In the following we would like to familiarise
you with the appliance and provide some
useful information about epilation. Please
read the use instructions carefully and
thoroughly before using the appliance.

Braun Silk·épil SoftPerfection Body
Epilation has been designed to make the
removal of unwanted hair as efficient,
gentle and easy as possible. Its proven
epilation system removes hair at the root,
leaving your skin smooth for weeks.
With the innovative SoftLift
the unique arrangement of tweezers it
provides an extra close epilation for
perfectly smooth skin, allowing to remove
hairs as short as 0.5 mm as well as flat
lying hairs. As the hair that re-grows is
fine and soft, there will be no more
stubble.

The high-precision epilation head for
leg hair removal comes with two different
attachments:

The massaging rollers clip makes
the epilation ultra gentle. Its pulsating
movement stimulates and relaxes
the skin to offset the pulling sensation.

The EfficiencyPro clip provides a
thorough epilation that is now even
faster. Ensuring maximum skin
contact and the optimum usage
position, it allows removal of even
more hairs per stroke.

If you have not used an epilator before, or
if you have not epilated for a longer period
of time, it may take a short while for your
skin to adapt to epilation. The discomfort
experienced at first is considerably
reduced with repeated use as the number
of hair to be removed decreases over time
and as the skin adjusts to the process.

The narrow epilation head is perfectly

suited to follow the contours of delicate
body parts such as under the arms and
the bikini lines. A reduced number of
tweezers and the narrow design, speci­fically adapted to these body areas, improve
the handling and ensure a particularly
gentle epilation in these areas.

Warning

• For hygienic reasons, do not share this
appliance with other persons.

• Keep the appliance dry.

• Keep the appliance out of the reach of
children.

• When switched on, the appliance must
never come in contact with the hair on
your head, eyelashes, ribbons, etc. to
prevent any danger of injury as well as
to prevent blockage or damage to the
appliance.

• Before use, check whether your voltage
corresponds to the voltage printed on
the transformer. Always use the country­specific 12 V transformer plug supplied
with this product.

General information on epilation

Silk·épil is designed to epilate hair on legs,
but use tests monitored by dermatologists
have revealed that you can also epilate the
underarm and the bikini line.

All methods of hair removal at the root can
lead to in-growing hair and irritation (e.g.
itching, discomfort and reddening of the
skin) depending on the condition of the
skin and hair.
This is a normal reaction and should
quickly disappear, but may be stronger
when you are removing hair at the root for
the first few times or if you have sensitive
skin.

If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows

irritation, we recommend that you contact
your physician. In general, the skin
reaction and the sensation of pain tend to
diminish considerably with the repeated
use of Silk·épil.

In some cases inflammation of the skin
could occur when bacteria penetrate the
skin (e.g. when sliding the appliance over
the skin). Thorough cleaning of the epila­tion head before each use will minimise
the risk of infection.

If you have any doubts about using this
appliance, please consult your physician.
In the following cases, this appliance
should only be used after prior consulta­tion with a physician:
– eczema, wounds, inflamed skin reac-

tions such as folliculitis (purulent hair

follicles) and varicose veins
– around moles
– reduced immunity of the skin, e.g.

diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy,

Raynaud’s disease
– haemophilia or immune deficiency.

Some useful tips

Epilation is easier and more comfortable
when the hair is at the optimum length of
2– 5 mm (0.08– 0.2 in). If hairs are longer,
we recommend that you either shave first
and epilate the shorter re-growing hairs
after 1 or 2 weeks.

When epilating for the first time, it is
advisable to epilate in the evening, so that
any possible reddening can disappear
overnight. To relax the skin we recom­mend applying a moisture cream after
epilation.

Fine hair which re-grows might not grow
up to the skin surface. The regular use
of massage sponges (e.g. after showering)
or exfoliation peelings helps to prevent

in-growing hair as the gentle scrubbing
action removes the upper skin layer and
fine hair can get through to the skin
surface.

How to epilate

Preparing your skin

Your skin must be dry and free from
grease or cream.
Optional skin cooling: For the first few
epilations or if you have sensitive skin, you
can use the cooling application, recom­mended by dermatologists to help reduce
possible skin irritation.

• Ensure that the gel pack has been in
the deep freezer (***) for at least 2 hours
(for convenience you can store the gel
packs in the freezer).

• Insert the
glove’s transparent foil. Use only with
glove .

• Put transparent (cool) side of the glove
on your leg.

• Start cooling for approx. 1/2 minute,
longer if needed.

• Epilate the cooled skin area immedia­tely as described.

• Repeat cooling and epilating until
completion.

• While epilating, please ensure your skin
is dry.

Keep away from sunlight. Do not use
gel pack when damaged. Dispose of in
household waste. Do not use if you are
hypersensitive, allergic to the cold, or if

Preparing the appliance

• Before starting, thoroughly clean the

For optimum performance hold the
appliance at a right angle (90°) against
your skin. Guide it in a slow, continuous
movement without pressure against the
hair growth, in the direction of the
switch. The SoftLift

3 Leg epilation

(epilation head with massaging

Epilate your legs from the lower leg in
an upward direction. When epilating
behind the knee, keep the leg stretched
out straight.

4 Underarm and bikini line epilation

(narrow epilation head without

attachment):
For this specific application, the narrow
epilation head has been developed.
Thanks to its specific design adapted
to the contours of these areas, it pro­vides a gentle and thorough epilation.
Please be aware that especially at the
beginning these areas are particularly
sensitive to pain. With repeated usage
the pain sensation will diminish. For
more comfort, ensure that the hair is
at the optimum length of 2– 5 mm.
Before epilating, thoroughly clean the
respective area to remove residue (like
deodorant). Then carefully dab dry with
a towel. When epilating the underarm,
keep your arm raised up so that the skin
is stretched and guide the appliance in
different directions.
As skin may be more sensitive directly
after epilation, avoid using irritating
substances such as deodorants with
alcohol.

Cleaning the epilation heads

5 After epilating, unplug the appliance

and clean the epilation head used:

first remove it and clean it with the
brush.

6 To clean the tweezer element, use the

cleaning brush dipped into alcohol.
Turn the product around and clean the
tweezers with the brush while turning
the barrel manually.

7 Remove the epilation head by pressing

the release buttons on the left and

right and pull it off.
Give the top of the housing a quick
clean with the brush. Place the epila­tion head and the clip or back on

Silk·épil SoftPerfection Body Epilation de
Braun a été conçu pour retirer les poils
indésirables d’une manière aussi efficace,
douce et facile que possible. Il a été
prouvé que son système d’épilation retire
les poils à la racine laissant votre peau
lisse pendant plusieurs semaines. Les
nouvelles extrémités SoftLift
ment unique des pincettes offrent la plus
précise des épilations pour une peau
parfaitement douce, en permettant de
retirer les poils de moins de 0,5 mm et les
poils couchés contre la peau. Le poil qui
repousse est fin et doux, il n’y aura donc
plus d’imperfections.

possède deux accessoires :

nombre réduit de pincettes et la forme
étroite, spécialement adaptée à ces zones
du corps, améliorent la manipulation et
assurent une épilation particulièrement

Précautions

• Pour des raisons d’hygiène, ne prêtez
pas votre appareil à d’autres person­nes.

• Ne jamais laisser l’appareil se mouiller.

• Cet appareil doit être tenu hors de
portée des enfants.

• Lorsque l’appareil est en marche, il
ne doit jamais entrer en contact avec
les cheveux ou les sourcils, ceci afin
d’éviter les risques d’accidents et pour
ne pas endommager l’appareil.

• Avant utilisation, vérifier que le voltage
correspond bien au voltage indiqué sur
le transformateur.
Utiliser le transformateur 12 V fourni
avec l’appareil.

révélé que vous pouvez également
l’utiliser pour l’épilation des aisselles et
du maillot.

Les méthodes d’épilation à la racine
peuvent parfois entraîner la repousse de
certains poils sous la peau et des irri­tations (comme des démangeaisons, de
l’inconfort ou des rougeurs corporelles),
dépendant de l’état de la peau et des
poils. Ces réactions sont normales et
devraient rapidement disparaître, mais
peuvent être accentuées si vous vous
épilez pour les premières fois ou si vous
avez la peau sensible.

Si, après 36 heures, la peau est toujours
irritée, nous vous conseillons de contacter
votre médecin. En général, les réactions
de la peau et les sensations de douleur
s’atténuent considérablement au fur et à
mesure des épilations avec Silk·épil.

Certains cas d’inflammation de la peau
peuvent être dû à l’intrusion de bactérie
dans la peau (lors du passage de l’ap­pareil sur la peau, par exemple).
Le fait de nettoyer minutieusement la tête
d’épilation avant chaque épilation réduit
ce risque d’infection.

Si vous avez le moindre doute quant à
l’utilisation de cet appareil, n’hésitez pas à
consulter votre médecin traitant. Il est
important de consulter son médecin avant
une épilation dans les cas suivants :
– eczéma, blessures, inflammations

cutanées (follicules purulents) et

varices,
– grains de beauté,
– immunité affaiblie de la peau, comme

diabètes, grossesse, maladie de

Raynaud,
– hémophilie ou déficience immunitaire.

Quelques conseils utiles

L’épilation est plus facile et plus conforta­ble lorsque les poils sont à leur longueur
optimale de 2 à 5 mm. Si les poils sont
plus longs, nous vous recommandons
d’abord de les raser et de les épiler ensuite
lorsqu’ils auront repoussés au bout de
1 ou 2 semaines.
Au début, nous vous conseillons de vous
épiler le soir : les rougeurs éventuelles
disparaîtront au cours de la nuit. Pour
assouplir la peau, nous vous re-comman­dons d’appliquer une crème hydratante
après l’épilation.

Des poils très fins peuvent parfois
repousser sous la peau.
Pour éviter ces poils incarnés, nous vous
conseillons d’utiliser régulièrement un
gant de crin ou de procéder à des exfolia­tions. En effet, grâce à l’action exfoliante,
les cellules mortes sont retirées permettant
ainsi aux poils fins de ne pas rester blo­qués sous la peau.

Méthode d’épilation

Préparez votre peau

Votre peau doit être sèche et sans aucun
résidu d’huile ou de crème.

Utilisation du gant rafraichissant : Pour les

avez la peau sensible, vous pouvez utiliser
l’accessoire rafraîchissant, recommandé
par des dermatologues pour favoriser la
diminution d’irritation de la peau.

• Mettez la poche de gel au congélateur

(***) pendant au moins 2 heures
(pour plus de commodité, vous pouvez
constamment laisser les poches de gel
au congélateur).

• Insérer la

poche de gel sous la partie

transparente du gant. Utiliser la poche

• Posez le côté transparent (frais) du gant

sur votre jambe.

• Appliquez 1/2 minute, plus longtemps si

besoin.

• Epilez immédiatement la zone de peau

• Répétez l’opération jusqu’à la fin de

l’épilation.

• Pendant votre épilation, assurez-vous

que votre peau soit bien séche.

3 Epilation des jambes

Epilez vos jambes en commençant par
le bas de la jambe et en remontant le
long de celle-ci. Pour épiler derrière le
genou, maintenir la jambe bien tendue.

La tête d’épilation étroite a été con­çue pour cette utilisation spécifique.
Grâce à sa conception spécifique,
adaptée aux contours de ces zones,
elle permet une épilation douce et
complète.
Sachez que ces zones sont, au début,
particulièrement sensibles à la douleur.
La sensation de douleur diminuera au fil
des épilations.
Pour un plus grand confort, assurez­vous que les poils sont à leur longueur
optimale de 2– 5 mm.
Avant de procéder à l’épilation, netto­yez à fond les zones respectives pour
éliminer tous les résidus éventuels (de
déodorant par exemple). Puis, séchez
en tamponnant avec une serviette.
Pour épiler les aisselles, maintenez
votre bras relevé de sorte que la peau
soit tendue et guidez l’appareil dans les
différentes directions.
Comme la peau peut être plus sensible
immédiatement après l’épilation, évitez
d’utiliser des substances irritantes
comme les déodorants à l’alcool.

6 Pour nettoyer les pincettes, utilisez la

brossette de nettoyage trempée dans
de l’alcool. Retournez l’appareil et
nettoyez les pincettes avec la brossette
en tournant le cylindre à la main.

7 Enlevez la tête d’épilation en appuyant

sur les boutons de libération à

gauche et à droite et tirez la tête.
Nettoyez rapidement le haut du corps
de l’appareil avec la brossette.
Replacez la tête d’épilation et l’acces­soire ou sur le corps de l’appareil.

Câteva idei utile

îngust. Datoritå design-ului såu adaptat
specific conturului acestor zone, el

aceste zone sunt deosebit de sensibile
la durere. Odata cu utilizarea repetata,
senzatia de durere se va diminua.
Pentru a avea un comfort mai mare, fiti
siguri ca lungimea parului este optima si
se afla intre 2–5 mm.

zona respectiva pentru a indeparta
reziduurile (precum deodorantii).
