait until the LCD-display shows »00« , which indicates that the calibration is complete and the device is ready to use.
3. Move the device slowly and evenly sideways.
4. Keep moving the detector across the surface until the numbers in the display go up, i. e. 01, 02, 03…, which should be accompanied by a signal tone that speeds up. Stop moving when the numeric values on the display drop again.
5. Move the detector back slowly until the registered value shows the highest number again. Then release the on button »«

6. Mark the location with a pencil.
