sie sorgfältig auf.
Wichtig
• Prüfen Sie, ob die Spannungsangabe am Kannenboden mit Ihrer Netzspannung übereinstimmt. Der Wasserkocher darf nur mit dem
Sockel (g) in Betrieb genommen werden.

• Dieses Gerät ist zum Gebrauch im Haushalt
und für haushaltsübliche Mengen konstruiert.
• Kinder oder Personen mit eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten dürfen dieses Gerät nicht benutzen, es sei
denn, sie werden durch eine für ihre Sicherheit
zuständige Person beaufsichtigt. Grundsätzlich
raten wir aber, das Gerät von Kindern fern zu
halten.
• Der Wasserkocher darf nur
zum Erhitzen von
Wasser benutzt werden.
• Gerät nur auf einer trockenen, ebenen und
festen Unterlage betreiben.
• Netzkabel nie herunterhängen lassen. Zu langes
Netzkabel durch die Kabelaufwicklung einziehen.
• Sockel, Netzkabel oder Kanne nie mit heißen
Oberflächen in Kontakt kommen lassen (z. B.
Herdplatten).
• Falls der Wasserkocher aus Versehen im leeren
Zustand eingeschaltet wird, erfolgt eine automatische Abschaltung durch den Überhitzungsschutz. In diesem Fall das Gerät 10 Minuten
abkühlen lassen, bevor Sie Wasser einfüllen.

orsicht: Wird die Kanne über die Maximalmarkierung hinaus gefüllt, kann kochendes Wasser
aus dem Ausguss herausspritzen:
Verbrühungsgefahr!
• Nicht den Deckel öffnen, während das Wasser
kocht.
• Kanne im heißen Zustand nur am Griff tragen
und aufrecht halten. Wird sie zu weit nach hinten gekippt, kann heißes Wasser austreten.
• Netzkabel regelmäßig auf eventuelle Schadstellen prüfen.
• Bei Störungen oder Defekten den Wasserkocher nicht mehr benutzen und zur Reparatur
an eine autorisierte Braun Kundendienststelle
geben. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen.
• Braun Elektrogeräte entsprechen den einschlägigen Sicherheitsbestimmungen.
Nur bei Modell WK 500:
• Achten Sie beim Gebrauch darauf, dass nicht
zu viele Verbraucher gleichzeitig eingeschaltet
sind.
• Sicherung der Steckdose: mindestens 16 A

• Maximale Füllmenge: 1,7 l Wasser
Vor dem Erstgebrauch
Füllen Sie vor dem Erstgebrauch den Wasserkocher zweimal mit der maximalen Wassermenge
und lassen Sie sie aufkochen. Leeren Sie den
Wasserkocher beide Male nach dem Aufkochen.
Es ist normal, dass sich nach mehrmaligem Aufkochen Kondenswasser auf dem Sockel bildet.
Bitte einfach mit einem Tuch trocken wischen.
Inbetriebnahme
1a Wasserkocher bei geschlossenem Deckel
durch die Ausgussöffnung füllen, oder
1b Taste (c) zum Entriegeln des Deckels drücken,
Deckel öffnen, Wasser einfüllen und Deckel
wieder schließen. (Bei geöffnetem Deckel
funktioniert der Wasserkocher nicht.)
2 Wasserkocher auf den trockenen Sockel stel-
len und den Sockel ans Netz anschließen.
3 Gerät einschalten (d), die Kontrolllampe leuch-
tet auf (während des Betriebes Deckel nicht
öffnen).
4 Wenn das Wasser kocht, schaltet der Wasser-
kocher automatisch ab. Durch Drücken des
Ein-/Aus-Schalters (d) kann der Kochvorgang
auch vorzeitig abgebrochen werden.
Abschaltautomatik
Eine Abschaltung erfolgt:
– wenn das Wasser kocht,
– wenn kein Wasser eingefüllt ist
(bei unbeabsichtigtem Einschalten),
– wenn der Deckel geöffnet wird,

– wenn der Wasserkocher vom Sockel genom-
men wird.
Ist der Kalkfilter nicht eingesetzt, verlängert sich
die Abschaltzeit.
Reinigung
Vor der Reinigung Netzstecker ziehen. Kanne und
Sockel dürfen niemals in Wasser getaucht werden. Kanne und Sockel können mit einem feuchten Tuch abgewischt werden. Das Kanneninnere
kann mit einer Bürste gereinigt werden.
Der herausnehmbare Kalkfilter ist spülmaschinengeeignet.
Entkalken
• Zur Verlängerung der Lebensdauer des Wasserkochers und zum Energiesparen empfehlen
wir in folgenden Abständen zu entkalken:
– Alle 3 Monate bei normalem Gebrauch
(bis zu 5x pro Tag) und weichem bis mittelhartem Wasser.
– Monatlich bei häufigerem Gebrauch bzw.
hartem Wasser.
Die Wasserhärte können Sie bei Ihrem zuständigen Versorgungswerk erfragen.
• Kochen Sie ca. 0,8 l Wasser im Wasserkocher.
• Wichtig: Schalten Sie das Gerät aus und
geben Sie 0,4 l Haushaltsessig (4% Säure)
hinzu. Die Lösung nicht aufkochen, da diese
herausspritzen kann: Verbrühungsgefahr!
• Lassen Sie das Essigwasser über Nacht im
Gerät stehen.
• Leeren Sie den Wasserkocher am nächsten
Tag und spülen Sie ihn mit klarem Wasser aus.
Füllen Sie den Wasserkocher mit klarem Wasser und lassen Sie es kochen.
• Leeren Sie den Wasserkocher und spülen Sie
ihn nochmals mit klarem Wasser aus.
• Bleiben Rückstände von Kesselstein übrig, so
wiederholen Sie den Vorgang.
• Auch der Kalkfilter kann zum Entkalken mit
Essigwasser getränkt werden.
Änderungen vorbehalten.
Dieses Gerät darf am Ende seiner
Lebensdauer nicht mit dem Hausmüll
entsorgt werden. Die Entsorgung kann über
den Braun Kundendienst oder lokal verfügbare
Rückgabe- und Sammelsysteme erfolgen.

• This appliance is intended for household use
only.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
children or persons with reduced physical or
mental capabilities, unless they are given
supervision by a person responsible for their
safety. In general, we recommend that you
keep the appliance out of reach of children.
• Only
use the kettle to heat water.
• Only operate the kettle on a dry, flat and fixed
surface.
• Never let the cord hang down from the worktop.
The cord length may be reduced by winding it
up with the cord storage facility.
• The base, the kettle or the cord must never get
in contact with hot surfaces (e. g. stove plates).
• In case the empty kettle is switched on accidentally, the overheating protection will cut it
off automatically. In this case, allow the kettle
10 minutes to cool down before filling it with
water.
• Caution:
Do not overfill the kettle!
Water could boil over and cause scalding.
• Do not open the lid while water is boiling.
• During operation, the kettle will get hot. Therefore only use the handle to carry it. Always
hold the kettle in an upright position, to avoid
boiling water come out.
• Check the cord regularly for possible damage.
• If the appliance shows any defect, stop using it
and take it to a Braun Service Centre for repair.
Faulty or unqualified repair work may cause
accidents or injury to the user.
• Braun electric appliances meet applicable
safety standards.
Model WK 500 only:
• Make sure not to operate too many other electric appliances when using the kettle.

• Max. capacity: 1.7 l water
Before first use
Before using the kettle for the first time, fill it
up twice with water to the maximum level and
bring it to boil. Empty the kettle after boiling each
time.
After repeatedly boiling water it is normal that
some condensation may have formed on the
base of the water kettle.
If this happens, just wipe dry with a cloth.
Setting into operation
1a Fill the kettle through the spout with the lid
closed, or
1b press the lid release button (c), open the lid, fill
with water and close the lid again (the kettle
will not work with the lid open).
2 Place the kettle on the dry base and plug in
the base.
3 Press the on/off switch (d), the pilot light will
come on (do not open the lid when the kettle
is switched on).
4 When the water has boiled, the kettle auto-
matically switches off.
You may also stop the heating procedure at
any time by pressing the on/off switch (d).
Automatic cut-off feature
The kettle switches off when ...
– the water has boiled,
– it contains no water
(in case of accidental switching on),
– the lid is opened,
– it is taken off the base.
If the scale filter is not installed, the automatic
cut-off will be delayed.
Cleaning
Before cleaning, unplug the base.
Kettle or base must never be immersed in water.
Clean the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth,
the inner part can be cleaned by means of a
brush. The removable scale filter is dishwasherproof.
Descaling
• To extend the kettle’s lifetime and save energy,
we recommend the following descaling
frequency:
– Every 3 months in case of normal use
(up to 5 times a day) with low to medium
water hardness.
– Every month in case of more frequent usage
or with hard water.
The water hardness you can check with your
local water supplier.
• Boil 0.8 l water in the kettle.
• Important: Switch off the kettle and add 0.4 l
household vinegar (4% acid). Do not boil
the contents as it may cause spilling being a
danger of scalding.
• Let the mix of water and vinegar sit in the
kettle overnight.
• Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly with fresh water. Fill the kettle with
fresh water and boil it.
• Empty the kettle and rinse it again with fresh
water.
• If the kettle still contains scale, repeat this
procedure.
• To remove any scale from the scale filter, you
may soak it in diluted vinegar.

We grant a 2 year guarantee on the product
commencing on the date of purchase. Within the
guarantee period we will eliminate any defects in the
appliance resulting from faults in materials or
workmanship, free of charge either by repairing or
replacing the complete appliance at our discretion.

appliance is supplied by Braun or its appointed
distributor.
This guarantee does not cover: damage due to
improper use, normal wear or use as well as defects
that have a negligible effect on the value or operation
of the appliance. The guarantee becomes void if
repairs are undertaken by unauthorised persons and
if original Braun parts are not used.

Warranty
In Australia, our goods come with guarantees that
cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement
or refund for a major failure and for compensation

repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of
acceptable quality and the failure does not amount
to a major failure.

Replacement Warranty commencing on the date of
purchase (Our Warranty).
Our Warranty applies in all States and Territories
of Australia and in New Zealand and is in addition
to any mandatory statutory obligations imposed
on Procter & Gamble Australia Pty. Ltd., its
distributors and its manufacturer. Our Warranty
does not purport to exclude, restrict or modify any
such mandatory statutory obligations.
Our Warranty only covers defects in the appliance
resulting from faults in workmanship or materials.
Therefore, if your appliance becomes faulty as a result
of faults in workmanship or materials, it will be
exchanged by your retailer, on presentation of proof
