Functions
The innovative «voice memo» technology of
the Braun voice memo allows recording of an
acoustic message (speech or music), which
is played back as part of the alarm signal and
thus can make waking up more pleasant.
Maximum recording length is 10 seconds.
Messages can be recorded onto the voice
memo chip as often as desired. The chip
retains its recorded information even when
the batteries are removed.
Playback of the acoustic message occurs by
means of a loudspeaker, either at the touch of
a button or as part of the alarm signal.
To work properly, the clock should be used
only at temperatures above freezing (0°C).
Batteries
The Braun voice memo uses 3 alkaline
Mignon batteries (LR 6, MN 1500, AM 3, AA
alkaline). One battery ( symbol in the
battery compartment) is used for the clock
and all three are used for the digital memory.
lf only the clock battery is inserted, the
recording and playback functions of the
«voice memo» chip cannot be activated.
Do not use rechargeable batteries, since their
voltage level is too low.
Insertion of batteries
To open the battery compartment, slide the
lid at the back of the clock in the direction of
the arrow. Make sure that the poles of the
batteries are in the right direction. Slide the lid
back into the clock until it engages.
bcs
This clock has a «battery check system»
(bcs), which constantly checks the battery
voltage level. When the battery voltage drops
below a certain level, the second hand moves
in two-second intervals. This indicates that
the batteries should be replaced. When new
batteries are inserted, the second hand will
move in 2-second intervals for 8 seconds
(4 times). lf the second hand moves normally
thereafter, the batteries have enough voltage.
Deterioration of the tone quality is a signal
that the battery voltage is no longer sufficient
for the recording and playback functions.
Replace all three batteries.
Do not dispose of empty batteries in
the household waste. Take them to
special local collection sites.
Recording
The slider switch at the back of the clock has
four positions:
buzzer: Alarm function only with buzzer,
without acoustic message
volume 1: Acoustic message, volume level 1
volume 2: Acoustic message, volume level 2
record: Recording of an acoustic
message
In order to record an acoustic message, push
the slider switch all the way to the end/
position «record» and hold. Input the desired
message directly into the microphone ( above
the loudspeaker) or hold the microphone
directly in front of the acoustic source (radio,
etc.). As long as capacity of the «voice
memo» chip – maximum 10 seconds – is still
available, the control lamp next to the
microphone lights up red. When the full
capacity has been reached, the control lamp
is turned off and recording is terminated.
Every new recording completely erases the
previous recording. lf the slider switch is not
held at the position «record», it will automatically slide back to the position «volume
2», in order to prevent involuntary erasing of
the recorded message.
Playback
Press the yellow «repeat» button briefly to
hear a recorded message. The entire length
of the acoustic message is played back.
When the slider switch is in the position
«volume 1», playback is at a lower volume
level than in the position «volume 2».
Playback when the alarm function is
activated
When the alarm function has been activated
and the slider switch is in the position
«volume 1» or «volume 2», the alarm goes off
in the following sequence: first the buzzer,
then playback of the acoustic message, and
then again the buzzer, until it is shut off.
The buzzer after the acoustic message can
be shut off via «voice control» – any word
suffices. The acoustic message and also the
buzzer can be shut off manually (see «voice
control/light/snooze»).
Setting the time
Press the button at the back of the clock so
that the button pops out. Only turn this button clockwise (direction of the arrow).
Important: After setting the time, press the
button back into the housing.
Setting the alarm
The alarm setting wheel at the side of the
clock is used to move the alarm hand to the
desired position. This wheel must be turned
only in the direction of the arrow.
Alarm function
The alarm function is activated by pressing
the green button marked «on», deactivated
by pressing the red button «off». To avoid
accidentally switching on the alarm, the lock
switch should be turned on when travelling:
press the switch marked «lock» all the way to
the end, in the direction of the «on» button.
lf the alarm is desired with buzzer only/no
acoustic message, the slider switch at the
back of the clock should be slid into the
position «buzzer».
voice control/light/snooze
After the third signal of the buzzer or after the
acoustic message has been played, the
alarm can be stopped via voice control – any
word suffices. The voice control interruption
always activates the 8 minute snooze
function and simultaneously turns on the dial
illumination for ca. 4 seconds. The snooze
function can be activated a total of ca. 4 times
= ca. 30 minutes.
The clock face can also be illuminated for ca.
4 seconds by pressing either the alarm «on»
or «off» buttons. For the pocket flashlight
function one of the buttons must be held
continuously.

This product is guaranteed for 1 year from
date of purchase against material and/or
workmanship defects. These will be
eliminated either by repairing or exchanging
the appliance as we may choose. All other
claims, including for damages, are excluded.
Service under the guarantee does not affect
its expiry date.
Claims only valid in countries where product
is officially sold and if accompanied by a
stamped and dated guarantee card.
Claims arising out of the sales contract with
the vendor are not affected by this guarantee.

Funktionsweise
Die neuartige «voice memo»-Technik der
Braun voice memo ermöglicht das
Aufzeichnen einer akustischen Nachricht
(Sprache oder Musik), die als Teil des
Wecksignals wiedergegeben wird und
dadurch das Wecken angenehmer gestalten
kann. Die Aufnahmekapazität beträgt
10 Sekunden. Der Speicherchip ist beliebig
oft bespielbar und behält auch dann seine
gespeicherten Informationen, wenn die
Batterien entnommen werden.
Die Wiedergabe dieser akustischen
Nachricht erfolgt über einen Lautsprecher,
entweder auf Knopfdruck oder als Teil des
Wecksignals.
Um eine einwandfreie Funktion
sicherzustellen, sollte die Uhr nur bei einer
Temperatur über 0°C betrieben werden.
Batterien
Die Braun voice memo benötigt 3 «Alkaline»
Mignon Batterien (LR 6, MN 1500, AM 3, AA
alkaline). Eine Batterie ( Symbol im
Batteriefach) wird für die Uhrenfunktion und
alle werden für den digitalen Tonspeicher
benötigt. Wird nur die Uhren-Batterie
eingesetzt, wird die Aufnahme- und
Wiedergabefunktion des Tonspeichers
blockiert.
Keine wiederaufladbaren Akkus verwenden,
da diese eine zu niedrige Spannung haben.
Einsetzen der Batterien
Um das Batteriefach zu öffnen, den Deckel
an der unteren Rückseite in Pfeilrichtung
schieben. Batterien polrichtig einsetzen.
Deckel bis zum Einrasten in die Uhr
schieben.
bcs
Diese Uhr ist mit dem «battery check
system» (bcs) ausgestattet. Das «bcs»
macht darauf aufmerksam, daß die
Batteriespannung nachläßt. Wenn die
Batteriespannung eine bestimmte Grenze
unterschreitet, rückt der Sekundenzeiger
nicht mehr in 1-Sekunden-Schritten, sondern
in 2-Sekunden-Schritten vor. Erneuern Sie
dann die Uhren-Batterie.
Wenn eine neue Uhren-Batterie eingesetzt
wird, bewegt sich der Sekundenzeiger 8
Sekunden lang (4mal) im Doppelschritt. Die
normale Bewegung danach im 1-SekundenTakt zeigt an, daß die Batteriespannung
ausreicht.
Eine schlechter werdende Tonqualität
signalisiert, daß die Batteriespannung für den
Tonspeicher nicht mehr ausreicht. Erneuern
Sie dann alle drei Batterien.
Verbrauchte Batterien gehören
nicht in den Hausmüll. Geben Sie
diese bitte bei entsprechenden
Sammelstellen oder im Handel ab.
Aufnahme
Der Schiebeschalter auf der Rückseite der
Uhr hat vier Positionen:
buzzer: Wecken nur mit Wecksignal,
ohne akustische Nachricht
volume 1: Wiedergabe, Lautstärke 1
volume 2: Wiedergabe, Lautstärke 2
record: Aufnahme
Um eine akustische Nachricht aufzunehmen,
den Schiebeschalter in Stellung «record»/bis
zum Anschlag schieben und gedrückt halten.
Die gewünschte Botschaft direkt in das
Mikrophon ( oberhalb des Lautsprechers)
sprechen oder das Mikrophon direkt an die
Tonquelle (Radio usw.) halten. Solange die
Kapazitätsgrenze des Tonspeichers –
maximal 10 Sekunden – noch nicht
überschritten ist, leuchtet die Kontroll-Lampe
neben dem Mikrophon. Wenn die Kapazitätsgrenze erreicht ist, erlischt die KontrollLampe, und die Aufnahme wird abgebrochen. Bei jeder Aufnahme wird die
vorherige Aufnahme vollständig gelöscht.
Wenn der Schiebeschalter nicht festgehalten
wird, springt dieser automatisch auf die
Stellung «volume 2». Somit wird ein
unfreiwilliges Löschen der vorherigen
Aufnahme verhindert.
Wiedergabe
Um eine gespeicherte Aufzeichnung
abzuhören, den gelben Knopf «repeat» kurz
drücken. Die gesamte Länge der akustischen
Nachricht wird abgespielt. Bei Stellung des
Schiebeschalters auf «volume l» ist die
Wiedergabe leiser als auf «volume 2».
Wiedergabe bei aktivierter Weckfunktion
Wenn der Schiebeschalter auf «volume 1»
oder «volume 2» gestellt ist, ertönt bei
eingeschalteter Weckfunktion kurz das
Wecksignal, anschließend wird die
gespeicherte Aufzeichnung wiedergegeben,
und dann ertönt wieder das Wecksignal, bis
es abgeschaltet wird.
Das Wecksignal nach der Aufzeichnung kann
durch Zuruf («voice control») unterbrochen
werden. Sowohl die Wiedergabe der
akustischen Nachricht als auch das
Wecksignal können manuell unterbrochen
werden (siehe «voice control/Zifferblattbeleuchtung/Nachweckautomatik»).
Einstellen der Uhrzeit
Zum bequemen Einstellen der Uhrzeit den
Drehknopf an der Rückseite der Uhr
antippen, so daß er herausspringt. Diesen
Knopf nur im Uhrzeigersinn (Pfeilrichtung)
drehen.
Wichtig: Nach dem EinsteIllen der Uhrzeit
den Knopf wieder hineindrücken.
Einstellen der Weckzeit
An der Seite der Uhr befindet sich das
Stellrad für die Weckzeiteinstellung. Dieses
Stellrad soll nur in Pfeilrichtung gedreht
werden.
Weckfunktion
Durch Drücken der Tasten «on» (grün) und
«off» (rot) wird die Weckfunktion ein- und
ausgeschaltet.
Um ein unbeabsichtigtes Einschalten der
Weckfunktion zu vermeiden, sollte auf
Reisen die Einschaltsperre betätigt werden:
Schalter «lock» bis zum Anschlag in Richtung
«on» Taste schieben.
Sollte ein Wecken ohne akustische Nachricht
gewünscht sein, Schiebeschalter (auf der
Rückseite der Uhr) auf «buzzer» stellen.
voice control/Zifferblattbeleuchtung/
Nachweckautomatik
Nach dem dritten Intervall-Weckton oder
nach der abgespielten Aufzeichnung kann
das Wecksignal durch Zuruf «voice control»
unterbrochen werden. Diese akustische
Unterbrechung löst immer die Nachweckautomatik aus, die das Wecksignal im
8-Minuten-Takt wieder ertönen läßt
und schaltet gleichzeitig die Zifferblattbeleuchtung für ca. 4 Sekunden ein.
Die Zifferblattbeleuchtung kann durch
Drücken auf die Tasten «on» oder «off»
aktiviert werden. Für die TaschenlampenFunktion muß eine der beiden Tasten
anhaltend gedrückt werden. Nach Einsetzen
des Wecksignals kann die Nachweckautomatik (snooze) durch Drücken der grünen
Taste «on/snooze/light» aktiviert werden; das
Wecksignal wird für 8 Minuten unterbrochen.
Diese Funktion kann insgesamt ca. 4mal =
ca. 30 Minuten aktiviert werden.

Garantie
Als Hersteller übernehmen wir für dieses
Gerät – nach Wahl des Käufers zusätzlich
zu den gesetzlichen Gewährleistungsansprüchen gegen den Verkäufer – eine
Garantie von einem Jahr ab Kaufdatum.
Innerhalb dieser Garantiezeit beseitigen wir
nach unserer Wahl durch Reparatur oder
Austausch des Gerätes unentgeltlich alle
Mängel, die auf Material- oder Herstellungsfehlern beruhen. Durch die Ausführung von
Garantieleistungen wird die Garantiefrist in
keiner Weise berührt.
Die Garantie wird unter Vorlage der
ausgefüllten Garantiekarte in den Ländern
gewährt, in denen das Produkt von Braun
oder ihren autorisierten Händlern verkauft
wird; sie erlischt beim Eingriff anderer als der
